HOTEL CAESAR AUGUSTUS
capri, italy
september 5, 2024
thursday
12pm
i was pacing alone in the lobby of the hotel while on the phone with kim who was blabbering to me about some work fiasco that she swore was 'important.'
"can you believe that they'd do that? i mean the assistant quit on the spot and now i'm assistantless." she complained.
i chuckled into my phone. "they probably quit because you were working them too hard." i teased.
"shut up, i'm serious." she replied, her tone a mix of agitation and amusement.
i leaned against the marble pillar and looked out of one of the large windows. "are you going to find a new assistant?" i asked.
she huffed. "yeah, but it's harder than you think. they have to be the total package. professional, trustworthy, capable, a team player, good with tech and able to deal with my last-minute decisions." she rambled off the traits of the ideal assistant.
i nodded as if she could see me. "you're kim kardashian, you'll find someone."
she sighed, "i guess so, but it's still a headache. i'm thinking of putting out an ad online or something, see if i can get any promising candidates that way." she explained.
i responded to her and then looked up only to see theo walking through the lobby, he hadn't noticed me yet. i turned my body away from him, my back turned to him.
"maybe you should just promote one of your employees or something, someone you trust," i suggested, almost whispering now.
kim groaned. "ugh, i would but they're all too invaluable in their current roles, i don't want to disrupt their roles just to have them as an assistant."
"that's true.." i replied, still keeping my face hidden from theo. i was starting to feel guilty for not saying hi to him, but still didn't feel ready to face him after last night's encounter.
"anyway, i gotta go. i have a lunch meeting with anna dell'orso in thirty minutes. i'm sure she's going to try to talk me into another ridiculous collaboration." kim said with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"alright, have fun with that." i replied. "text me later, we'll catch up, okay?"
she agreed and we said our goodbyes. i hung up and turned around, only to be met with theo looking right at me. i felt a jolt of excitement and terror run through my body, and i flashed him a nervous smile.
"hello." he said, his voice smooth and velvety. his gaze was steady, and the intensity in his eyes made me feel like i was under a microscope.
i mustered up a small smile and waved. "hi." i felt tongue tied and awkward, my mind racing to find something to say.
"i saw you talking on the phone, but i didn't want to interrupt." he said, his smile warm. he looked at me, his expression hinting at curiosity. "who was that?"
i shifted my weight from one leg to the other, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks. "oh, that was kim." i replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
"ah, the sister?" he asked, his eyes filled with intrigue. he gave me a small smile that sent a flutter through my chest.
i chuckled nervously, fiddling with the strap of my bag. "yeah, that's the one." i joked lightly, trying to play it cool.
"is she doing well?" he asked casually, his smile remaining. it was as if he found my awkwardness amusing. his gaze held mine, making me feel like i should explain myself.
i hesitated for a moment, debating how much to tell him. but then i decided to go with the flow. "she's pretty good. she was just complaining about her current assistant quitting on her suddenly."
he chuckled, a sound that sent tingles down my spine. "it must be tough being a kardashian sometimes." he said, his gaze unwavering.
i chuckled at his comment, feeling a little less nervous in his presence. "you have no idea." i then realized how there weren't two toddlers trickling behind him. "where are your kids?"
he shrugged. "oh, they're with natalia." his tone was aloof, but there was a hint of indifference in his eyes. the air grew tense as if he was daring me to ask a follow-up question.
but i kept my calm and decided not to push any further. "oh, that's good. they seem like good kids." i replied, trying to avoid getting too deep into the rabbit hole of their co-parenting situation.
he nodded, a genuine smile gracing his lips. "yeah, they're wonderful." he said softly. a comfortable silence settled between us, but i could feel the weight of his gaze on me.
i bit my lip in awkwardness as i kept replaying my confession in my mind.
he broke the silence. "so, where are you headed?" he inquired, his tone gentle. "lunch?"
i nodded, feeling a sense of relief that he hadn't brought up the topic that was hanging in the air between us. "yeah, i was about to get something to eat. are you heading out too?"
he nodded. "yeah, there's a lovely restaurant not too far from the shore. have you tried it before?" he asked, gesturing towards the restaurant that was visible from afar.
i couldn't help but smile at his thoughtfulness. "no, i haven't. are you going there?" i asked, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness at the thought of having lunch with him.
