“Oh damn! I will definitely be late today," Yerin muttered to herself while picking up her car keys from the table.

It was already 8 in the morning, and she hadn't reached the university yet because she had overslept after completing her assignments the night before. She completed the assignments till midnight, and even after that she couldn't get a peaceful sleep because her new neighbour was shifting in, last night.

She hurried out of the house, ensuring that her door was locked. She made her way to the elevator.

She arrived at the university just before the lecture was about to start. She silently apologized for disturbing the class before walking toward her seat. The most unfortunate thing was that it was a test day, which she definitely hadn't studied, thanks to the club night she had three days ago. She should have prepared for the test last night; however, she ended up doing the assignments whose deadline was already past.

She groaned before taking out her notes and going through them, hoping that they would help her at least pass the test.

"So, students, as you know, we have a test today. I hope you all are well prepared. Before that, I would like to introduce you to your new fellow classmate," the professor said out loud, but Yerin paid the least attention to the new student. She just wanted to pass the test, anyhow.

Some footsteps were heard, indicating that the new student had entered. However, Yerin still revised her notes. But she instantly looked at the front after recognizing that familiar, deep, chilling voice.

"Good morning, everyone. I'm Jeon Jungkook. I hope we all get along."

Her jaw dropped as she realized that he was actually the new student. Above all, he was in her classroom.

He looked up at everyone, but his eyes stopped wandering once he spotted Yerin sitting in the class. His face had the same expression as hers— shocked.

The professor told him to take his seat. He obeyed and moved toward the back of the class, while his eyes were still on her. Yerin quickly looked down at her notes, cursing herself internally. She was surely going to regret everything.

While doing the test, she could feel his sharp gazing from behind. Chills ran down her spine every minute, but she didn't even spare him one glance.

The bell rang, indicating halftime. She quickly gathered her things and stuffed them in her bag before swinging it onto her back. She swiftly made her way towards the door in order to avoid him.

While she was walking toward the cafeteria, she bumped into someone. She looked ahead, ready to burst out at the person, but only found her best friend, Mina.

Mina was known to be a beautiful and elegant lady who just knew how to spread positivity. With her black long hair and ethereal Japanese beauty, she could turn all the eyes toward her.

"What happened, Yerin? Where are you going in such a rush?" she asked while looking at her with concern.

Yerin sighed at her before saying, "Nothing, Girl. I was going to the cafeteria. Let's go together."

Mina smiled at her and nodded her head in agreement with Yerin's statement. They both walked into the cafeteria while talking about their weekends and everything. Obviously, Yerin didn't tell her about the club night, knowing how big of a tease Mina was.

They both sat down at one of the tables after taking their food. Yerin was immersed in her meal when Mina called someone while smiling brightly. When the person approached the table, she instantly recognized the scent. She knew this scent very well.

Yerin looked up only to find him staring back at her. Mina went to give him a quick hug before asking him about his whereabouts. Yerin just sat there silently, confused by the fact that Mina knew Jungkook in some way.

Soon after, Mina turned toward her before introducing him to Yerin. What a pity that she actually didn't have a hint of how well they knew each other.

"Yerin, this is Jungkook. And Jungkook, this is my best friend, Lee Yerin," Mina said as he extended his hand, which Yerin accepted after a few moments. But what shocked Yerin was the next sentence uttered by her best friend: "You always asked about my boyfriend, right? So, this is my boyfriend, Jeon Jungkook."

Her heart stopped for a moment as she looked at Mina's face. Her hands went cold while she felt chills throughout her whole body. Her lips became dry as she processed the information: she had slept with her best friend's boyfriend.

She glanced at Jungkook's face before looking at their hands. She quickly retracted from the handshake while tears started pricking her eyes. She wanted to speak but couldn't because of the panic developing inside her. She looked everywhere but at Mina. She was not even able to look into her eyes. Only she knew how much she regretted the whole thing now.

Mina told them to sit, causing Yerin to fall into her seat. For several minutes, she just looked down at her food while Mina talked with Jungkook. Basically, Mina talked, and he listened.

He just blankly stared at Yerin, but she kept her head down. He never imagined that he would meet Yerin again in this way.

Soon a handsome man joined the table, gaining the attention of the others. He had proportionate and striking features, with a straight nose and well-defined jawline, and his black locks fell over his eyes. His good height contributed to his cold and dark demeanour.

Mina smiled at him while he smiled back a little in acknowledgement. He glanced at Yerin briefly, which didn't go unnoticed by Jungkook. He wanted to know who this person was, and all his questions subsided when Mina said, "Jungkook, this is Cha Eunwoo."

Eunwoo extended his hand when Mina introduced Jungkook as her boyfriend, to which Jungkook responded. However, the next line uttered by Mina was not so pleasing for him.

"He is Yerin's boyfriend."

Everyone ate the food silently, but two of them were deep in thoughts. They were not satisfied with the mess they had created, and this was eating them inside. They both shared one common thought: they were already dating and still made this mess.

What did this situation make them?
Cheaters?

Yerin parked the car in the parking area of her apartment building. She sighed heavily before getting out of the car and walking toward the building. She lazily made her way to the elevator and got in before clicking the button for the fifth floor.

She leaned against one of the walls of the elevator before closing her eyes. Her mind was completely overwhelmed with all types of thoughts. She still wanted it to be just a dream and hoped that she would wake up from this terrible dream. But she realized it was reality. She went there to escape reality but ended up making it harsher for herself. The guilt was destroying her completely.

The elevator doors opened, prompting  her to walk out and head toward her apartment. She glanced at a new figure in the hallway, who was entering his password to get inside. She stood in front of her door and typed in the passcode.

The door clicked, and she grabbed the doorknob. She was going to step inside when her mind suddenly clicked with a thought. She quickly glanced back at the man who was her new neighbour but found him looking back at her.

Jungkook.
It was Jeon. Freaking. Jungkook.

She quickly stepped inside before closing the door behind her. She slid against the door and sat on the floor. She rubbed her face with her hands while some tears escaped her eyes.

What worse could have happened?
She didn't want to admit that Jeon Jungkook was her new neighbour. The person with whom she slept three days ago was her best friend's boyfriend and now her new freaking neighbour.

And here she knew,
She was screwed.
