taehyun is the forever seventeen year-old boy who was trying to live his life to the fullest until he began getting bullied and pestered when he entered high school. he's someone who always tried to please those around him; doing favours when asked, doing homework for students. if you asked, you would receive. it worked for taehyun up until his last year of high school, when the bullying got to the point where he was driven to the edge, literally. however, it wasn't him who pushed. since that day, taehyun has haunted his homeroom class silently, until one year the people around him began noticing him and treating him as if he were human.

professor jang, known ten years ago as jang yooyeon, was a woman you never wanted to mess with. during her last year of high school she never really bothered anyone, until she set her eyes on taehyun. though he never personally offended her, she just felt the urge to pester and bug him to no end. eventually the pestering turned to bullying but no one noticed because of how much of a people pleaser taehyun was. on that fateful day, yooyeon had chased taehyun to the school rooftop and watched as he inched closer and closer to the edge. and that's when she striked.

woohyun is your typical smart kid who manages to snag the title of class president. overall, he does his job well. he's responsible, takes charge, and doesn't let his peers sway him from what he believes is right. he's normally seen 'sucking up' to professor jang; always pestering her to help, trying to get picked for things, and always trying to become the top student in the class. when things start going in the opposite direction from where he wants them, woohyun has to make a decision.

siyeon was the first student in the class of 2022 to notice taehyun and acknowledge him as a human. from the get-go, her personality was very upbeat and cheerful. she always tries to find light in any situation, no matter how dark they may get. taehyun describes her as a walking ray of sunshine and she agrees. however, she also senses when things are off, and it proves true when she starts to believe something is off about her professor.

soyoung is a handful. she's the full embodiment of the word chaos. she's very fond of the paranormal, as her parents are well known in their area for being professional ghost seekers and communicators. soyoung is nine-times-out-of-ten always going to be seen with her paranormal book as well as salt and anything else she believes she'll need. she usually ends up getting nowhere, until clues begin to give her a lead in the right direction.

hyunsoo is more on the quiet side. he doesn't interact much with the other students despite being seated right next to one who talks a lot more than he needs to (though that could just be his harsh opinion). hyunsoo has always been good at art and is often seen in the art room just doing his thing. but, because he's so out of tune with everyone else, they always suspect him when things go wrong. he tries to ignore taehyun and his shenanigans but almost always ends up by his side alongside siyeon.

he's the top student in professor jang's class and she's proud of it. she sees how hard he works in keeping his grades high and often favours him when she needs assistance. yejun knows that the professor prefers him over woohyun but he doesn't let that get to him. he simply does his thing and focuses on studying. he's seen as cold and unapproachable by many of his classmates but not to taehyun, his roommate. the two start a rather interesting friendship however, it proves to be useful for the both of them.

saebyeok is the girl in the class who is seen often with her tarot cards or showing off tricks to the other students. she's quite famous within the school for both those things as well as having shaman parents. professor jang doesn't necessarily believe in what saebyeok does but lets her do her thing anyway. saebyeok is, for the most part, a rather nice person but can be intimidating if needed. she usually gets along with everyone but taehyun rubs her the wrong way. she treats him like she does everyone else, but soon enough her suspicions will prove themselves.