"yeah," he replied, his gaze fixed on me. "would you like to join me?" a flicker of hope sparked in my chest at his suggestion.
i felt a surge of joy at his invitation, but i hesitated. would it be weird, considering our circumstances? after all, my confession was still fresh and unresolved. but then again, we were friends, and i didn't want to miss out on spending time with him. "sure, that sounds nice." i replied with a smile.
a small smirk formed on his face, making him look even more attractive. "great, let's go." he gestured for me to follow him.

RISTORANTE PANORAMA CAPRI
capri, italy
1:15pm
the restaurant, ristorante panorama, had a breathtaking view of the cliff side and the sea. the terrace was filled with elegant decor, white and blue lanterns swaying slightly in the breeze. the atmosphere was cozy and romantic, with each table perfectly positioned to take in the beautiful vista of the coastline.
the waiter led us to a table near the edge, its crisp white linen tablecloths and pristine plates set against the serene blue sea beyond. theo pulled out the chair for me, his hand lightly grazing my bare shoulder as i sat. i felt a jolt at his touch, and my skin tingled.
we were the only two seated on the terrace, and the air was filled with a gentle sea breeze. the only sound was the distant lapping of waves against the cliff side, and the occasional clatter of dinnerware.
"it's beautiful," i said softy.
"it is," he responded, looking pleased with my reaction. he took the menu from the waiter and began looking at it, but his gaze flickered to me now and then.
i sighed. "theo?"
he looked up at me, his gaze intense. "yes?" he responded with a small smile.
i hesitated for a moment, before deciding to just be upfront with him. i took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes. "look, i have to ask...are you avoiding what i confessed yesterday because you don't feel the same way, or because you forgot, or something?" i swallowed the lump in my throat, feeling the weight of my words hang in the air. "i just want to know, because if you don't feel the same way, then..." i trailed off.
theo lowered his menu, his expression unreadable. he looked at me intently, as if considering something, then spoke. "no, i didn't forget," he said softly. his gaze was steady, making me feel like he was looking right through me. "and it's not that i don't feel the same way. i do. i really really do." he paused for a beat before going on. "but, it's not that simple."
my heart skipped a beat at his words, relief and hope washed over me. "it's not?" i asked, my voice tinged with hope. i was hanging on his every word.
he took a deep breath, his eyes searching mine. "no, it's not. you know my situation with natalia and my kids. i figured you wouldn't want to deal with all of my baggage. i wouldn't want to bombardon you with it all." he explained, his tone carrying both regret and sincerity. he looked at me with a mix of vulnerability and hopefulness.
i scoffed lightly, "didn't you learn all about philosophy? you should know better than to guess my own feelings." i shook my head, a small smile tugging at my lips. "i confessed to you when i knew you had an ex wife and two kids. i wouldn't have done that if i hadn't truly been up for this or liked you."
he chuckled lightly at my comment, a hint of admiration in his gaze. but his expression quickly turned serious again. "i just want to make sure you know what you're getting into," he said earnestly. "the media scrutiny, the kids, the co-parenting with my ex...it's not easy." he looked at me intently, almost imploring me.
i tilted my head and gave him a small smile. "i'm a kardashian, remember? i've dealt with my share of media attention. i can handle anything." i said, trying to convey my confidence.
he studied me for a moment, as if assessing my words. his eyes were searching, looking for any doubt or uncertainty in my expression. when he found none, he spoke. "you're sure about this?" he asked, his tone both hopeful and cautious.
i looked directly at him, my expression firm. "i'm sure. i like you, theo. seriously." my voice held no hint of wavering, and i hoped he could see the conviction in my eyes.
his gaze softened, a mix of happiness and relief etched on his face. he reached across the table and took my hand in his, his touch gentle and firm. he squeezed my hand slightly, his silent way of thanking me.
he smiled and squeezed my hand again. "good," he said, his voice a low murmur. "because i like you too." his expression was warm, and i felt my heart flutter at his words.
he let go of my hand and picked up the menu again. "let's order something to eat," he said, his tone lighter now. "i hear the seafood here is excellent."
i smiled and picked up my menu, suddenly feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. i glanced at him as he scanned the menu, noticing the way his eyes sparkled as he read the options. he looked at ease, comfortable, and it warmed my heart.
"where's the server? we haven't even ordered drinks yet." i pointed out.
he laughed, a carefree sound that made my heart skip a beat. "patience, i'm deciding what bottle of wine to order." he teased, giving me a small smirk.
i rolled my eyes jokingly, pretending to be exasperated, but i couldn't help but smile. his lightheartedness was contagious, and i felt the last remnants of anxiety melt away.
