Third Person's POV

Tossing, turning. Were Sydney's enemies when all she wanted was a decent amount of sleep, but lately she hasn't been so lucky of getting what she wants. She remembers exactly how her nightmare happened, every little detail. She knows that when her Dad gets back from a case that he had that he isn't gonna be happy to hear that she hasn't slept all night and hasn't eaten in two days. Luckily Sydney has a father who talks her through all of her shit and wants to fully understand the situation before he starts to assume everything.

It's been a couple days since the prank war between Spencer, Sydney and Morgan and a case in between the days as Sydney has been at school. Thank God she's only had one bad night since then. She's working on more techniques of calming herself down after one, especially when her Dad's not there.

She's making herself a sandwich at two in the morning as she isn't sorry about it. Then again she hasn't eaten for days. She hasn't been hungry today as she knows why as when she has these kind of nights, she doesn't eat and sleep. She'll starve herself until she sleeps. That's just how she's always done it.

She sighs as she goes to the TV and turns it on getting it a second to load, then she clicks on the first thing that she sees, not really caring what it is. She knows that her sandwich is the only thing that she hasn't eaten all day. She looked down at her messy made peanut butter sandwich and sheds a tear as she pushes it aside not being hungry anymore. She sighs again as she closes her eyes as she purses her lips as she didn't hear the front door open not even bothering to look to see who it was.

Moments later she heard the squeaky floor board which is right behind the couch. Which meant that someone was here. It wasn't Derek's expensive cologne, and it wasn't definitely not JJ and or Emily because they would complain of the dim lighting. "What do you want?" She asks the person as she's 100% percent sure that it's her father but at this point she doesn't care who it is.

But she knew one thing. It was her Dad.

"Why aren't you in bed?"

"What do you think? I'll give you five seconds to figure it out." Sydney says snippy as Spencer puts his stuff down on the kitchen counter before making his way back towards his daughter.

"That bad, huh?"

"Hey, you're using your brain, I'm so proud of you." Sydney said as she offered her sandwich to her father but he could see right through her. He shook his head denying her offering her messy peanut butter sandwich.

"I need you to be honest with me?" Spencer asks her as Syd avoided eye contact as she knew the question he was going to ask immediately. She has tears welling up in her eyes as she was trying so hard to break down as she tighten her jaw to stop herself from crying. "When was the last time you eaten?" Spencer asks taking note of his daughter's facial expressions. He already knew what the answer was going to be.

He knew that she was going to have a breakdown, as he knew that look in her eyes. Sydney is feeling a lot of emotions right now, as they're all happening at once and it's freaking her out. "I don't wanna talk about it."

"Syd." Reid says to his daughter as he wasn't gonna leave until she tells him. He knew that he had to be calm otherwise his emotions is going to transfer to Sydney. That's the way that it goes. If he's mad, she's mad. If he's calm she's most likely calm. If he's sad, she's having a breakdown. Etc.

He knows everything about her, as they have the same brain at least they joke about that they do. Because of how alike they are.

"What?" Sydney says creating a wall between the two as she doesn't want to talk about it. She knows that he understands but she just doesn't want to talk about it. He gently grabbed her hands that had little drawings on them. He held her hands in his.

"Syd, when was the last time you've eaten?" He asks her as for a split second her entire personality changed.

"Why do you want to know?! Y-you w-wont u-understand." Sydney exclaims which shocked Spencer. She was already standing up when he finally looked at her. Her back was towards him as she was clutching herself with tears rolling down her cheeks a quiet sob breaks from Sydney. Spencer got up and went towards his daughter. "Go away."

"Please don't do this, Syd." He says to her as softly as he could as he knows where this would lead to. He doesn't want to go through that tonight. It's late, he wants to sleep, but first he wants to talk to Syd about this.

"Do what tell you the truth." Sydney argues back knowing that she's not meaning it, as her eyes are all red and puffy. She cried in the bathroom hours ago, for this exact reason.

"Syd." He says to her again.

"What do you possibly want? Huh? What is it?!" Sydney exclaims to him.

"Please let's not do this, tonight." He tells her as she shakes her head at him.

