ʚThird Pov ɞ

Ayaka, Yuno, Ace, Deuce, and Grim made it back to the mirror chamber, where they ended up meeting with Crowley, and showing him the crystal that they managed to get.

Crowley was very surprised by this. "Eh?! You really went to Dwarfs Mine to find a magic crystal?" He said surprised.

"Huh?" The students were confused.

"I really didn't think... You'd not only go but then come back with a crystal in hand. I quietly completed the paperwork for your expulsion." Crowley admitted.

"Wow, seems like Headmaster didn't have faith in us at all..." Ayaka pouted. "Nnga! The nerve of this guy! While we were off fighting some crazy beast!" Grim said.

"Beast?" Crowley questioned. "There was a monster in there! It was super gross and crazy strong, it was awful!" Ace said.

"Could you explain it in more details?" Crowley requested. Everyone headed back to NRC and met in the Headmasters office so that Ayaka can explain the whole thing about the monster to the plan they came up with to defeating it. And Crowley was pleasantly surprised and pleased with it.

"Hoh hooh. A mysterious monster living in the coal mine. The five of you worked together to defeat it and bring back a magic crystal?" Crowley said.

"We didn't really work together..." Ace sheepishly denied. "It was more like our goals were aligned..." Deuce commented.

Ayaka looked at the two with a big smile as she faced Crowley. "Even if they say that, they were a really great help."

The whole room was silent before Crowley bursted into tears. "Ooh... Ooooooooh.... OOOOOOHHHHH!!!! OOOOOHHHHH! SOB SOB SOB!"

The students were really baffled by this, seeing their Headmaster just burst into tears in a dramatic way. "What's with this guy? Why is an adult bursting into tears?!" Grim questioned. "This guy is by far the weirdest headmaster I've ever seen...." Yuno muttered.

"In all these years that I've been headmaster... For the day to come that students from Night Raven College go hand in hand to face and defeat their enemy!" Crowley dramatically cried.

"What!? I did not hold this guys hand!" Deuce said. I would never do that, gross! But Headmaster, how old are you?!" Ace added. Yuno sighed at their stupidity, "That's not what he means when he said hand in hand you idiots..."

"I am overwhelmed with emotion. This incident confirms it. Ms. Ayaka, without a doubt, you have a talent as a beast tamer!" Crowley said, shocking and confusing everyone. "A what talent now?!" She yelped.

"Students of Night Raven College are budding wizards called here by the Dark Mirror. However, they are of a superior class that makes them prideful and egotistical people that have not even the slightest inkling to work with others. Making many of them selfish and self centered." Crowley explained.

"You're really not saying anything good." Grim crossed his arms at him. "You hold an extremely rare type of magic, but maybe precisely, you can use your knowledge to give instructions to wizards and get them to cooperate. Perhaps that mediocrity is exactly what this school needs right now!" Crowley said.

"He's not saying anything nice is he?!" Ace exclaimed.

"I have no doubt that your existence as the first girl to be accepted is essential to the future of this academy. So says my educator-senses. Trappola. Spade. Yuno. Along with rescinding your expulsion, I shall give Ms. Ayaka the qualifications to attend Night Raven College, as an official student." Crowley announced.

"Eeh?!" Everyone screamed.

Ayaka was very surprised by this. "An official student? I thought I was only going to stick as a nursing student..." Ayaka said. "I told you that you were accepted to this school, but, you weren't an official student because of your lack of self-confidence. But from this incident that happened, it has proven that you were able to slightly overcome it. You can continue your nursing as a student after school when the nurse needs you. That is also why, Grim, you have proven to me that you possess enough talent to become a wizard. Therefore, I shall allow you to enroll with Ms. Ayaka, as essentially one student." Crowley explained.

Ayaka's eyes sparked at this. "Really?!"

"Ffgna?! I... I can go to this academy too...? Not as a handyman, but as a student?" Grim asked, sounding emotional. "Yes. Provided that! However, you don't ever let an incident like yesterday occur again! Do we have an agreement?" Crowley asked.

