(Areum's POV)
I woke up to the sun shining through the window into my eyes. I squinted my eyes in slight pain, shielding them from the light as I got up.

I looked over at my clock.
9:10 PM
I groaned quietly and got dressed, brushing my hair out and then heading downstairs. I barely had motivation to go to school, but I forced myself to.

Mom had put some breakfast on the table for me, my big sister sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Sorry but I'm not hungry, mom. See you" I said, leaving for school right after my big sis yelled 'Make sure you don't run get cheated on again' and laughed. I hated her. She always made things more difficult than it needed to be.

I have given up on finding love in school due to repeatedly getting cheated on, and she found that SO hilarious so she just HAS TO make fun of me for it.

Once I got on the school bus, I pulled out my phone and looked at my notifications. Just then I got a notification from Wattpad saying my all-time favorite author had updated.

I pressed on the notification and began reading, suppressing my squeals and cries and laughs since I was on the bus.

Someone sat down on the seat next to me, chatting with their friends and I quickly turned my phone off so the person wouldn't see.

I looked up at the person who I now know is a male. I froze when I realized who it was.

Nam Hyuk

I felt my heartbeat rate increase as I caught his attention because I was staring. I quickly tore my attention away from him and looked down at my phone, unlocking it and starting to play Flow Free, hoping to God that he'll just look away.

In the corner of my eye I saw him smile and then go back to talking to his friends. The bus soon arrived to school and everyone started getting off.

Once inside the building, I rushed to my locker and put away some stuff.
"Hey Areum" My friend Izui said, placing her hand gently on my shoulder.

"Hi Izui" I replied quietly, not really in the mood to talk. She went on and on about random stuff until.
"Hey, can you give me some relationship advice?" She asked.
"Sure" I said but immediately started mentally cursing at myself for saying 'Sure'.

"Okay, so, me and my boyfriend got in another fight and I ended up yelling 'I hate you' at him. He won't let me talk to him no matter what I do. What should I do?" She asked.
"If he won't talk to you then I can't tell you anything helpful to be completely honest" I replied.

"Stop fucking around Areum. Our anniversary is in two days!" She said in a pleading tone.
"I'm not cupid. I can't help you" I replied plainly.
"Areum pleeeeeasssse! Just this once! I know you don't like getting involved, but please! Hannah, Lola, Lilly and Naomi won't help me so you're my only option now!" She said.

"Ugh. Okay. My advice? Break up" I said and walked away.

I heard her let out one of damned whines behind me for me to help her.
"You screwed up and I doubt he'll forgive you considering he's not a forgiving person" I said.

"I hate you!" She yelled.
"That's your problem" I replied, continuing to walk away. I saw a fight going on between Hyuk and the school bully, Sora. Hyuk was bleeding from his mouth and Sora's fist had a small amount of blood on it.

Hyuk seemed light headed as he struggled to stand straight.

"SAY THAT TO MY FACE YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!" Sora screamed at Hyuk.
"I said it's funny how you pick on people just to make yourself feel better. You pick on people who suffer from mental illnesses like depression when you can't even face your own insecurities. It's pretty fucking pathetic" Hyuk said.

Sora clenched his teeth, growling under his breath, visibly readying a punch.
"You can hurt me all you want. It doesn't change how big of a coward you are" Hyuk said.
"SHUT UP!!" Sora screamed, landing his punch straight in Hyuk's stomach causing Hyuk to stumble back a bit.

(Hyuk's POV)
Sora grabbed me and harshly threw me at a wall causing my breath to hitch for a second.

My vision began blurring, though I could faintly see Sora approaching, seeming ready to punch me again.

(Areum's POV)
I rushed in to help Hyuk, getting in between him and Sora, shielding Hyuk.
"Get out of the way, shorty" Sora said but I refused to move.

"Leave Hyuk alone" I said. Sora growled under his breath grabbed me by the collar of my shirt.
"If you don't move I'll fucking kill you!" He said.

I gripped his arm, dead-silent as the crowd were recording and I got Sora to let go, pinning him down on the floor, having both his arms gripped. He struggled against my grip but I started bending his finger back causing him to immediately stop. I got off his back and dusted myself off.

Sora got back up and ran away with his friends, visibly gripping his finger in pain. I turned to Hyuk, still silent, and saw his eyes were wide in shock.

I grabbed his hand and took him to the nurse's office, remaining silent.
"How did you do that?" He asked.
"Martial arts practice" I replied quietly but loud enough.
"Oh" He said quietly.

We were half way to the nurse's office when he decided to speak up.
"I know the way, you don't have to take me there.." He said.
"Mhm, but I'm still going to" I said, my back still turned to him to hide that I was as red as a tomato from blush.

He sighed quietly but I could sense him smiling.
"Thanks for helping me by the way" He said softly and I internally screamed, still attempting to keep my back turned to him.

"No problem" I said. We eventually arrived and I let his hand go, opening the door. I saw a student seeming to be calling home to their parents. The nurse, Bora, noticed us.
"Oh my God. What happened to you, Hyuk?" She asked, getting out of her seat and approaching.

"I got in a fight with Sora" He replied.
"Again? Hyuk, I told you not to start anymore fights" Bora said in a disappointed tone.

"It wasn't me who started it this time though" He said.
"Sora just started yelling at me out of nowhere" He added.
"It's not hard to believe you, but you should have ended it in that case" Bora said.

"Sora never really accepts mercy unless he gets shown bullying comes with consequences. And if he's never shown so, the abuse can go on for longer than you think" He replied.

Bora sighed.
"Fine. Come and we'll get your bruises treated at least a little" Bora said.
"You can stay, but please wait here" Bora added, speaking to me. I nodded and sat down on one of the chairs and Hyuk was taken to a separate room.