~~
i put my fork down after finishing a bite of my pasta, feeling the full satisfaction of food. theo and i were enjoying conversation, and the comfortable atmosphere had me feeling relaxed. i chuckled as a thought crossed my mind. "i watched the white lotus," i said, a smile gracing my lips. "you were in that new season, right?"
"oh yeah, i was," he replied, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "you watched it?" he asked curiously, his eyes locked on mine.
"i did," i confirmed, feeling a bit surprised that he seemed intrigued by this admission. "i'm a huge fan of the show, so i watched it as soon as the new season aired." i took a sip of my wine, feeling a pleasant warmth spread through my body.
he leaned back in his chair, a small smile playing at the corner of his mouth. "and what did you think of my character, cameron?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
i tilted my head slightly, trying to recall his character in the white lotus. "he was a covert," i said with a hint of amusement. "a bit of a wild card and a terrible husband. god, he was terrible."
he couldn't help but laugh at my blunt description of his character. "yeah, cameron was definitely a piece of work. i guess i played him convincingly then." he said wryly, swirling his wine in his glass.
"oh, you played him very convincingly," i said, a hint of a challenge in my tone. "he was the type of guy to invite a guy over for drinks, a few rounds of golf, barbecues at his house. the he'll fuck his girl. constantly and consistently. and he'll console the guy when he finds out she's cheated but he'll never admit he's the other man. and he'll keep doing it..." i sighed and spoke again with a smirk. "if i ever find out you're like him."
he chuckled at my playful threat, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "trust me, i'm nothing like cameron," he replied, his tone light but sincere. "i may have played the role convincingly, but i would never do half the things he did. and definitely not to you."
i smiled at his words, feeling a mix of relief and gratitude for his reassurance. "good," i said, playfully raising an eyebrow. "because i wouldn't hesitate to dump your ass the moment you even hint at being like cameron."
he laughed heartily at my reaction, his eyes crinkling in the corners as he chuckled. "duly noted," he said, his eyes sparkling. "i'll make sure to keep my cameron tendencies in check."

HOTEL CAESAR AUGUSTUS
capri, italy
3:30
as we walked into the lobby of the hotel, theo held the door open for me, gesturing for me to walk in first.
i gave him a small smile, feeling a flutter in my chest at the simple act of chivalry. "thank you," i said softly, as i walked past him.
as we walked across the lobby, i couldn't help but notice the way a few people turned to look at us, their eyes curious and intrigued.
"let me walk you to your villa?" theo said referring to the villa rooms.
a small burst of excitement went through me at the offer. "okay," i said, my voice a mix of breathlessness and anticipation.
as we began walking we started to play this game. the question game. the rules weren't discussed, it was just off the bat. "so what's your favorite movie?" theo asked me.
i chuckled, feeling a little giddy as we launched into the game. "my favorite movie, huh?" i said, pretending to think hard about it. "hmmm, i'd have to say the devil wears prada or maybe ten things i hate about you."
he raised an eyebrow, looking slightly amused. "the devil wears prada and ten things i hate about you? really?" he said, sounding slightly incredulous. "i never would've guessed those would be your favorites."
i rolled my eyes good-naturedly, pretending to be offended. "hey, don't judge my movie taste. those are classics, okay? what'd you expect anyway?"
he chuckled, clearly enjoying the banter. "i don't know, i expected something a little more... unpredictable from you. not two rom-coms."
i shook my head. "first of all, the devil wears prada isn't a rom com...and my favorite rom com ever is maid in manhattan."
he seemed surprised, but also slightly amused. "maid in manhattan?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "with j-lo?"
i nodded, smiling. "yeah, with j-lo. it's a guilty pleasure of mine. what can i say, i love a good romantic comedy."
he chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "i didn't think you, a kardashian of all people, would be such a fan of cheesy romantic comedies. especially a movie like maid in manhattan."
i rolled my eyes playfully. "then what's your favorite movie, mr. i know everything about everyone."
he laughed, clearly amused by my playful jab. "okay, okay. i'll tell you my favorite movie." he paused for dramatic effect, then spoke. "die hard."
i couldn't help but laugh at his answer. "die hard?" i repeated, "you're lying! your favorite movie is totally maid in manhattan, you're just using die hard as a cover."
