{everybody loves a clown - part one}
Ana and the brothers are at John's funeral, which like every hunter it is a pyre. The only light comes from the wrapped burning body. Sam is near tears and fidgeting; Dean is tightly holding Ana's hand which she doesn't mind. Ana's back was on Dean's chest as his arms were around her keeping her close. Dean was staring into the flames silently.
"Before he...before, did he say anything to you? About anything?" Sam asks his brother who doesn't even look at him.
"No. Nothing." Dean says as Ana could tell that from how Dean said it that he was lying, but she didn't want to say anything about it. Even she doesn't know, as what John had told Dean, she was sleeping which makes sense because she finally slept peacefully, because she was in Dean's arms not in her hospital bed.
For as long as Ana has been dating Dean, he has always rubbed his thumbs on her knuckles anytime that he got the chance, because it always kept her calm and depending on it, it was his way of telling her that it is okay. Ana did the same thing that Dean has always done with her. As the three of them are staring at the fire of John's burning body, Ana softly rubbed Dean's knuckles which only really made his arms tighten more around her which she didn't mind. Ana was telling him that it is going to be okay. She also could have sworn that she heard a faint 'i love you' coming from Dean.
one week later
It has been a week since John's funeral, and if Ana is being honest, she hasn't seen Dean that much in a week. Not that she blames him. But she also knows that he is bottling up his emotions. She wants to try to talk to him, but she doesn't know how it is going to go. She doesn't want to try to say something and Dean snaps at her, so she has been keeping her distance a little from him.
She has been keeping herself busy around the house, and like always she has a book in her face to pass the time. Occasionally, along with a bottle of whiskey beside her as she is reading. When she isn't reading or drinking, she has been going through her own emotions and also grieving the loss of the baby that she had lost. She still can't believe that her of all people were pregnant. She wonders what would have happened if the car accident hadn't happened. She would keep the baby either way because the last thing that she wants to do is get rid of the baby.
Even if at the current time she isn't ready to settle down and have kids, she also wants to figure out her life. If any when she stops hunting, what would she do with her life. She never really thought about what she would do if she wasn't supernatural hunting. Then again, she never really was the type of person to figure out your goals and stuff growing up. She always went with the flow. Went with what the days brought on.
She sighs as she turns the page of a lore book, Sam is doing his own thing, all that she knows is that he is going through John's phone, her dad is somewhere doing something, and Dean is out in the junkyard working on the impala. She has seen Dean but doesn't know if she wants to see her.
"Why don't you go try talking to Dean and see how it goes." Was a voice that made Ana jump as she looked up and saw that it was her dad. Ana thinks about it before she sighs and shrugs her shoulders. "I get it, you don't want to go to him, but if anything, he needs you. He may push you away or somethin', but he loves you." He says, which made Ana nod her head as she knew that he was right. Dean does need her, but does he want to talk to her, is what she wants to know.
"Yeah, I guess." Ana says as she got up before she grabbed the bottle of whiskey and walked in the direction of the back door where Dean is. She walked a little closer which it didn't take her that long to find Dean. There was some music playing in the background as there was a couple trays on wheels of car tools that Bobby has. Ana stood there for a couple moments not knowing what to say.
Typically, she'd know what to say, but now she doesn't. If she is being honest, she doesn't know if Dean wants to even see her. Let alone talk to her. Because like her, Dean bottles up his emotions and there comes a point where he'd bottle up too much and be snaps. She takes a deep breath before she gets a little closer to the car and where Dean is.
"Hey." Ana says softly which made Dean jump as he probably didn't see her there which made Ana frown a little, but she quickly hid it with a small smile instead. Which makes sense because he probably didn't see her coming. Then again, he is under a car.
Ana watches Dean as he puts the tool that was in his hand down onto the ground, as he rolled out from underneath the car. Ana had a small smile on her face, as Dean returned it. "Hey, baby." He says to her just as softly as she said 'hey' to him.
