River and Dakota split up shortly after the fight between Milo and Steven. A few of her friends had shown up and while they caught up, Dakota began to search for Jeremiah and Conrad. He jumps back as someone collides with him.
"Woah. Liz?" Dakota says. The girl looks up with teary eyes, "What's wrong? What happened?"
"Nothing." She says. She tries to walk past him, but he catches her arm.
"No, no, no, no. Tell me what's going on. Talk to me." The girl sighs as the tears start to fall. Dakota looks her over, "Liz."
"Did Conrad come to you about our relationship?"
Dakota freezes as the girl looks up at him. His mouth opens and closes as he searches for an answer. Liz chuckles humorlessly as she turns away. He doesn't get a chance to respond before she walks off into the party.
"Liz." He calls out. The girl was quickly lost in the sea of partygoers, "Shit."
He turns and his eyes immediately lock on Conrad. He rushes over, "Dude, what the hell happened?"
"Nothing."
"It's not nothing, alright? My sister is crying." Dakota says
"Skye told us that there's a chance we can get the house back."
"Okay, thats a good thing."
"No, it's not, because it wouldn't be ours. We'd be renting it from somebody else. There's no point."
"Okay, but what the hell does that have to do with you and Liz? She's pissed at me for not telling her you came to me about you guys." Dakota says. Conrad sighs, "Because you turned around and told me not to say anything."
"I know. I know."
"So, what the hell happened?"
"Jeremiah brought it up. He tried to throw it in my face because he's upset with me." Conrad says, "She wasn't supposed to know."
Dakota sighs as he runs a hand through his hair. Conrad looks down, "I'm sorry."
Conrad steps past Dakota into the party. Dakota clenches his jaw before taking a deep breath. He shakes his head before muttering to himself, "Fuck."

River hadn't seen anyone she really knew in over an hour. Liz disappeared, she hadn't seen Belly or Jeremiah or even Taylor. And she became increasingly worried as she failed to find Dakota.
She sighs as she stops and looks around the party. Her eyes then finally land on Dakota. He threw another shot back and swayed as he set the cup back down. As she rushed over, he began pouring himself another cup.
She grabs the cup from his hand as he goes to sip from it, "What the hell?"
"How many of these have you had?" She says chucking the cup into the sink
"What does it matter?" He slurs
River frowns, "You told me you'd be fine."
"I am fine." He says, "I'm enjoying my last night in this house. Doing exactly what everyone else is."
"You're not fine. You're drunk. And way past any kind of drunk I've ever seen you."
"River-"
"No." She says grabbing his arm, "Let's go."
Dakota stays silent and lets River pull him through the house and up the stairs. As she pushes the door open, the two teens in there jump, "Get out."
River's tone left no room for argument as the teens rush out. She shuts the door behind them and leads him toward their belongings.
"You're pissed at me, aren't you?" Dakota mutters
River stays silent as she fixes the blanket on the floor. She grabs the sweater beside her fixing it as a pillow.
Dakota sniffles, "You're not the only one."
River stands up with a sigh, "I'm not mad, Dakota."
"Could've fooled me." He slurs
River looks between his eyes before looking away, "Lay down."
She watches as he plops down on the blanket. She kneels in front of him and begins untying his shoes, "You told me you were gonna have it under control."
"I did."
"So, then what happened?" She says tossing his shoe aside before untying the other
"Liz is pissed at me."
River frowns, "What? Why?"
"Because I didn't tell her about Conrad."
She tosses his other shoe aside while shaking her head, "You're not making any sense."
"We're gonna forget about Susannah." He says. River stops her movements and watches him. His face scrunching up as he stared ahead, "We lost the house and none of it is gonna be the same again."
"Dakota." River sighs
He lets out a sob as River crawls over to him. She sits beside him then wraps her arms around him and pulls him into her. Dakota's arm wraps lazily around her waist as he sobs. River's own heart breaking as the sobs wracked his body.
"It's okay." She says softly in his ear, "We'll figure it out, okay? And you and Liz will be okay."
"It's all falling apart." He cries, "Everything. Everything's falling apart."
"Shh." She hushes softly rubbing his shoulder, "You're okay. I'm right here."
