I came to a sudden halt, swiftly stepping aside as I observed the group of teenagers advancing toward me. As they passed, I couldn't help but notice the mischief glinting in each of their eyes, like flickers of rebellion barely contained.

They almost resembled gangsters on their way to a rumble.

One of them—a girl, her features sharp and her expression defiant—turned her head and locked eyes with me. Her gaze didn't waver as she continued to approach, and in that instant, as I stared into those fierce eyes, memories I had long suppressed surged back with unrelenting force.

Not so long ago, I had been one of them—miserable, wretched, lost, hateful... longing.