"I would ask how are you, but we all know that is a stupid ass question." Ana says to Dean which makes him look at her which made him huff a laugh as she wasn't wrong.
"I'd still let you ask that question, but anyone else they can go fuck themselves." Dean says, as he sat up on the ground and looked up at his redheaded girlfriend in front of him. "Look, I know I've been avoiding you by keeping my distance. I'm sorry baby, I am. You don't deserve that at all." Dean says which makes Ana's smile that she did have on her face disappear just like that.
Ana crouches down to his level and swallows a little before she responds. "You have your reasons. I get it, I really do." Ana says which makes Dean shake his head at her. "It's not your fault, don't beat yourself up about it, okay." She says as Dean nods his head.
"Okay." Dean says as Ana's smile comes back on her face. He gently grabbed her hand and carefully brought her onto his lap, where he didn't waste any time of hugging her as tight as he could. Despite him having oil and dirt and grease on his shirt and on him, he wrapped his arms around her, as he had his face buried in the crook of her neck. "I love you sweetheart." He says softly in her ear which made her heart flutter. He needed her in his arms, he needed her. More than anything. He could try to deny that he wouldn't need her, but he does. She is the only person that can get away with asking 'how are you' or 'how are you feeling', but anyone else he will say that 'I'm fine'.
"I love you too, D." Ana says softly to Dean as he presses a kiss on her neck. "How is the car comin'?" She asks.
"Slowly getting somewhere." He says to her as she nods her head as his lips slowly make their way to her lips. The kiss was soft which neither of them minded, it was nothing too deep, like it normally is.
"That's good." Ana says in between the kiss as Dean pulled away before he gave her a quick peck on the lips. He moved a little so that his chin is now on her shoulder, and her chin is on his shoulder.
The two were sitting like this for a couple minutes, not that neither of them seemed to mind at all. They actually enjoyed it. After a while of the two being together, Dean went back to working on the car. Ana hasn't left Dean's side, not that he minded. He said that if she did leave that he would take away her cuddle privileges. So, in order to keep her cuddle privileges, she stayed. No one messes with her cuddles.
Sam approaches the two as Dean is underneath the car, Ana took a sip from the whiskey. She gave a small salute to the younger Winchester who returned it. "How's the car coming along?" Sam asks his older brother.
"Slow." Dean says still underneath the car.
"Yeah? Need any help?" Sam asks his brother.
Dean drops a tool underneath the car. "What, you under a hood? I'll pass." He says.
"Need anything else, then?" Sam asks as Dean pushes himself out from under the car and stands up, when he stands up, he helped Ana up.
"Stop it, Sam." Dean says to his brother.
"Stop what?" Sam asks as Dean makes his way to the tools on wheels is, and grabs something.
"Stop asking if I need anything, stop asking if I'm okay. I'm okay. Really. I promise." Dean says as Sam looks at Ana who shrugs at the younger Winchester.
"Alright, Dean, it's just... We've been at Bobby's for over a week now and you haven't brought up Dad once." Sam says.
"You know what? You're right. Come here. I'm gonna lay my head gently on your shoulder. Maybe we can cry, hug, and maybe even slow dance." Dean says as Ana tries to stop the smile that is forming on her lips, but she couldn't help the small smile that was on her lips.
"Don't patronize me, Dean. Dad is dead. The Colt is gone, and it seems pretty damn likely that the demon is behind all of this, and you're acting like nothing happened." Sam says as Ana sighs as she takes a swig of the whiskey.
"What, do you want me to say?" Dean asks his brother.
"Say something, alright? Hell, say anything! Are you angry? Don't you want revenge? But all you do is sit out here all damn day long buried underneath this damn car." Sam says as Ana wasn't going to say anything, but he wasn't wrong. It was the truth.
"Revenge, huh?" Dean asks a little sarcastically.
"Yeah." Sam replies to his brother.
