"Getting back to the crime spot and sneaking the pieces of evidence isn't smart, buddy. Even if the officials aren't around after a place is marked under investigation, it means, it is UNDER investigation."
"Miss. Choe, how can you be so sure it was him that night?" The lawyer of the opposite party was determined to protect his client and his objection was more of a mockery with that hint of a smirk at the corner of his lips.
"I have my ways, Mr. Hyun and this sums it all up," Her perfectly upright body stepped forward towards the respected judge, seated at the table behind, and handed over the clicked photographs taken via her phone. She knew there was nothing left that could justify her wrong. The tables had turned yet again in the favor of Miss. Choe Soomin and Mr. Hyun's smirk was long buried. She turned towards the now guilty officer. The one man, who could've been the most trusted person in the case of the Late Sung Chaewon, had now proved the existence of both sides of a coin.
"Mr. Sak, the security officer of Sung Chaewon, you made a mistake shaking hands with her bodyguard..." Her eyes could shoot literal daggers, and the bold and fearless, Soomin Choe, triumphed justifying the murder of the famous actress, Chaewon Sung. "...you may rot in hell for this," The calmness in her voice showcased just how powerful the tsunami was; concealed within her.
"Miss. Choe, I understand your sentiment drift but kindly maintain the dignity of this court."
"Pardon me, your honor."
Sak, the security officer of Chaewon, deserved every bit of her degrading. She accepted her blunder nonetheless her valorous persona had surfaced like the dusk.

Clicks and flashes of lights were showered as soon as her heel made contact with the first step of the stairs, leading towards the wild mob. Very popular among the people seeking out for just, Soomin Choe, was an exceptionally incredible lawyer in Seoul maybe the whole of South Korea. Growing up as a kid her doe-like eyes had witnessed the partial and inhumane, maltreat beasts feeding upon the innocence of people. The rage got her into fights, be it high school or her college, but she never let herself get consumed by such nifty plays, conspiring to ruin people.
Times put her in circumstances when she was helpless and could not be of any use to the ones suffering. She despised it the most, this feeling of helplessness, especially when it all started within the ambit of her own house. Her father, a drunkard, returned home every night in terrible conditions. Her mother always cared for him but he, being the cold-hearted reckless man, only tortured her. Soomin was only six when she saw her mother's lip bleeding from its corner but she still smiled and told her to go to bed.
She obeyed, deep in her thoughts, as she strolled around the hallway hearing her mother's plead. She knew it was wrong, she knew it was horrible of her father to do that and it was the very origin of the current outrageous Soomin Choe.
"Miss. Choe, few people say that you provided false statements in the murder of Miss. Chaewon Sung because she was a friend of yours. Is it true? What are your thoughts on that?"
She didn't halt her movements for once in the mere lies and accusations on her. The guy with a hand mic in his grip was determined to get his answer and so did the other reporters but answering them and proving herself right wasn't the motive also it wouldn't change anything in the judgments that were taken that day. The crowd was overpowering her and hoped for her assistant to show up fast.
"Miss. Choe, how do you feel after succeeding..."
Before the other one could grasp and bound her with another set of questions a hand travelled around her side, almost pulling her towards his robust chest.
"She's got an important meeting to attend. Please step aside," His voice was dominating and they did pave the way for both of them so they could get inside the waiting sedan.
Soomin's brows knitted as she looked up at the person beside her, "What are you doing, here?" She whisper-yelled at him, "Do you know the troubles you could be in by being here?" He opened the car door, ignoring and got her inside the car. The man in complete black attire took a seat beside her.
"Mr. Jeon Jungkook, what are you doing here?" Before Jungkook could even face the reporter, the car accelerated and soon they were out of the suffocating environment.
For a minute, Soomin just stared at Jungkook, she was mad at him and he knew this very well. "What was the point of this?" The silence drove her impatient and she decided to cut it out.
"We have a very important event to attend this eve and..."
"That doesn't explain why you got yourself into this drama. You know people could accuse you of being involved in this murder just because of this."
"At least listen to me..."
"There's nothing to listen to, Kook. You know my profession is a harm to your life."
He gave up on his explanation and handed her a paper that he stored inside his jacket's pocket. She unfolded the white paper that held both the signatures of Soomin's manager and his. He had taken a day off just to escort her out that day and get her presented in the event the following evening.
