•Chapter 10: Always and Forever•
"We have to go," I tell my group as we stand around the counter in the loft, "we have to go meet Pan and get back Felix, Toby, and Harper."
"We know, Everly," Sam responds calmly, "but we need to think of a plan."
"The plan is to go and get them back," I state.
"We can't just waltz in there and be like 'hello, Peter. Can we have the people you took from us back now?'" Vincent mocks, "it doesn't work that way."
Knowing he's right, I let out a sigh before sitting on the couch while they talk amongst themselves. After a moment, I close my eyes to gather my thoughts when a gust of wind pulls me back to reality. I open my eyes to see a blank paper on the table in front of me before my eyes widen when I realize it looks like a paper from Henry's storybook.
I slowly reach for it and flip it over to reveal the picture of Felix and I dancing at the ball when I went back in time. I gasp as I jump up from the couch and let the paper fall to the floor before everyone turns to look at me as Katherine comes over to make sure I'm okay. When I point to the paper, Katherine picks it up and stares at it with wide eyes.
"Wasn't this framed in your room back in the world above?" she asks.
"Yeah," I whisper, "it was."
"Why is it here?"
"Think of it as a little gift from me."
I freeze at the new familiar voice in the room and, by the lack of shuffling, I know everyone else has frozen, too. I slowly look up to see Peter Pan sitting on the windowsill.
"Why are you all so surprised to see me?" he laughs as he stands up and walks into the center of the room, "I did tell you we were meeting today."
"We thought we were meeting you in the woods," Harry tells him.
"That was the original plan," Pan explains, "but I was tired of waiting."
"Now what?" Fletcher asks.
"Now," a smirk makes its way onto his face, "it's time for a game," he then turns to Austin, "excluding you. Don't want your father to be mad."
Before any of us could react, a cloud of green smoke surrounds us, followed by darkness.

I slowly open my eyes to see an empty camp, similar to Pan's camp on Neverland. When I try to move, I quickly realize that I'm tied to a tree before I hear movement and look to my right to see my whole group in the same situation as me. I let out a quiet sigh then look across the camp to see three cages hanging from the trees. Typical Lost Boys camp.
"What's going on?" I hear Harry ask.
"Looks like we're Pan's prisoners again," I sigh as the sound of footsteps comes into hearing range.
"Who's coming?" Katherine asks.
"Shut up and we'll see," Vincent tells her.
"Don't tell her to shut up," Sam hisses.
"Can you all just be quiet?!" Fletcher whisper yells.
The footsteps come closer and out of the forest comes Pan, Griff, and a small group of boys. About ten. Andy, Zachary, and Wally are the only familiar ones. My attention turns away from the Lost Boys and back to Pan, who shoots my group a sly smile before he turns to his boys.
"We're going to play a game I haven't played in a very long time," he tells them, "it's called Capture the Everly."
As soon as he announces the name of the game, I feel my breath get caught in my throat before my heart skips a beat.
"What makes you think I wanna play?" I hiss.
"Well," Pan says as he faces me, "if you make it to the cemetery, I will let you and your friends go."
As soon as he finishes his explanation, I raise an eyebrow at him, thinking back to the last time we played this game and the trick he played
"This time I said will not may," he adds, "and to sweeten the deal, I'll add the caged prisoners."
He nods to his boys then they lower the cages before Griff walks up to the smallest one, unlocks it, and aggressively pulls the first prisoner out. The boy from the cage is dragged over in front of us as I hear a gasp from one of my group members before I realize the prisoner standing in front of us is Toby. The second cage is unlocked before a girl.
"Harper!" Fletcher shouts, causing her to look up before he tries to break the ropes that bind him.
Many tears begin to fall from her eyes before she tries to get out of the boy's grip but he's too strong. The last cage is unlocked and, as soon as I see the boy, the tears I've been holding back for almost two years escape me. Felix looks over to my group and our eyes meet before he pushes all of the boys out of the way and runs over to me. Tears stream down my face as he carefully places his hand on my cheek as if I would break.
"Is it really you?" he questions.
"Yeah," I whisper as I lean into his hand.
"Are you dead?"
"No."
"Good."
The next thing I know, his lips make contact with mine as he gently kisses me before the moment is cut short by the demon boy.