he chuckled, shaking his head in mock-offense. "no, i promise die hard is my favorite movie. i could watch it a hundred times and never get tired of it. bruce willis is the man."
i smiled and nodded. "have you ever seen maid in manhattan?"
he chuckled again, his expression slightly sheepish. "okay, no, i haven't actually seen maid in manhattan. but i know the gist. it's about a maid who falls for a hot, rich guy, right?"
i shook my head, feigning disappointment. "i can't believe you've never seen it. i'm honestly offended. it's a classic." i said as we reached my villa. "you will watch it, i promise you that."
he chuckled and held up his hands in a defensive gesture. "okay, okay. i'll watch it, i swear." he looked genuinely amused. "but only if you promise to watch die hard."
i rolled my eyes with a small smirk, pretending to consider his offer. "fine, you win. i'll watch die hard, if you watch maid in manhattan. you better not back out."
he held up three fingers in the "scouts honor" gesture. "i promise you, i'll watch maid in manhattan." he smiled playfully. "and i hope you like die hard, because it's the best action movie ever made, hands down."
i chuckled, the idea suddenly appealing to me. "why don't we just watch them both together? make a double feature out of it."
he looked genuinely surprised, but also pleased, by my suggestion. "that's actually a really good idea. we could make a night of it, order some takeout, turn it into a movie marathon."
"so, tonight's okay? you don't have the kids?" i asked.
he shook his head, his expression turning slightly more serious. "i don't have the kids tonight. i have them next weekend, so i have the whole night free."
i nodded, a smile pulling at my lips. "perfect...meet here at 7?"
he returned my smile, looking pleased. "yeah, that sounds great. i'll see you at 7."
he stepped closer to me, his eyes locking onto mine. he raised a hand to gently caress my cheek, his touch light and tender. a moment hung suspended in time, and then he leaned down and brushed a soft, lingering kiss against my lips.
i felt a flutter in my chest as his lips touched mine, a mix of surprise and pleasure washing over me. the kiss was brief but filled with a gentle tenderness that left me yearning for more.
he pulled away slowly, his hand still resting on my cheek. his eyes were soft and warm, and i couldn't help but feel a slight pang of disappointment as he stepped back, our moment broken.
"goodbye, kamila." theo said as he started to walk away.
i stood there for a moment, watching him walk away, the feel of his lips on mine lingering on my skin. "bye, theo." i managed to say, a smile still playing on my lips.

6:30pm
with the help of both lorena and cailee, the living room space of my villa had popcorn, wine and all of the essentials to make this a perfect movie marathon night.
"thank you guys so much, seriously." i said as i looked at the beautiful room.
lorena and cailee smiled, looking pleased with themselves. "no problem at all," lorena said, putting the finishing touches on a tray of snacks. "we know how much you love your movie nights."
cailee nodded in agreement. "we just wanted to make sure you had everything you needed." she said, her tone warm and reassuring.
i chuckled, feeling grateful for their thoughtfulness. "well, you guys did an amazing job. this setup is perfect." i said, looking around at the cozy space and the snacks laid out on the table.
cailee smiled wider, a hint of a smirk on her lips. "you're welcome. and we made sure to leave before your boy toy arrives." she teased, her tone playful.
i rolled my eyes slightly, trying to downplay the comment, but i couldn't help the small flutter in my chest at her words. "he's not my boy toy." i retorted jokingly.
lorena chuckled, clearly not believing me. "uh-huh, sure he isn't." she said sarcastically. "he's just a friend who happens to be a super hot bachelor?"
"alright, goodbye." i said ushering the two girls out.
lorena and cailee chuckled as they said their goodbyes, shooting me knowing glances as they walked out the door. "have fun!" cailee called out, a hint of a smirk on her lips.
i rolled my eyes once again, but couldn't help feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves at the upcoming night. "yeah, yeah...bye." i said firmly, closing the door behind them.

6:50pm
as the clock ticked close to 7, my heart started beating quicker. i glanced at myself in the mirror, making sure i looked presentable. i had opted for comfortable loungewear, a pair of leggings and a flowy top. nothing fancy, but i wanted to feel cozy.
i walked over to the living area and adjusted the pillows on the couch, trying to distract myself from the growing anticipation.
just then, there was a knock at the door, and i took a deep breath, feeling the butterflies in my stomach flutter wildly. i walked to the door and opened it, revealing theo standing there.