"Sounds good. You got any leads on where the demon is? Making heads or tails of any of Dad's research? Because I sure ain't. But you know, if we do finally find it - oh. No, wait, like you said. The Colt's gone. But I'm sure you've figured out another way to kill it. We've got nothing, Sam. Nothing, okay? So, you know the one thing I can do? Is I can work on the car." Dean says as he crouches by the car, getting back to work.
"Well, we got something, alright?" Sam asks as he pulls out a cell phone. "It's what I came here to tell you. This is one of Dad's old phones. Took me a while, but I cracked his voicemail code. Listen to this." Sam says as he hands the phone to Dean, who stands and reluctantly takes it.
"John, it's Ellen. Again. Look, don't be stubborn, you know I can help you. Call me." The voice says as Ana recognizes it immediately. Ellen Harvelle. Ana is friends with her daughter, Amelia. Though the two girls haven't talked in about a year and a half. Last, Ana knew was that Amelia was working in Seattle, Washington.
"That message is four months old." Sam says to his brother as Dean and Ana look up at the youngest Winchester.
"Dad saved that chick's message for four months?" Dean asks his brother.
"Yeah." Sam says to his brother.
"Well, who's Ellen? Any mention of her in Dad's journal?" Dean asks as Sam shook his head.
"No." Sam says, as Ana's eyes go between the two brothers.
"I know where she lives." Ana says as the two brothers turn their heads to look at her.
"How do you know?" Sam asks Ana.
"I'm friends with her daughter." Ana says to Sam as he nods his head.
───※ ·❆· ※───
Dean is driving a beat up, but poorly maintained minivan. Dean had Ana's directions of how to get to the Roadhouse. The three of them then get out of the minivan. "This is humiliating. I feel like a frickin' soccer mom!" Dean says throwing a fit like a child which made Ana smile a little at. He sounded like he was throwing a temper tantrum because he doesn't want to do something. It is funny if Ana is being honest.
"It is the only car that dad had running." Ana says to her boyfriend as they start walking towards the doors to the Roadhouse. "Hello? Anybody here? It is Anastasia."
The three of them go inside, the saloon is quiet except for a fly buzzing. A light bulb blows out. The three of them go to the back and see a man passed out on a pool table. Ana recognizes the man as Ash, he is a guy who lives at the Roadhouse. It has been years since Ana has seen the man.
The three of them split up, as Ana goes down the steps and then pauses when she feels the point of a gun touch her back through her flannel that she is wearing over her t-shirt. The rifle cocks, revealing a blonde girl, named Amelia Harvelle. "Please let that be a rifle." Ana says underneath her breath.
"I'm just really happy to see you." Amelia says to Ana.
"You know, Mia. When you put a rifle on someone, you don't want to put it right against their back. Because it makes it really easy to do..." Ana says as she turns fluidly, grabbing the rifle and cocking it as the bullet escapes the gun. "That." "Dean!" Ana calls out to the brothers.
"Can't baby, we're a little tied up." Dean says as Ana turns to Dean and sees that his hands are on his head with Jo behind him with a rifle on his back, like Amelia had her rifle behind Ana's back, along with Sam who has Ellen behind him.
"Dean? Sam? Winchester?" Ellen says as Amelia looks at her mother.
"Yeah." Dean and Sam say to the older woman.
"Son of a bitch." Ellen says as she turned to Ana. "I'm guessing you're dating one of them." Ana nods her head at Ellen. "I'm just gonna take a wild shot and say Dean." Ellen says as Ana nods her head again.
"Guilty." Ana replies to the woman as she laughs a little.
"Should have known." Amelia adds to what her mother said, as she is visiting from Seattle.
"Mom? Mia? You know these guys?" Jo asks her mother and older sister.
"Yeah, the redhead is Anastasia. She is Bobby Singer's daughter." Amelia says to her younger sister as Jo nods her head. "The two guys are Dean and Sam. They're John Winchesters' kids."
