↣ "I love you."

Both Kou and you have been friends ever since both of you were little, both of you would discover new supernaturals together, occasionally train together, etc.

You had developed feelings for him ever since then, something about Kou just drew you towards him. Perhaps it was his bright smile? Or maybe it was how he was able to make you feel giddy and happy?

How you've come to love him was honestly a mystery to you as well, all you knew was that you love him, and that's all that matters.

It disturbs you how he's been crushing on Yashiro lately, something about how he acts around her, something about how he blushes when she talks to him, it just stirs up an uneasy feeling in you.

Were you jealous? Of course you were! The boy you've loved for God knows how long, was falling for another person!

As this uneasiness continued to amplify, you continued to brush it off. It hurt to see how Kou would act around Yashiro like that but it also gave you a sense of relief and happiness, to see him be that happy, it makes you happy as well somehow.

It was one rainy afternoon when you'd decided to go home alone since Kou wanted to walk home with Yashiro.

You didn't really mind it though, it was fine, it was the usual, you should be fine with this at this point, you shouldn't feel hurt anymore, it's been months, you should've gotten over this by now, right..?

Your thoughts were interrupted when something large crashed onto you from the your side, which sent you flying and crashing back down onto the wet road with a splash.

You saw red liquid puddling around you and people surrounding you as your vision became fuzzier and fuzzier as time passed. Soon enough, you blacked out.

"I'm sorry but Miss (L/N) has been put into a deep coma," the doctor took a deep sigh before continuing. "There's a shallow possibility of her waking up, her head was hit pretty badly and now we're trying our best to hopefully reconnect some of her nerves again."

With that, the doctors left the room, leaving Kou and Yashiro alone with (Y/N)'s resting body.

Kou clenched his fists together upon hearing what the doctors had just told them.

He takes a seat on the metal chair next to the hospital bed, his hands naturally found their way to your's. His grip on your hands were rough but gentle at the same time, projecting the guilt and pain he's feeling.

"It's all my fault.." Kou mummured. "It's all my fucking fault! If I hadn't had rejected walking home with her then all this wouldn't have happened.. All because of me.. all because of my dumb fucking decisions Goddamit!"

Kou can't take this, he can't.. You've always been there for him ever since the two of you were little, he's still trying to pay back his debt but now to just have you slowly disappearing right before his eyes? He can't accept this.. he can't accept this..

The one time he could've been there for you but he wasn't, he felt like such a failure, all becau-

His thoughts were interrupted with Yashiro gently placing a hand on his back.

"K-Kou-kun, don't lose hope yet, (L/N)-san still has hope!" She said, in hopes to comfort him. She herself also wasn't doing so well, she loved you like a sister but she musn't lose hope because that's not what you would've done for any of them.

"(L/N)-san wouldn't want to see you like this, besides! She's still alive don't act as if she's dead!" Yashiro chokes out between sobs.

Kou merely nodded. "Hey Senpai, you can head home first, I'm going to go home later."

With a fist clenched against her chest, Yashiro nodded before exiting the room, leaving Kou and you alone.

"Hey (Y/N), remember that time when we were little, you said that we should get married and live together forever?" Kou sucked in a deep breath before continuing. "We will make that happen, no matter what, I won't give up on you so don't you dare give up on me!"

With tears streaming down his face he gently lifts up your hand and giving a peck on your knucles. "Please wake up soon, God please.."

Four weeks has passed since you had fallen into coma. Kou would continue to visit you every day, he'd bring you flowers from time to time, talk to you about school, supernaturals, exorcisms and whatnot.

Sometimes he'd even stay so long Teru-nii would have to convince him to go back home.

Despite your state, he still has high hopes for you! Recently the doctors had just informed him that your condition had gotten better and that you should be waking up anytime soon, making the boy happier.

So here he was, next to your hospital bed. His hands enveloping yours, gently rubbing circles on your knucles in a soothing manner.

"So Hanako tried cooking for Yashiro today but he failed and I had to step in and help him," Kou laughed at the memory before continuing. "He almost burnt down the entire stove! Teru-nii almost killed him- you really should've been there, it was hilarious!"

Kou was hoping to get a reply from you but as usual, you were asleep and silent. He sighs before standing up. "Welp I gotta go now, I'll come visit you again tomorrow (Y/N)!"

Before he could pull his hand away from yours, he felt your hand grabbing onto his, causing him to snap his head at you. "(Y/N)?! Are you awake??"

He couldn't be happier right now, there you are, smiling at him with your eyes open. Finally, after a month, you're awake..

Kou instinctively wrapped his arms around you, embracing you as gently as possible.

"K-Kou?"

"God I love you so much, please don't do that to me again!" Kou yelled, his grip on you getting harder. "Please don't ever leave me again, (Y/N).."

Your eyes widened at what he had just said, your mind was overwhelmed with confusion but you had decided to not question and just melt into Kou's embrace.

“I love you too, Kou.”
