Jimin was following Taehyung and Jungkook out of the school gates when he got a message.
A message from Yoongi to be exact.
He looked up to the two in front of him chatting away about some PC game that Jungkook has. He's been on about it all day.
He focuses back on his phone screen where Yoongis contact still remains unread.
Should he read it?
Jimin would surely feel guilty if he ignored it, especially since the message began with sorry.
He unlocked his phone and red the message.
Yoongi Hyung
Sorry I didn't meet you at lunch Jimin. Something came up
Jimin frowned at the message, despite the fact it was an apology. More specifically, he was frowning at the something came up part— couldn't he have explained what was going on to settle the confused thoughts in Jimins mind?
But then Jimin realised that Yoongi didn't know he saw him in the music room. Maybe I'm being a bit selfish again, He thought, it's not my business, it's Yoongis.
Jiminii
It's fine
After he sent it, Jimin soon thought he sounded too blunt, too rude. He can't make it obvious that he's unhappy.
So he added a small smiley face and sent it to Yoongi.
:)
Yoongi replies within a minute with
Yoongi Hyung
I'll see you tomorrow, I need help from my little maths genius
Jimin almost stopped walking for second then, or even breathing.
'My little maths genius'??
"Jimin? Why are you walking so slow?"
Lifting his head, Jimin quickly came up with an answer. "Just texting my mum"
He switched off his phone and put it back into his pocket, before jogging a little to catch up with his friends.
Despite still feeling slight jealousy, Jimin had to restrain himself from grinning.
He could have just said he needed help with maths....

Jimin decided not to go straight home and stopped at the convenience store on the way there. He wanted quiet time before he got back home, he knew he would only have to do homework straight away when he gets back.
He sat at the seat in front of the window again since it was his usual place. There wasn't much to look at though; the store was only on the side of a plain old road.
Jimin was staring out the window when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He flinched, turning around only to see Min Yoongi standing over him. His mouth was stretched just enough that it formed a smile. A smile that somehow made Jimins heart thump.
"Hyung?.."
Yoongi sat down next to the younger before he placed something down on the table.
It was a Samgak Kimbap, Jimins favourite.
"What's this?" Jimin asked. "Why are you giving me this?"
"An apology" Yoongi said, turning to look out the window. "Plus I didn't I didn't give you one this morning either."
"This morning?" Jimin scrunched up his face. I understand the apology but why... "why would you need to give me one this morning? You've never done that before?"
Yoongi faced The younger again with a frown "What? You didn't see the ones in your draw?"
"The ones in my..." Jimin trailed off half way through, thinking hard about what Yoongi meant. The only ones in my draw were from....
They were from Taehyung...
Right?
"Oh" Jimin sunk in his chair "they were from you?" He asked quietly as if Yoongi would get mad.
Jimin looked away when Yoongi didn't say anything at first. But soon he heard a small chuckle from the older.
"It's ok, it thought I didn't see you eat them"
"I'm sorry" he winced, Jimin felt bad that hadn't ate Yoongis gift. "I thought tae was the one who put them there.."
"Ah and because of the Jungkook situation?"
"Yes.."
Now Jimin thought about it, he didn't even have to chuck the snacks away anymore because he had already forgiven Taehyung. If he had just ate them, he wouldn't have felt so bad in this situation.
"I'm sorry" Jimin says again and covered his face with his hands.
Yoongi shook his head and opened the samgak kimbap for Jimin himself. He tapped the younger shoulder again to get his attention before he held it up to Jimins mouth. The younger removed his hands slowly, revealing a small pout on his lips.
"Eat" Yoongi said.
Jimin nodded and leaned forward to take a bite. It was quite awkward with the way Yoongi was watching him, but he ate it nonetheless.
"Don't you want some?" Jimin asked while chewing the mouthful.
"I'm good. I bought it for you"
"Well, thank you"
Jimin would have told Yoongi that he bought him a milkshake but unfortunately he had already given them to Taehyung and Jungkook to take home. Today was not the best day.
Once Jimin had finished eating the kimbap, he wiped his mouth and sat there quietly and Yoongi did the same. The two watched the people walk by the window however neither of them were concentrating— they both had a question to ask.
"Hyung" Jimin started, getting there first.
Yoongi hummed to let him know he was listening, so he continued. "Can I ask you something?"
"Ask away kiddo"
Jimin rolled his eyes at the nickname but then let out a deep sigh.
"Why did you speak to me that day?" He said. "You could have ignored me like you used to but you didn't. It still feels strange knowing that a guy like me gets to talk to a wonderful popular guy like you"
Yoongi let out a laugh. "I wouldn't personally have used the word 'ignored', I've never ignored you Jiminnie, I've just never had the chance to speak to you until then."
As Jimin faced Yoongi, the older did the same to him, the two sharing eye contact for a while until one of them broke it.
Faint Music was playing in the background of the connivence store, a soft acoustic melody that he had heard plenty of times.
He smiled at Yoongis words as he felt somewhat happy, felt special. Jimin felt like he should be grateful that a guy like Yoongi actually wanted to speak to him– a lot of students would probably love to be friends with The Min Yoongi.
"And not to mention" Yoongi started again and Jimin listened carefully. "You were crying, did you just expect me to leave you sitting their alone?"
"Well I mean... most people probably would"
"Well I'm not most people." Yoongi laughed "and hey, what's with the whole a guy like me and a guy like you thing? That's nonsense."
"But it's true! We're completely different people"
"So? Everyone is different." Jimin watched Yoongi as he spoke. "I'm completely opposite to Hoseok, and we happen to be best friends. Admittedly I do sometimes question why but that's not the point"
Jimin laughed, earning a gummy smile off Yoongi. God, that smile just made Jimin feel ten times happier, he never knew Yoongi could be so cute.
It was funny how Jungkook was pretty much forgotten from Jimins mind.
Yoongi had now taken over.

Currently wondering what could happen at the concert? 🤔🤔