"For those who don't know me. Hi, I'm Ellen and this is my daughters Jo and Amelia." Ellen says to the two boys.
"Hey." Jo and Amelia say in unison to the brothers.
Amelia hands Dean a small towel filled with ice, as Ana, Sam and Dean sit at the bar. "Here you go, it should help." Amelia says to the oldest Winchester.
"Thanks." Dean says to Amelia, before he turned back to Ellen. "You called our dad said you could help. Help with what?"
"Well, the demon of course. I heard he was closing in on it." Ellen says as Dean looks at Ana who shrugs her shoulders. Dean then looks back at Ellen.
"Well, was there an article in the Demon Hunters Quarterly that I missed? I mean, who are you?" Dean asks Ellen as Ana takes a drink from her whiskey like always.
"How do you know about this?" Ana asks more calmer than Dean is right now. Then again, he doesn't know Ellen, so it makes sense.
"Hey, my mom just runs a saloon." Amelia pipes up to the eldest Winchester making him look down a little before looking back up at Ellen.
"But hunters have been known to pass through now and again. Including your father a long time ago. John was...like family once." Ellen says to the two Winchesters and Ana.
"Oh yeah? How come he never mentioned you before?" Dean asks as Ana shakes her head a little at what Dean said. More like how he said it. But she isn't going to say anything. He knows how apprehensive he is about new people that he doesn't know.
"You'd have to ask him that." Ellen says as Amelia refilled Ana's whiskey glass, as Ana gave the eldest Harvelle daughter a small smile as a thanks. Amelia returned the small smile.
"So, why exactly do we need your help?" Dean asks as he moves the towel that had the ice on his forehead where Jo had punched him.
"Hey, don't do me any favors." Ellen says to Dean as Sam is sitting on the opposite side of Ana, as the redhead is sitting in the middle of the Winchester brothers.
"Look, if you don't want my mom's help, fine. But don't let the door smack your ass on the way out." Amelia sasses to Dean which makes him look at her, before looking back to Ellen.
"But John wouldn't have sent you if..." Ellen says as she stops the realizes, that John didn't send the three of them. "He didn't send you, didn't he?" Ellen asks as Ana shakes her head. "He's alright, isn't he?"
Sam shakes his head at what Ellen says. "No. No, he isn't. It was the demon, we think. It, it just got to him before he got it. I guess." Sam says as Ana takes another swig of the whiskey.
"I'm so sorry." Ellen says.
"It's okay. We're alright." Dean says to Ellen.
"Really? I know how close you and your dad were." Ellen says to the eldest Winchester.
"Really, lady I'm fine." Dean says a little sarcastically to Ellen.
"So, look if you can help, we could use all the help we can get. Ana might be tech savvy but she isn't as tech savvy, like we need. If that makes sense." Sam says to Ellen before he turns to Ana who only shrugs her shoulders agreeing with Sam.
"Well, we can't. But Ash will." Ellen says as Ana has a small smile on her face at the mention of Ash.
"Who's Ash?"
"See that guy on the pool table?" Ana asks Dean as he looks at the pool table and sees the sleeping body of Ash. "That's Ash." She says. "Ash!" Ana calls out making Ash jerk awake and sits up nearly falling off the pool table that he was laying on.
"What? Is it closin' time?" Ash asks.
"Sup dude." Ana greets the man who stands up and walks towards the small group.
"Stasia? What are you doing here?"
"I would say visiting, but that is a lie. We need your help." Ana says to Ash who gave the red head a small wave.
"What do you need?" Ash asks without hesitation. Ana hands him a brown folder, and also on top of the folder is John's journal. Amelia pours the Winchester brothers glasses of water.
"This is about a years' worth of John's work, so, what can you make of it?" Ana asks the long-haired man next to her. How, Ana knows Ash is through Amelia and Jo.
