Chapter Eleven-Everybody Loves Spider-Man

Peter POV

I followed Shawn to the playroom that Mr. Stark prepared for them. The triplets were all in there, one of them was holding a baby Hazel. Shawn was crying and they were trying to comfort him.

"Hey, kiddo!" I sweetly said. Their heads jolted towards me.

"Hi!" Morris shouted with a smile. I kindly smiled back at him.

"Hey, Shawn, you okay?" I questioned.

"Yeah..." he weakly muttered as he wiped the tears from his eyes and sniffled. I kneeled down and gestured for him to come over to me. He slowly walked over to me and looked me in the eyes.

"What's wrong kiddo?"

"El... s-she ye-yelled at me-me." He cried. This family was really close-knit. I guess they had to be.

¹"How about if you cheer up, I'll tell you a secret?"

"Okay!" He exclaimed as he wiped his tears. He did everything he could to stop crying.

"Okay..." I said to myself as I sat down on the ground. Shawn sat down next to me and looked at me curiously. I couldn't help but laugh a little.

I touched something on my wrist and then shot a web across the room.

"Spider-man?!" James exclaimed.

"Woah!!" They all cheered in unison.

"Ooahee!" Hazel yelled from across the room. I chuckled.

"You're so cool!" Morris screeched. I winced at his high pitched voice.

"Well, uh, thanks."

The kids surrounded me and started jumping up and down.

"Tell us a story Spider-man!"

"Um, okay."

I sat down in front of them and crossed my legs. They all stared at me eagerly. I thought for a moment before launching into a story.

"And then I caught the school bus!"

"Woah!"

"No way!"

"So cool!"

"Uwawaew!" that one was the baby.

I continued the story enthusiastically.

"Wah! I'm Spider-man! Take that!"

"I thought I was Spider-Man?" I said from the couch I was sitting on watching them play.

"Uh-uh-I-"

"I was just messing with you, kiddo."

"Oh."

"Rawr!! I'm Goblin!! I'll get you Spider-man!"

I chuckled quietly to myself. Suddenly 'babyzilla' came crashing through and started climbing on James, "Ah!!! No!! It's Babyzilla!!"

Babyzilla pushed 'Spider-man' to the ground and started licking his face. I couldn't help but laugh. I loved little kids. Even in the darkest situations, they seem to have fun.

I watched them play for a couple more minutes.

"Peter!" Morris yells.

"Yeah? What do you need, kiddo?"

"Can we shoot your webs?" He asked innocently. I gave him a smile.

"You guys don't even know how to shoot them." I plainly stated. I immediately regretted it when their bright smiles turned into disappointed frowns.

"Bu-but you can learn!" I exclaimed with a huge smile, trying to make everything better. Their eyes lit up and I knew that I made a mistake. Now I had to teach them how to use my web shooters.

"Ok...um..." I stuttered.

"Let's go outside to practice." They all nodded their heads in agreement and decided to lead the way.

We walked out to the big courtyard. I pulled the web shooter off my wrist and then showed them how everything works.

"So you put it on like this. I just kind of sticks to you, I guess. And then this part goes over the palm of your hand. Then you fold your hands like this, and press this button with your middle finger and your ring finger and then viola!" I explained. They stared at me in awe.

"Here," I said as I handed it to James, "You try!"

I gave it to James first because I could tell he was the odd one out all the time. A smile stretched across his face and he eagerly reached out to take it from me.

I allowed him to take it and he put it on just like I showed him. Then he pointed his arm towards a tree and shot a web towards it.

"WOAH!" James screamed as he giggled. I laughed and gave him a high five. James shot the tree a few more times, each time he giggled loudly.

I heard a window of the tower being slid opened and I looked over. El was leaning out her window as she rubbed her eyes.

"What's going on?" She asked, clearly annoyed. She must have been asleep and then heard all the racket.

"Sorry to wake you..." I apologized, completely avoiding the question.

"It's fine. But can you at least tell me what's going on?" She asked as she threw her legs over the edge of the window. I casually walked over to her that way we could talk easier. James passed the web shooter to Morris.

"Shawn was really upset, so I told them I was Spider-man. And then they asked to use my web shooters, and I said no. And then they got really sad and I just..... I couldn't take it so I said yes and now I am teaching them how." I rambled.

El smiled and slid out of her window. She could do that since it was ground level.

"Thank you," She said in almost a whisper. She came over and stood next to me. I never realized how short she was. The top of her head met my shoulders.

Shawn let out a surprised scream as the webs quickly flew out of the web shooter. We both laughed.

"I haven't seen them having this much fun in forever," She stated, pain in her voice.

"I will make sure that all of you have fun. Even baby Hazel." I assured.

"Where is Hazel?" She asked as she looked up at me curiously.

"She's asleep."

"Thank god."

Shawn passed the web shooter to Morris who began to put it on. The trunk of the tree was now covered in fake spider webs. Mr.Stark won't be too happy about that.

El and I just stood and watched the boys play. We stood there for what felt like hours. El shuddered and pulled her sleeves over her arms to keep warm.

"Ready to go inside?" I asked. She nodded her head in response.

"Boys!" I shouted. They all looked over to me.

"It's time to go inside," El explained. They all frowned and slowly walked over to us. El's teeth chattered and I felt bad.

"You can go inside, I got it," I stated.

"No, I'm fine." She claimed.

"Whatever you say," I smirked. She playfully rubbed her eyes.

"Hurry up!" I demanded. The boys picked up the pace a little, but Morris had an evil grin on his face. Before I knew it, I was covered with webs.

El laughed and then quickly stopped once she saw I was evilly staring at her. I shot her torso with webs and she jumped out of surprise. Her jaw dropped and then she wickedly smiled.

"Morris! Give me that!" She quickly shouted. He handed it to her and her smile quickly faded as she fumbled to get it on. I shot her with it again and she fell over.

"NO!" She shrieked as she fell over. She glared at me and then shot my face with the I couldn't see anything but could hear her laughing. As long as she's happy, I'm fine.

I struggled to pull off the web and then someone tackled me to the ground. I screamed and she and the boys all laughed.

"You should work on your fighting skills, Spider-man!" She joked as she helped me pull all the webs off my face. I saw how large her smile was and couldn't help but smile.

A/N So, there will be a time skip after this, just letting you guys know so you don't get confused.