Ffgnaa... Ffgnaa... We- We can..." Grim started to whimper. Ayaka brought Grim in a close hug. "You can attend this academy too, Grim! Let's do our best!" She cheered. "Ffgnnaaaaa!! I did it!" Grim cheered as well.

"Well then, I shall give you the symbol of your status as a student of Night Raven College, a magic crystal, to Grim, Ms. Ayaka, and Mr. Yuno." Crowley used his magic to make a purple magic crystal appear on Ayaka, Yuno, and Grim.

"It is normal for students to have their magic crystals in the form of a magical pen but, you wouldn't be able to grip with in your paws, right? It's a special custom. Aaah... I pay attention to even the smallest details! Aren't I too gracious?" Crowley smiled. As Yuno was really getting ticked off by Crowley's Graciousness.

"I did it!! I'm so cool! I got my own special magic crystal collar~" Grim cheered.

"He's not listening at all..." Crowley sighed. "Do you understand? As you can see, Grim is not accustomed to human society. Its up to you both to take the rein and supervise him to prevent him from causing anymore trouble. But, I'm specifically entrusting this role to Ms. Ayaka, since Grim is more comfortable with her." Crowley explained.

Ace chuckled at this. "Aha! Look at you, Ayaka. Schools just started but you're already a supervisor?"

"I see. Since there's only three of you in your dorm...So if you've mainly been entrusted with supervising Grim, that makes you a supervisor." Deuce said.

"Pfft... Isn't that unheard of? For there to be a supervisor student who is able to tame such a beast like Grim, and has a cool type of magic. Nice. It's cool." Ace smiled.

Ayaka brought her hands together and clenched it in determination. "I-Ill do my best to help the school!" She declared.

"Ahaha. Good luck, supervisor Ayaka." Ace said, patting her head.

"I see, a supervisor. I do have a work request, and having a title makes it convenient... This is wonderful! Ms. Ayaka, I entrust you with this. This is nicknamed the 'Ghost Camera'." Crowley brought out a old looking camera.

"Ghost camera...?" Ayaka tilted her head in confusion.

"Ah, I think my grandma told me about that. It's a super old magic tool, right?" Ace said.

"It is not 'super old'... Ahem. It's true this may have been invented during your great grandmother's, or great great grandmother's time. There is a very special spell cast on it. It not only captures the subjects form, but also a part of their soul." Crowley explained.

"A part of their soul? What do you mean by that?" Yuno asked.

"We call this 'Memory: A Fragment of Remembrance'. Furthermore, the most interesting part of this magic camera is that the souls of the photographer and the photographed become deeply connected and the memory in the photo comes jumping out!" Crowley explained.

"Souls that are connected...?" Ayaka murmured in confusion. "Depending on how close the subject and photographer are, the picture could move like a video or bring to life the situation in the photo. Fascinating right?" Crowley said.

"More like confusing." Yuno commented. "Bring the photo to life? It's like a ghost photograph!" Deuce said.

"Yes. Therefore, it is called a 'ghost camera'. They say it was made before the time of videos for when people wanted to leave behind vivid memories... Spade was correct, in the past, people would scream 'ghost!' in surprise when the memory came jumping out. They were paralyzed with fear at the thought of having a photo taken with this camera." Crowley explained.

"A camera for freaking people out..." Ace sighed. "Ms. Ayaka, please take photos of Grim and the other students to leave behind many memories of your lives in this academy." Crowley requested.

"La-lalala~ Take lots of photos of me~" Grim sang. "Especially, always make sure to get 'memories' when someone steps out of line. It's a more suitable way to report to me, right? Keep an eye on your surroundings and take memories as the supervisor. To generously give you a rare item that can be used by female wizards yourself...Does my graciousness know no bounds?" Crowley added.

Ayaka inspected the camera, as she kept what Crowley said in mind. She will need to use this wisely if she has to make reports. "I'll try it out. Thank you very much." Ayaka bowed.

Crowley smiled. "It is already late. Let's save the detailed conversation for tomorrow. Return to your dormitories, everyone." Crowley ordered.

As soon as everyone was about to leave, Ayaka said one last thing. "Headmaster, is it okay if I can change my dorm name?" She asked, surprising everyone a bit.