Ash pulls out the papers from the folder and starts rifling through them as Ana looks at him anticipating what he is going to say. She knows that Ash could come up with something, because like Ana who is a lore geek, Ash is a tech geek in a way. Hence why Ana sometimes calls him 'techie' or 'tech guy'. He then shakes his head at Ana as Dean stands next to Ana.
"This guy is no genius. He is a Lynyrd Skynyrd roadie." Dean says next to Ana, as Ash looks at the boyfriend of Ana with a small smile on his face.
"I like you." Ash says as he continues to read through the papers that were in the folder. "This crap ain't real. There ain't nobody can track a demon like this." Ash says about the papers in the folder.
"Our dad could." Sam says to Ash.
"There are non-Parametrics, statistical overviews, prospects and correlations. I mean damn! There's signs. Omens. Uh, if you can track 'em, you can track this demon. You know, like crop failures, electrical storms... You ever been struck by lightning? It ain't fun." Ash explains to the two Winchesters and Ana, as Dean has his arm around Ana's back keeping her close. She has her head onto his shoulder, as from behind Sam, Amelia's eyes haven't left the younger Winchester.
"Can you track it?" Ana asks the guy that is standing next to her at the bar.
"Yeah, with this. I think so. But it's gonna take time, uh, give me...fifty-one hours." Ash says as Ana nods her head, as she drinks another shot of whiskey. Ash gets up to leave before Dean stops him.
"Hey, man?"
"Yeah."
"I, uh, I dig the haircut." Dean says as Ana smiled a little at what Dean said.
"All business up front, party in the back." Ash says as Ana was mouthing the words, as it wasn't the first time that she has heard Ash say that.
"Where is the bathroom at?" Dean asks.
"Down the hall and to the right." Ana says without looking up at the three Harvelle's look up at Ana before they nodded their heads at her.
"Thanks." Dean says as he kissed Ana's head before he got up and headed in the direction of the bathroom.
"Hey, what's that?" Sam asks as Amelia turns to look at Sam.
"It is a police scanner. We keep tabs on things, we..." Amelia says before she gets cut off by Sam.
"No, the um, the folder." Sam says as Amelia goes to where Sam was talking about and takes the folder from the wall.
"I was gonna do this but take a look if you want." Amelia says as she places the folder in front of Sam. It has some newspaper clippings attached to the front, and on the front, it says with a bright red marker:
COUPLE MURDERED
CHILD LEFT BEHIND
MEDFORD, WISCONSIN
Ana then gets up and puts her shot glass that was in her hand and put it on the counter and then walks out of the main bar and in the direction of the bathroom. She takes a deep breath, as she walks into the small hallway towards the bathroom. The small hallway has a single light bulb that is flickering but nothing creepy like. Then again out of eyesight there is some demon and spirit stuff keeping any supernatural creature away, for added protection.
Ana opened the bathroom door as it was pitch dark as she couldn't see in front of her and when she felt someone grab her arm. Her protective instincts and self-defense immediately alerted as she was now on alert of the possible danger. As typically when someone grabs a girl, especially like this, bad things will happen to the girl. One thing that Ana was thankful of Bobby teaching her was self-defense, so that she could protect herself. Another reason why she is the most stubborn person that Dean knows. Without thinking she pinned the person to the wall as both of her hands are on the person's shoulder keeping them from moving as there was a quiet thud as the person's back was on the wall.
"Damn sweetheart." The person says as he flipped the light switch next to him, revealing it to be Dean the one who grabbed her arm. Like every time he does something stupid which is most definitely this time, she thumped his head. Which was no surprise as like always when he either does something stupid or says something stupid she would thump him. This time is no exception to him being thumped by his girlfriend. He used his hand to rub the spot where she had thumped him. "That doesn't mean you can hit me, Annie." Dean says as Ana's green eyes never left his, his eyes then go back to Ana's. "Are you gonna blink? Or are you gonna hit me again?"