"That's enough," Pan says before Felix is dragged away from me, "do we have a deal, Jones?"
My eyes are fixed on Felix as his eyes tell me not to do whatever Pan said. But I couldn't lose him, not again.
"It's a deal," I answer as I continue to stare at Felix.
As soon as the three words leave my mouth, I feel the ropes that held me back vanish and a cut takes their place.
"I'll give you a five-minute head start," Pan tells me.
"Are you allowed to use magic?" I ask him.
"I will not use magic."
"And how do I know you'll stay true to your word?"
He sighs before he raises his hand in the air then holds out his other one and a cuff appears. He then places it on his own wrist but something still feels off. I quickly brush it off the feeling, trying to convince myself that it was probably my general distrust towards the boy.
"Are you ready, Jones?" he asks me.
"Always," I answer.
"Your head start begins...now!"
After taking one last look at Felix, I sprint out of the camp. Knowing exactly how to get to the cemetery, I run down the streets of Underbrooke, as Regina calls it, and pass many of its citizens. After running for a while, the realization hits me that Pan never told me what he gets if he wins. I shake off the thought as I turn the corner where the cemetery entrance is, only an empty field. Once it hits me that Pan must have done something, the call of the Lost Boys fills the air, causing me to duck into a nearby alley before I pull out my phone and call the one person who can help me. Austin.
"Hello?"
"Austin," I sigh in relief.
"Everly?" he questions, "where are you?"
"In an alley near the cemetery. Except I can't see it."
"What are you talking about?"
"I can't see the cemetery."
"Pan must have done a cloaking spell but just on you because I can see it from where I am."
As panic begins to form within me, I run my free hand through my hair.
"I can't reverse it," I tell him, "Pan put one of those stupid cuffs on me so I can't use my magic."
Silence surrounds us as we think a solution to this before one hits me like a truck.
"I know what I have to do, Austin," I say, "hopefully it'll work."
Before he can respond, I hang up and begin to sprint back to Pan's camp.

After making it back without seeing a single Lost Boy, I find Pan is standing in the middle of the camp, unaware of my return. Taking advantage of the situation, I quietly make my way over to Felix and untie his ropes just enough for him to break free when necessary before I walk to the middle of the clearing to face Pan.
"Give up?" he smirks when he notices my return.
"What makes you think that?" I question.
"Because you're back."
"I'm only back because you cheated. Just like last time."
"How did I cheat?"
"You cast a cloaking spell."
"Surprised you figured it out, Jones," he hisses.
"I'm surprised you thought of it," I respond as calm as possible, "it's a pretty complicated spell for someone as small minded as you."
By the look on his face, my last remark really got to him. I send him a smirk before he turns around to hide his anger. When Pan's attention is away from me, I glance over to Felix and gesture to the swords behind him before he slightly turns his head then nods when he understands.
"Wanna settle this like we did on the island?" Pan asks as he turns back to face me before Griff removes the cuff from Pan's wrist and a sword appears in his hand.
"Why would I play another game with a cheater like you?" I playfully ask.
"Don't be an idiot, Jones. Either we have a sword fight or none of your friends will ever go back to Storybrooke."
"I have a third option for you."
As soon as the words leave my mouth, Felix breaks the ropes and grabs one of the swords behind him before he holds it at Griff's neck. When Pan lunges towards me, I quickly duck under his sword before he stumbles forward and I grab the sword from him then point it at his chest.
"We both know these are coated with water from the River of Lost Souls," I say as Felix takes the cuff off my wrist and quickly puts it on Pan's, "so I suggest," I put move the sword closer to him as he backs away, "you let us go."
For a moment, all he does is glare before he signals Griff to stand down. Once he drops his sword, Felix ties Griff and Pan to one of the poles while I untie everyone else.
"Let's go," I announce.
The next thing anyone knew, I teleport us to the park. Before I can move, I feel myself being lifted off the ground and spun around in a circle. When I'm back on the ground, I turn and come face to face with Felix.
"I missed you so much," he tells me.
"Not as much as I missed you," I respond.
Like before, he places a hand on my cheek as if his touch would break me as I mimic his actions. We stare into each other's eyes for a moment then kiss. When we come apart, smiles are on our faces.
"I never got to finish these words," he says, the smile still on his face, "I love you, Everly Jones."