"hey darling," he said with a smile, his eyes raking over me in a way that made my heart skip a beat. he looked undeniably good, dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt, casual chic.
i smiled back, feeling a bit flustered under his gaze. "hey, come in." i said, stepping aside to let him enter.
he stepped into the room, his presence immediately filling up the space. he looked around, taking in the surroundings. "this place is really beautiful." he said, his tone appreciative. "could i show you something?"
he led me over to the window and pulled back the curtains, revealing a sight that was both unexpected and beautiful. on the beach just outside the villa, he had set up a projector, a few lounge chairs, and a blanket by the water's edge. the setting sun cast a golden glow over everything, and i couldn't help but be impressed by the effort he had put into this makeshift outdoor theater.
i turned to him, completely surprised and enchanted. "you set this up just for us?" i asked, my voice filled with amazement.
he smiled, looking pleased by my reaction. "yeah, i figured it'd be more comfortable to watch the movies outside on the beach. plus, the night sky is supposed to be completely clear, so it'll be a beautiful backdrop for our movie night." he paused and then spoke again, "sorry to ruin your setup. i wanted to surprise you."
i shook my head, waving off his apology. "don't apologize, it's perfect. seriously, this might be the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me." i said genuinely.
his eyes softened, and his smile turned warmer. "i wanted to do something special for you tonight." he said, his tone low and sincere. "let's go outside and get comfortable."
i nodded in agreement, my heart fluttering at his thoughtfulness. "okay, let me grab the snacks and wine, we can't have a movie night without snacks." i said, turning and heading to the living room to gather the bottles of wine and all of the snacks i had prepared earlier.

THE BEACH
capri, italy
8:15
we were an hour into the movie, both of us completely engrossed in the action scenes and bruce willis' charisma. the soft glow of the projector screen played off the waves of the sea, creating a movie atmosphere that felt almost surreal. i glanced over at theo, seeing the rapt attention on his face as he watched.
i bit my lip, feeling a rush of contentment at the moment. the combination of the beautiful location, the iconic movie and theo's presence was making me feel lighter than i had in a long time.
~~
as the final credits rolled, i let out a sigh, feeling content after the adrenaline rush of the movie. i sat up from my lounging position on the blanket and looked over at theo, who also sat up with a look of satisfaction on his face. the night had enveloped the beach in a silvery darkness, the only light coming from the flickering projector and the stars above.
"well, that was a classic," i said, shifting to face him more directly. "i have to admit, bruce willis had my undivided attention the entire time. he's so damn charismatic."
he chuckled, nodding in agreement. "yeah, he's an amazing actor. it's impossible not to get sucked into his performance." he ran a hand through his hair, a move that was unfairly attractive.
"and the stunts," i said, unable to suppress a smile. "so iconic. i don't think any modern action movie could live up to die hard's stunts and action sequences."
he chuckled again, clearly more amused by my sudden passion for the movie. "i can see i've awakened a new love for action movies in you." he teased, a lopsided smile tugging at his lips.
"don't get cocky now, i've always loved action movies...twister, charlie's angels, mission impossible, enemy of the state." i trained off.
he shook his head in mock defeat, his eyes sparkling with laughter. "okay, okay, i stand corrected. you're a connoisseur of action movies." he said, his tone playful. "but i have to ask, what's your favorite action movie of all time?"
i thought for a moment, pretending to contemplate deeply. "tough question," i finally said, dramatically stretching the pause. "but i think i have to go with the fast and furious series. they're iconic."
he raised an eyebrow, pretending to be appalled. "the fast and the furious? really? how cliché." he said with a mocking expression.
i rolled my eyes and moved closer to him. "now let me introduce you to a love for rom-com's." i said as i changed the projector to show maid in manhattan.
he chuckled again, the sound low and amused. he shifted, so he was sitting even closer to me on the blanket. "just promise me one thing?"
i lay down next to him, feeling the warmth of his body against my side. i looked up at him, my gaze curious. "what is it?" i asked.
he looked at me, his eyes soft and serious. "promise me you won't fall asleep halfway through." he said, a hint of a smirk on his lips.
"i'd never fall asleep during a 2000's rom com, don't worry." i said with a smile.
he chuckled, his hand moving to brush a strand of hair out of my face. "good. i promised i would watch maid in manhattan, and i want your full and undivided attention."