"Change your dorm name? Hmm, well, seeing you be able to remodel it, I don't see why not. What would you like your new dorm name to be?" Crowley asked.

Ayaka hesitated for a bit before speaking. "Meraki... I want to name our Ramshackle dorm to the Meraki Dorm." Ayaka concluded.

Yuno was a bit surprised by the creative name his sister chose for their dorm. It definitely suits her more than it did for him. He mentally smiled at the thought.

"Ooh! What a beautiful name for your dorm! Alright, from now on, your dorm will be known for the Meraki Dorm." Crowley concluded.

Ayaka smiled and bowed in application, "Thank you." She then left with grabbing her brothers hand and leaving the office.

Ayaka, Yuno, Ace, Deuce, and Grim walked out of the office and started to head to their dorms together. They were all surprised that they managed to rescind their expulsion, just by working together. To which, maybe wasn't so bad at all.

"Haaaaaah... Expulsion rescinded... I'm beat." Deuce sighed out of tiredness. "Yare, Yare..." Ace sighed as well.

"La lala~ I start as a student of Night Raven College tomorrow! I'm gonna leave you all in the dust and take the top spot!" Grim said in happiness.

"You talk big for someone who is only part of a full student. Anyway, it's fine." Ace smirked.

"We're classmates tomorrow, Ayaka, Grim." Deuce said.

Ayaka nodded her head and smiled at them. "Hey Ace, Deuce. Now that we're gonna become classmates tomorrow, I honestly feel much more closer to you guys from this day. W-Would be okay if we can officially become friends?" Ayaka asked.

Ace and Deuce blushed at her, considering of them being friends with the first girl in NRC ever. But, it didn't sound all that bad. She was a really great person overall.

"S-Sure. I don't mind..." Ace mumbled in embarrassment. "We'd love to become friends with you, Ayaka." Deuce smiled.

Ayaka smiled more in delight. "Yay! My first friends I ever made!" She cheered.

Ace and Deuce were a bit baffled by this. They thought someone like Ayaka would have a lot of friends. "Wait, we're your first friends?" Ace asked.

Ayaka nodded her head. "It's new to me to experience things like friendship, since I'd have a hard time making friends because of my lack of self-confidence. But I'm really glad to have met you guys, even though we started off on a bumpy start." Ayaka said sincerely.

Ace and Deuce blushed more after hearing her say that. They looked away to hide their blush. "S-Saying things like that is really embarrassing, you know." Ace said.

"Pfft, that's true. Even if we don't want to, we're going to see each other everyday. I'm even in Heartslabyul with this jerk." Deuce frowned at the last part.

"Thinking about seeing your serious mug everyday, no thanks." Ace smirked. "That's my line, truant Ace." Deuce insulted. "Hai, Hai. Almost-expelled-crybaby Deuce. Alrighty, see you tomorrow, Ayaka-Chan, Yuno." Ace retorted.

Yuno shook his head from hearing this. "It's unfortunate that I'm not in the same classes with you, Ayaka. But I know you'll be able to handle yourself. I want you both to stay close to her in case some people try to prey on her." Yuno stated, emphasizing on the prey part.

Ace and Deuce flinched at his words, knowing what he means. Even without making much of an expression, they can tell he's threatening them to keep a close eye on his sister. They rapidly nodded their heads in understanding.

The two Heartslabyul boys walked back to their dorm together, as Ayaka was thinking about those two. "You know, those two make a good combo. Well, more like a funny one too." She said.

Yuno turned to her, "I know what you mean."

"They're the 'fight because they're so close' type. We better get back to the dorm! Tomorrow we aren't the handyman! Finally... Finally! Our bright and shiny academy life at Night Raven College begins!" Grim cheered.

Ayaka and Yuno couldn't help but chuckle at Grim's words, knowing the feeling of actually becoming students with a bright future. The two smiled and held each other's hands with Grim riding on Ayaka's shoulder, making their way back to their new dorm.

Without knowing that this is just the beginning...

❧ Ayaka and Yuno each have their own crystal necklace to help them bind their magic, so that people can't detect it. Since their magic is so strong, people can feel it's presence. Without it, people would've feared the twins for life.