"Fine." She says before she walks off upstairs leaving her father right where he was. When she got to her room she slammed the door and slid down the door landing on her floor, and crying the wall that she was building. She just let the wall just break as she was hugging her knees tightly breaking Spencer's heart from the living room.

She moves her shorts up and sees her scars of where she would cut herself as her Dad doesn't know that part. He doesn't know that she's had countless suicidal attempts since she was twelve. Yeah twelve and she's seventeen. She couldn't help but cry more at the sights of her scars, she hears her door being knocked on. She moved her shorts to where they were. After that she sniffed her nose, as she opened the door just a little.

Her Dad helps her back to her feet as she purses her lips as she sits on her bed as he sits on her desk chair. He wheels the chair towards her "Look--"

"I should be the one who apologizing. I'm sorry." She apologizes to him with a sad look on her face.

He gives her a small smile. "It's fine." He says to her as she bad a tiny smile on her face. Then she fell back on her bed looking at the fairy lights on her ceiling. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asks her as she bit her cheek. Truth was that she wanted to but on the other hand, she didn't.

"N-n-no." Sydney says as Spencer didn't want to push her if she didn't want to.

"You sure?" He asks her as he doesn't seem convinced with her answer. It's late, he needs sleep but his daughter is more important than sleep.

"Y-yeah." Sydney stutters over her words, as her dad isn't gonna push it if she doesn't want to.

He got up and kissed her forehead which made her smile but then have a tiny frown when his lips left her head. He walked to her door before opening it and then turning back towards her as he waited until she turned on her lava lamp that Penelope had gotten her a while ago. "I'll probably be awake if you need me, okay." He says to her as he saw her head nodding he smiled as he closed the door. Sighing as he went to his room which was right across from hers.

Sydney sighs when she couldn't fall asleep. She knows that she basically lied to her Dad, but she just didn't want to talk about it. Well--she did but the words didn't come out. She chickens out when it comes to stuff like this.

Sydney's POV

Ugh, I really hate when I don't sleep, it drives me insane. I'm itching to tell Dad, but he's probably asleep. Hence the key word: probably. But I don't know. He sleeps like I do, he's a light sleeper. Mainly because growing up and sadly at the current time of my life, my dearest mother would abuse and choke me and all that shit at night. When Dad went to bed, so he's gotten used to of being a light sleeper. I grab my phone and text the only person I know who is awake at this time.

After texting Derek for a good thirty minutes, I eventually fell asleep as I was too tired to see what time it was. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit that pillow and it felt like the best sleep I had. Which it was. It's been so long since I've slept this fucking well, that it feels fucking weird to have slept for this good....and long...whoops.

The next thing I knew was that I was being shake up. I didn't want to get up and then the person had to audacity of picking me up over his shoulder. "I've been screaming your name for an hour. Your Dad said it was time for you to get up."

The person said as that's when I knew it was Derek. I whacked him upside the head. "I was enjoying sleeping."

"At one in the afternoon, okay." He said as he put me down after he walked downstairs. After he put me down, I glared at him before looking around and seeing no sign of Dad. I scrunched my eye brows together in confusion.

"Where's Dad?"

"He's on a case." He says as I slowly nod my head at him, also questioning why he is here. "I was assigned to be your babysitter." When he said the last part I felt my mouth gape open as I went all bug eyed at Derek.

I was gonna kill Dad when he gets back. "B-babysitter? What am I five?"

"That's not the reason why kiddo."

"Then what is?"

"I think you know why, kiddo. Think." Derek says as I was confused as fuck. Then it clicked after a good two minutes of thinking. Then again I did just wake up.

"Oh." I say, as when I looked up at him he had this shitty grin on his face. "What?"

"I know what we can do today?" He says in a sing-song voice as I raised an eyebrow.

"Please enlighten me." I tell him.

"Renovate houses."

Hannah speaks
Hey, y'all, how are you?
I'm good thanks for asking!
This chapter was more of a personal level for me, that's why I've been procrastinating of doing this book. Also because I'm doing an applyfic, so I've been giving my free time doing that the most.
But here is another chapter.