~~
the movie was about halfway through. i was fully engrossed now, laughing through the romantic scenes and sympathizing with the main character's struggles. i had almost forgotten that theo was next to me until i felt him shift slightly, his hand moving to intertwine his fingers with mine.
the simple gesture sent a spark of electricity through me, my heart rate suddenly skyrocketing. i tried to concentrate on the movie, but his hand holding mine was all i could think about. i chanced a glance at him, seeing that he was looking at me instead of the screen.
he had a small, almost amused smile on his lips, as if he knew exactly what an effect his touch was having on me. my cheeks flushed, and i quickly looked back to the movie, pretending to be completely engrossed.
he shifted again slightly, pulling me even closer to him. his thumb was tracing gentle circles on the back of my hand, a soft, almost absent-minded motion that sent tingles up my arm.
~~
the credits rolled, and the screen went dark. the silence of the night enveloped us, broken only by the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. i looked over at theo, my senses still on edge from the movie and his proximity.
he was looking at me, a soft smile on his lips. the moon's light created a silvery aura around us, making the moment feel almost dreamlike. he was still holding my hand, his thumb tracing lazy circles on my skin.
"what'd you think?" i asked him softly.
he looked thoughtful for a moment, as if considering his response. "it was...surprisingly good." he finally said, his tone almost begrudging. i could see a hint of mirth in his eyes, as if he was slightly amused by his own admission.
i laughed, finding his reaction endearing. "don't sound so surprised. it's a classic for a reason." i teased, bumping his shoulder with mine.
we had both sipped our way through three bottles of red wine, the alcohol now buzzing pleasantly through our veins. a light, comfortable haze had settled over me, my muscles loose and my inhibitions slightly lowered. i glanced sideways at theo, seeing the tipsy sparkle in his eyes.
"honestly? i don't wanna walk back to the hotel." i admitted.
he chuckled, his laugh low and pleasant. "are you asking me to carry you?" he teased, his voice slightly slurred from the wine.
"no, i'm asking you to stay here with me." i said drunkenly.
he raised an eyebrow, looking intrigued by the suggestion. "stay here?" he repeated. "like sleep out on the beach?"
i shrugged. "i saw in a movie that it's fun."
he laughed again, shaking his head at my tipsy reasoning. "only your movie recommendations," he muttered, but there was no heat behind his words, just playful amusement. he looked down at our still intertwined hands, contemplating for a moment. "alright, i trust you," he finally said. "let's sleep on the beach."
a pleased grin spread over my face as he agreed. "hell yeah!" i said, almost slurring my words. i didn't care if it was a terrible decision, the idea of sleeping under the stars seemed magical at the moment, alcohol emboldening my impulsivity.
he chuckled again, clearly enjoying my enthusiasm. "you're gonna hate this decision tomorrow when you wake up with sand in your hair and back pain from the hard ground." he said teasingly.
i rolled my eyes, waving off his warnings. "pfft, future me can deal with that. right now, i'm too drunk and too happy to care about practicalities."
he chuckled, clearly too amused by my drunken state to argue. "alright, then. we're sleeping on the beach."
and just like that, the plan was set in stone.
as the alcohol continued to flow through our systems, the exhaustion of the long day was beginning to catch up with us. i yawned, feeling my eyelids grow heavy. looking at theo, i could see the tiredness in his eyes.
"i'm tired," i mumbled drunkenly. "wanna just...lie down and sleep?"
as we lay there, side by side, a charged silence settled between us. i could feel his body so close to mine, the warmth of his skin almost burning through my clothes. the drunken haze had heightened my senses, making me hyper aware of his every movement, the sound of his breathing, the heat of his touch.
without even thinking, i turned towards him, my eyes locking onto his. his gaze was intense, the low light of the projector casting deep shadows across his features. without a word, he moved closer, his hand moving to cup my face.
and then, he leaned in, his lips meeting mine in a hungry, almost desperate kiss. the kiss was sloppy and uncoordinated, fueled by the alcohol and the built-up tension of the night. it was fiery and hungry, my hands clawed at his shirt, pulling him closer, trying to eliminate the space between us.
he responded with equal fervor, his arms wrapping around me, tugging me firmly against his chest. his hands tangled in my hair, the slight sting of his grip only adding to the intoxicating heat of the moment.
we continued to kiss, drunk on the taste of each other and the dizzying feeling of skin against skin. the world around us faded away, until there was only the sound of our ragged breaths and the beating of our hearts.
