Jungkook walked toward the parking area of the university while Yerin walked beside him. They both talked about the lecture they had just attended as they walked. At least, now she had a person who shared the same passion and dream as her. She was glad that Jungkook was also majoring in law.

However, Yerin halted her steps when Jungkook stopped walking. He was looking straight ahead, specifically at someone, with his blank eyes. She followed his gaze and gasped at the scene. Mina was hugging a boy, and placed a kiss on his cheek before breaking the hug.

Yerin glanced back at Jungkook, whose eyes were devoid of any emotion. She again looked at the boy carefully to see who he actually was. When he turned around, Yerin widened her eyes as she realized who that person was.

"That's her childhood best friend. His name is Seojun," she whispered before looking back at Jungkook. "I never knew that they had something going on between them."

Getting no response from Jungkook, she hesitantly placed her hand on his arm, grabbing his attention. "It hurts, right?"

Jungkook looked into her eyes; her words rang in his head before he said, "To be honest... no."

She carefully listened to him as he continued, "It doesn't hurt anymore, Yerin. Initially, it did. But now, it doesn't." He stepped closer to her. "Do you know why?"

He leaned his mouth closer to her ear as he whispered, "Because now I'm the villain here." He again stared into her eyes as he continued, "Because I'm doing the same thing she is doing to me. It feels even and fair. You know, it feels like my heart's pain is fading away, knowing that I'm also not so good."

His eyes glistened with tears as he uttered the last sentence. He broke eye contact and looked ahead instead. "You made me the person I'm right now, Mina Myoi."

Seojun left, and Jungkook instantly walked toward his car, followed by Yerin. As Mina spotted them, her face appeared almost normal, as if she were not regretting anything she was doing. Yerin couldn't believe that this was her best friend.

She stumbled over her words a little as she said, "Oh! Jungkook, it's good you came. I was waiting for you."

The statement made Yerin scoff internally. She wasn't going to act like a bitch just because she was her best friend. Mina was wrong this time.

Mina smiled at him and slipped her hand around his arm. "Should we go on a small date?"

Jungkook contemplated whether she was actually a fool, acting like a fool, or if she was taking him for a fool. He slowly removed her hand from his arm, his eyes staring deadly into hers, as he said, "No, Mina. I have some work with Yerin. I don't have time."

Mina slightly glanced at Yerin before looking back at him. "It's alright. What about tomorrow?"

"Actually, I have a lot of assignments. I hope you wouldn't want to disturb my studies, right, babe?" his tone was harsh as he repeated the same dialogue she used to tell him. It felt like this time Jungkook was hinting to her that he would also fuck around the same way she did behind his back, while using the same excuse of freaking assignments.

Mina looked at him as he held Yerin's arm before making her sit in the passenger seat. They both drove away while Mina just watched the car disappearing from her sight.

"The ramen is ready."

Jungkook said loudly; his voice echoed throughout the apartment. Yerin came running toward him before settling down at the dining table. Jungkook grinned at her before placing the late-night dinner in front of her. They were actually completing their assignments together and decided to end the late-night session with some ramen.

Jungkook took on the duty, and in a few minutes, it was already ready. She slurped the noddles and sighed in satisfaction. The taste was so good that she couldn't believe that ramen could be made this good well. Surely, it was the best ramen she had ever had, which made her lose the bet.

Apparently, she had challenged him, claiming he was not as good a cook as he said he was. But now, certainly, she was seemingly losing the bet.

They both finished the noodles in some time, during which Yerin smiled in contentment. She took the plates and placed them in the sink before starting to wash them. Suddenly, two hands hovered above hers, while a very familiar breath brushed against her neck. She felt chills running down her spine as he helped her wash the dishes.

She cleared her throat and continued her work, trying to distract herself from his actions. Soon, a pair of lips landed on her shoulder, making her shiver at the sensation. He teasingly slid his lips from her shoulder to her neck, followed by her jawline.

She winced when he dug his teeth into her skin. He rinsed the last plate and pulled her closer to him by her waist. She slightly pushed him away and turned around to look at him. Her cheeks were heated due to all the things this man was doing to her.

"What are you doing, Mr. Jeon?" she asked while blushing, her deep red cheeks betraying her tone. He chuckled and settled his hands on either side of her at the counter.

He had a teasing smile on his face, his eyes showing mischief as he said, "Nothing, Ms. Lee. I was just testing your patience. And guess what?" He leaned toward her ear. "You are not patient at all, kitten."

She scoffed playfully before saying, "That's just your hallucination. It's already midnight, so you should get out of my apartment."

His smile never left his face as he said in his seductive deep voice, "Are you sure you want me to leave?"

"Yes, Mr. Villain."

She dragged her in front of the main door as she hinted for him to leave. However, he snaked his hand around her waist before saying, "And what about my bet?"

She removed his hand from her waist. "Well, actually, not today. Better luck next time."

He blinked his eyes as she opened the door for him. She pushed him out of her apartment as he said, "Don't forget about the bet, Yerin. You will have to do whatever I say."

"Yeah, I know. Now, get lost."

She closed the door in his face before smiling cheekily. Likewise, Jungkook walked toward his apartment with a stupid smile resting on his face.

They both didn't know what was happening to them.
Because, this... was definitely not just hooking up anymore.
