Casimir Lefevre's Point of View

__________

She danced so gracefully across the stage. Her feet glided with every step. Never stuttering or missing a beat to the harmonious melody. Her movements were mesmerizing. She was like a puppet on strings, controlled flawlessly by an invisible force. She was like a goddess, ethereal and untouchable.

Along with everyone else, I was mesmerized. My eyes wouldn't leave the stage.

As the music reached its crescendo, she came to a stop and the audience erupted in applause. She bowed gracefully before leaving the stage. I couldn't help but be captivated by her performance and I knew that I had to meet her.

When the show was completely finished. I walked to the main foyer, and searched endlessly for her. After much searching, I finally spotted her. She was wearing a simple black dress, her hair cascading down to her shoulders. She looked even more beautiful than on stage.

"Excuse me, I wanted to congratulate you on your performance. It was truly mesmerizing!" I greeted her from behind, holding out my hand for her to shake as she turned around.

"Oh, thank you." She didn't look startled when I greeted her. She could have heard me but with all the chatter around us that's unlikely. She held her hand out to shake, she grabbed my hand with a firm grip. One similar to mine, which makes me want to confirm my suspicions.

"It was a lovely show, do you choreograph your own dance?" I questioned testing my boundaries.

"Yes, I do." She spoke slowly, almost like she's unsure of her own words leaving her mouth. Or like someone who doesn't speak very good English.

"Well it was a pleasure meeting you Cassandra but I have to get going now. Have a wonderful evening." her name confidently left my mouth just as Mr. Wayne was walking towards us. She didn't show her surprise but her eyes widened just a bit, confirming my suspicions.

"Good evening Mr. Wayne." I greeted walking past, he nodded his head in reply before moving to stand next to Cassandra.

"Well it was a pleasure meeting you Cassandra but I have to get going now. Have a wonderful evening." He knew my name, how? I never let it slip in conversation. He doesn't seem to be from around here, so how would he know me?

I felt like I was being watched. I turned around as the unknown man walked away and saw Bruce walking towards me.

"Cass, we need to go now." I felt Bruce slightly push me towards the exit, making me lose my eyesight on the unknown man.

"Why, we leave?" I questioned as I got in the car and clipped in my seatbelt.

"Tim called me, there is a bounty out for Black Bat." Bruce sounded concerned for once.

"How much?" I wanted to know the truth, how much am I really worth to whoever set this bounty.

"One million, wanted dead or alive." Bruce tried to not sound pained, but I could hear the pitch of his voice change slightly.

Everyone was already in the Cave by the time I got there with Bruce.

"We need a plan, what happens when everyone tries to go after Cass? What are we going to do?" Tim questioned trying to strategize with everyone but they were just concerned over me.

"We stay low." Bruce spoke up, informing everyone of his-of my presence. Dick noticed my presence and rushed over to give me a hug and to check for any injuries, finding none.

"No. I won't hide." I spoke up. I'm not going to stand down from a fight. I wasn't taught to do that. I was taught to be strong. Which is what I'll do and what I'll be.

I can tell Bruce isn't happy by that choice. The way his jaw clenched slightly, trying to not be noticeable, but my eyes caught the motion. His body shifted in a way it normally does before an argument breaks out. Out of the corner of my eye I see Tim shifting, unsure about speaking up or not.

Just as he was about to open his mouth Steph spoke up. "Wouldn't it be better if Cass didn't hide? I mean they don't know we know about this, we can use that to our advantage. Can we not?" Steph looks to Tim and Jason for reassurance. Jason was about to speak but Tim cut him off.

"Steph is right. There's no way they think that we know. We use that advantage and try to find out who started this all. Barbara can try rerouting the main post back to the origin point and we can go from there. While everyone else scans the streets for any suspicious activities that could lead back to this. If we all act normal, we can use this to our advantage." Tim spoke confidently, something I rarely see happen. He's trying to reassure himself that this is a good plan. Trying to convince Bruce. Convince me.

I nodded at Tim, approving this plan along with everyone else. I see Bruce sigh, giving in to everyone looking at him.

"Okay fine, we do it that way. Jason I need you to contact your informants in Crime Alley that you trust and see if they heard anything. Tim I want you working with Barbara on figuring out how this all started. When Damian gets back from seeing Talia he will be on the streets with Dick, Steph you're with Cass like always. Watch each others backs. And last of all, please be careful." Bruce ordered. Everyone replied in response, understanding their jobs.

I thought about telling them about the mysterious man, but I would rather investigate that by myself for now. I don't want to cause them any more stress and have them being all over me. I can take care of myself.
