आज़ाद पंछियों को उड़ते हुए देखती हूँ जब आसमान में ,

तो मेरा भी जी चाहता है उड़ चलूं उस नीले आसमान में ।

तोड़ के बंधन सारे जहान के ,

बस भरती जाऊं ऊँची उड़ान मैं ।

उड़ तो जाऊँ पर लौटना तो होगा ,

क्या ढले शाम मेरा घरौंदा होगा ।

बस यही ख्याल मुझे रोक लेता है ,

खुले पंखों को भी जकड़ देता है ।

पर जकड़ी रहूँ इन बन्धिशों में ऐसी मैं कहाँ ,

दे दिए पंख ख्यालों को ।

खोजा मैंने नया जहान ,

जहाँ मिली आज़ादी मुझे और नयी पहचान ।