It took Dean everything in him to refrain from laughing at Ana's glare that is almost burning through his skin. This is also another reason that Dean likes seeing her mad, as he finds her mad being insanely attractive and the hottest thing ever. Even if sometimes he will do stupid shit just to get her to either thump him or hit him in some way. Most of the time when he wants to get thumped or something, he'll do it just to get her to smile. He will do anything to get her to smile even if he was going to get thumped or something. "I'm still debating that." Ana grumbles to Dean who only has his famous smirk on his face which only makes Ana roll her eyes at.
Dean doesn't say anything besides his smirk on his face. He moved his hands so that they are at her sides, which is only when Ana moves her hands from Dean's shoulders from her pressing him against the wall. He honestly didn't think that she had it in her to do it. Then again, he can't blame her because it was dark in the bathroom, and he grabbed her arm, so she retaliated and pinned him on the wall. "Let me guess, you are lucky you love me." Dean says to her as her self-defense facade tarnished, as the only sounds were the couple's soft breaths. Dean took notice of how Ana's eyes lowered, as he didn't say anything besides bringing her in for a hug. Instantly after Dean hugged her a quiet sob escaped her lips.
He sort of knows why she is now like this, as minutes ago she was pinning him against the wall and minutes later she is like this. He rubs her back soothingly up and down as he feels her own arms around him. "Hey, it's okay. I'm right here, baby." He says to her softly, as he pulls her away for a moment. His heart possibly breaks even more at seeing her like this. "Is everything becoming too much baby?" He asks her as the silence between him and her was enough for him to know his answer. He brought her back into his arms and continued his previous motions of him rubbing her back.
Besides Dean, no one else knows that Ana had a miscarriage, that was something that the couple had agreed on since she got out of the hospital little over a week ago. He knew that everything was getting and becoming too much for Ana to handle. He knows that she is the strongest person that he knows, but also the most stubborn person that he knows. There are certain people that she'd talk to especially when she is like this.
The couple stayed like this for a couple more minutes, as Dean was going to continue being by Ana's side until the end of time. He knows that when she isn't being stubborn and making him want to pull his hair out of his head, that she is the most loving and sweet (when she isn't pissed) to be around with. She cares about those that she loves.
Much like Dean, even if his loved ones are slowly fading. He doesn't know what he would do without Ana in his life, she makes his life and being a hunter not so... lonely. He knows that he brought her into the world of supernatural hunting, more so after they admitted their feelings for each other. He knows that everyone else is probably wondering what him and Ana are doing in the bathroom, but at the same time he doesn't care.
Ana comes first before anything, especially if he knows that something is wrong with her. He will stop everything just to be there for her, not necessarily when she is like this. But in general, if he could stop everything when something is wrong with Ana or when he knows that something is wrong. He can honestly say that his and Ana's relationship is the longest that he's had.
Because before Ana he'd have one-night stands, and or short-term relationships and most of the time it was nothing serious. The only relationship before Ana that was serious was his little relationship with Cassie Robinson that he had years ago. He is so glad and thankful that he has found peace being with Ana. She makes even his longest days and also his hard days not so hard. She brings a sense of peace to his life. Even if she is the most stubborn person ever.
After Ana had calmed down in Dean's arms and her quiet sobs became, Dean continued the motion on his arms moving up and down on her back. She clung onto him full of emotion like he would disappear in her arms, which only made him to hug her even more. He continued pressing soft kisses on her cheek. He knows why she is like this, and it makes his heart break even more.
"It's okay, baby." He murmurs to her in her ear, as if anyone else was in his place and they said that she would probably smack them. But hearing it from Dean made her heart swell in the best way. He turns a little so that Ana's back is lightly against the wall, she didn't say anything as their feet moved in sync on the ground. "It's okay." Dean whispers again as his arms had never left around her.
