December 1976
Five restless teens made their way through the passageway that would lead them to Honeydukes. The sound of their laughter echoed off of the walls and moved with them. At the front of the group stood James Potter who was engaged in an argument with Sirius and Remus about who was going to win the quidditch Match (Remus genuinely believed that Revenclaw would win and Sirius agreed because he wanted to piss off James). Behind them Annabelladonna remained in conversation with Peter about which Disney movie was the best. Peter was on the side of Snow White and Bella was leaning towards Sleeping Beauty.
"Oh please Snow White is totally better. Aurora was so dumb, why didn't she just not prick her finger."
"She was cursed dumbass she didn't WANT to prick it. Besides if either of them are dumb it's Snow White. I mean seriously, she just walks into some random house and makes herself at home then eats an apple that a stranger gave her, does she have no common sense."
"At least she didn't sleep for a hundred years. God, can you say lazy."
"She didn't sleep willingly you dingbat, have you even watched the movie?"
"Will you two shut up." An exasperated Remus Lupin exclaimed. He was tired of their argument. "Cinderella was obviously the best."
"Okay but the prince in Cinderella was so stupid. How could he not recognize the girl who he supposedly fell in love with? And don't you think having so many different girls try on one shoe is unsanitary." Bella said, furrowing her eyebrow. Peter nodded along in agreement with her points.
"Cinderella was just boring mate." Peter said in a soft voice, he was trying to back his point without coming off as being offensive. The look on Remus's face caused Annabelladonna to have to hide her giggle in Peter's shoulder. The way Remus's eyebrow scrunched in frustration was extremely adorable to Bella for some reason she didn't know.
Remus was growing quite annoyed with them so he decided to ask James and Sirius.
"Well what do you think guys. Cinderella, Snow White, or Sleeping Beauty?"
"I quite enjoyed Pinocchio when I watched it at the carde-" "Pinocchio is not an option Prongs." "Okay than moony I'll have to say Sleeping beauty."
"Thank you! At least someone has good taste." Bella high fived James but he went too high so she hit his wrist more than anything. Bella just sent him a raised eyebrow as if to say 'really?'
"What in the world are you guys talking about?"
"Have you never seen a Disney movie Sirius?"
"No? What's a movie?"
"It's like a moving picture but it portrays a story and it has sound."
"How have you all watched these movies?"
"Well James and I watched them on the Cardell's tv and I assume Peter and Remus's parents showed them."
"The tv is the box thing you have in your living room right prongs?"
"Yes Sirius. For someone taking Muggle studies I would've thought you'd know more about muggles."
"You can't really blame me with the parents I grew up with."
"Donnie grew up with them too and she knows way more than you."
"Yeah but she doesn't really count. She was never there and when she was she just hid the whole time."
'Ouch that hurt' Annabelladonna thought but she just continued walking. Everyone seemed lost for words which made for a really awkward rest of the walk but thankfully they arrived at Honeydukes rather quickly.
"You boys should go ahead I have something to show little Donnie." James said. He was smirking for some reason and all Annabelladonna could think was 'this can't be good.' James led Annabelladonna to the front of honeydukes facing the door and then covered her eyes. When he removed his hand she saw one of her best friends standing in the doorway. James backed away into the crowd after muttering in her ear that he was going to find the boys.
"Ares? How are you here?" Bella squealed then threw her arms around the tall boys neck and hugged him as tightly as she could.
"I apparated, passed my test last week." (Ares is 17, he's one year above Apollo so he's in 7th year)
(Yes this probably isn't possible because it would be too far away but let's pretend you can go as far as you want with apparation)
"But why are you here? Why aren't you at school?"
"Well James actually owled Apollo and told him you've been down so I decided to pop over. You look terrible by the way have you been sleeping well?" Ares traced his thumbs over the dark circles under her eyes.
"Not really. It's hard sleeping alone."
"It must be hard with all of the nightmares."
"Yeah. But never mind that. You're here now, we should go somewhere, I'd show you around but this is my first time here. We can explore together though."
Bella and Ares started by searching Honeydukes for some sweet treats. They kinda went sugar crazy. The small girl ended up leaving the store with a stack 2 Chocolate Frogs, 2 Fizzing Whizzbees, a pack of Fudge Flies, 6 Acid Pops, 3 Blood Pops, and a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and a few Sugar Quills for James. The tall boy left with a Chocolate Wand, some Candy Floss, 3 Caramel Cobwebs, and 4 packs of Fudge Flies. Ares also bought 3 packs of Gummy Worms, 3 pumpkin pastries, 3 Blood Pops, and 3 Chocolate Frogs for Apollo, Gwaine, and Asher.
Grins were set upon both of their faces as they strolled along the streets of Hogsmeade. The taller of the two was wrapped in a yellow and black Hufflepuff scarf that Bella so graciously gave up when he got cold. They ended up at the three broomsticks and both ordered a warm butterbeer. As a kid Bella started developing the same interests as Ares because she looked up to him like she would an older brother. When she started liking the same foods and drinks as him Floria Cardell almost cried because Annabelladonna also developed Ares's appetite and then all three of her kids ate like pigs.
The two found a table as soon as they had their drinks, it was near the corner of the store. They were both talking rather quickly because of the excitement of seeing each other. Bella was a rambling mess but she was happy. For the first time since she arrived at Hogwarts she felt at home, she felt loved, and she didn't feel so alone anymore.
