Eddie's eyes shot open as he sat up in bed, reaching up to his face Eddie wiped off the tears that had fallen from his eyes.

'Another nightmare.' He thought as he recalled the last moments he had with (Y/n), it wasn't fair every night Eddie had that dream, and every night he wished it would end differently. He wished that it would end with (Y/n) alive and in the hospital so that when Eddie woke up that dream would actually be the reality, it would be a memory itself rather than a dream.

A knock on the door snapped Eddie out of his thoughts as the door creaked open with Steve's head poking in.

"Eddie, are you awake?" Steve asked fully opening the door when he saw that Eddie was sitting up in bed. "Um, it's time to get ready," Steve says, but it took Eddie a while to process what he meant.

"Oh, right, right, I was just about to get ready," Eddie says as he got up out of bed, Steve nods and closes the door leaving Eddie to get ready on his own. Eddie was quick and looked at himself one last time, today was the day, a big day in fact, today was the day of his trial. While the group did manage to make a convincing case around Eddie's innocent the police still wanted a proper trial due to the pressure of the town and so they marked the calendar for today, wanting to get it out of the way as soon as possible.

Eddie let out one last sigh as he walked out the door and to Steve's living room, Steve was currently sitting at the dinner table finishing up his own breakfast.

"Morning, you have time to eat before we have to leave if you want," Steve says placing his dishes in the sink but Eddie shook his head. "Nah, I, um I think I'm too nervous to eat anything I just wanna finish this as fast as possible," Eddie says as Steve stared at him with sympathy in his eyes.

"Oh, yeah, of course. Well, um, I'll wait for you out by the car." Steve says walking out the door as Eddie looked around the room one last time before heading out to the door.

Eddie hesitated a bit but eventually opened the door and stepped outside into his unpredictable future, sure the past was where his brother was but perhaps Eddie would have to learn that you can still hold the past dear to you without letting the future pass you by, and so for the first time since he had gotten out of the hospital he felt hope as he closed door ready to face whatever was to come.

(A/n): And with that, this book has officially ended! I just wanted to take this time to thank anyone who has read this book all the way through it really means a lot to me especially because this was a book idea I was so excited to work on and it feels so surreal that it is finally over. Depending on when season 5 comes out and what the plot is I might come back and do it for this book but for now, the story is pretty much complete and I hope you enjoyed the story just as much as I enjoyed writing it. There are still two extra chapters, which will probably already be up once you read this so I also hope you enjoy those two and have a good night/day/afternoon!