Her soft sobs eventually cease down as he kisses her cheek again as he continues him rubbing her arm. "You feelin', better baby?" He whispers in her ear, as she softly nods her head. He continues having her close to him, as he pulls away from the hug between them. He keeps her in his arms for a couple more moments, not wanting to let her go. At least not just yet. He tilts her head gently so that she can look at him. The sadness is still in her eyes, which breaks his heart but her tears that came out of those pretty little eyes of hers have dried up.
He gently takes the padding of his thumbs to wipe her remaining tears off of her face. The softness mixed with the roughness of his callouses on his thumbs is oddly comforting to Ana. Dean just looks at Ana with nothing but love and affection in his eyes. After he takes a moment of just looking at her, he moves his hands to cut the sides of her face. He leans down to softly kiss her lips, then after a couple moments he broke the kiss. "C'mon baby." He says to her as he gently takes her hand into his as now the two of them walk out of the bathroom.
When the couple gets back to the main part of the bar, Sam looks up at his brother and Ana. He almost had a smile on his face until he looks at Ana. His smile fades as soon as it appears, and he looks down at the file that is in his hands. He had found the three of them a new hunt. He then gets up and walks towards the couple. "Check this out." Sam says once he stands in front of Dean and Ana. "A few murders, not far from here. That Mia had caught wind of. Looks to me like there might be a hunt."
───※ ·❆· ※───
The three of them are in the minivan, that Dean is borrowing from Bobby. It is raining and Sam is doing research in his lap. Dean is driving and Ana is in the backseat. "You've got to be kidding me. A killer clown?" Dean asks in disbelief.
"Yeah, he left the daughter unharmed and killed their parents. Ripped them to pieces actually." Sam says as Ana had a disgusted look on her face at what Sam said.
"And this family was at some carnival that night?" Dean asks his brother.
"Right. The uh, Cooper Carnivals." Sam says to his brother as the name of the carnival sounds familiar to Ana, but she can't put her finger on it.
"So, how do we know we're not dealing with some psycho carnie in a clown suit?" Dean asks his brother.
"Well, the cops have no visible leads, and all the employees were tearing down shop. Alibis all around. Plus, this girl said she saw a clown vanish into thin air. Cops are saying trauma of course." Sam explains to his brother.
"Well, I know what you're thinking, Sam. Why did it have to be clowns?" Dean asks as Ana could hear the smirk that is on his face, which makes her shake her head with her own small smile on her face.
"Oh, give me a break?" Sam says to his brother.
"You didn't think I'd remember, did you? I mean, come on, you still bust out crying whenever you see Ronald McDonald on the television." Dean says.
"Well, at least I'm not afraid of flying." Sam says as he glances at Ana for a second before looking at Dean.
"Planes crash!" Ana exclaims piping into the fear debate that is going on between the brothers.
"And apparently clowns kill!" Sam says to Ana.
"So, these types of murders, they ever happen before?" Dean asks his brother.
"Uh, according to the fie. 1981, the Bunker Brothers Circus, same M.O. It happened three times, three different locals." Sam reads.
"It's weird though, I mean, if it is a spirit, it's usually bound to a specific locale, you know, a house, or a town." Sam says.
"So, how's this one moving from city to city, carnival to carnival?" Dean asks.
Ana shrugs her shoulders at Dean, even she doesn't know, it's never been something she has heard of. "Cursed object maybe. Spirit attaches itself to something and the uh, carnival carries it around with them." Ana says as Dean looks at her with a slight annoyed look, but it wasn't directed at her.
"Great. Paranormal scavenger hunt." Sam says.
"Well, this case was your idea. By the way, why is that? You were awfully quick to jump on this job." Dean points out.
"So?" Sam asks.
"It's just... not like you, that's all. I thought you were hell-bent for leather on the demon hunt." Dean says.
"I don't know. I just think this job; it's what Dad would have wanted us to do." Sam says to his brother.
"What, 'Dad would have wanted'?" Dean says.
"Yeah, so?" Sam asks.
"Nothin'." Dean replies, as he turns his head from Sam and turns his attention to the road in front of him.