"Now what's this event about?" She asked folding it again.

A hectic day and a tiring night: Soomin was aware how her involvement with celebrities and law would prove to be chaotic one day. She was invited to Ryu Seok's grand celebration of the success of his last movie which's female lead was Sung Chaewon. It was a great achievement for both of them but alas, only if Chaewon was there to celebrate with them. She would be remembered in the hearts of her fans.
Soomin had several cases before, be it a divorce or alleged charges on the accuser and it mostly dealt with the ones who were well known in their profession and the perfectionist in their career. Well, a perfectionist for a perfectionist? The ways she had defended one of Jungkook's friends, an idol, who was charged with sexual assault though it was counterfeited and he was innocent. This once she saved a solo artist and producer, Samara, who had been a survivor of domestic violence and the list goes on and on.
"I really don't wanna go, Jungkook," She held in a breath for long before releasing it. Chaewon's murder had been really disturbing to her. She was her friend, a close one indeed, and celebrating didn't feel like what she should do though it had been long since she was gone.
Jungkook comforted her, being the best friend he was, he knew her death had an impact on her usual routines. She finally agreed and then they were there around and among the royalties. The faint chattering across the whole place could be heard and it was obvious that apart from being jovial they were respectful to Late Chaewon Sung, as they should be.
"Soomin, what a pleasant surprise! I'm glad you came."
"Congratulations, Mr. Ryu. It's been an honor to be invited by you," She had a sealed smile, on her red-tinted lips of unfeigned delight.
"Mr. Ryu? After all this time you're still not out of this habit?"
"If only my profession would allow," With that, a soft cackle was inaugurated between the two.
She had noticed how everyone's eyes had been stealing glances from her and instead of being creepy, it was more of sincere spares and smiles they would return to her. All glances but one; a man neatly dressed in a black tux, sipped his champagne while his eyes were on her. He deflected his vision from her when she was on the peak of catching him.
"You are the talk of tonight, Soomin. I'm assuming you're aware of the reason already. Enjoy," Ryu meant about all that took place earlier that day around noon; in the case of Chaewon. He soon left to attend to the others with that you stood alone for a while. Jungkook was a solo artist, directed, and songwriter so; he had been busy having a talk with a few other celebs present there.
Soomin felt that piercing gaze on her again but was trying to not look in that direction. It wasn't uncomfortable rather a completely opposite feel but only if she could decipher. "Hey, Soomin," She finally found a familiar face.
"Jungkook, why leave me alone at this place? It's weird having no one around."
"No one around? Girl, you've been talked about almost everywhere and you say you got no one around, huh... fair enough."
"Well, I won't approach anyone to talk to on my own, and don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about."
"Uh... huh, well. Lemme introduce you to Yoongi. He's kinda into your presence tonight."
"Oh, really?" She said in a sarcastic tone as if it were true.
"I'm not kidding. He's a rapper, songwriter, producer, directed, and..."
Interesting.
She thought, being impressed by his talent in multiple fields.
Didn't take long for the person that was being talked about to reach where she was.
"Soomin, this is Yoongi. He's like a big brother to me," Jungkook fled away for some reason and a coy smirk was passed to her without Yoongi's knowledge.
"Hello Soomin, I'm Min Yoongi." His one hand reached out for a hearty handshake. It was something Yoongi didn't do much but, of course, she had no idea about this different treatment.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Min. I'm Soomin as Jungkook mentioned, Choe Soomin, an attorney," He could feel the righteousness in each syllable that left her lips. The dauntless Choe, had a very front approach to the people she met and Yoongi was no different but that unusual shine in his eyes didn't seem in the pink to her.
"Yes, Miss. Choe. I'm quite aware of that fact and what you did today was remarkable."
"I'm grateful for your kind words, Mr. Min and by any chance, is that a way to mock me?"
"How do you mean?" His head was slightly tilted by the choice of words Soomin made.
"As in calling me, Miss. Choe?"
A smile forged upon his lips and that was the first time she saw through his hardcore shell demeanor, the soft side that was deep inside. "No Miss. Choe, absolutely not, I'm just trying to equalize the respect you're outpouring on me."
Soomin, at last, smiled at this, and just after a few more talks, they were back to square one. He was sipping his drink and her - with no one around. She needed some fresh air and so was near the terrace, watching over the horizon that was loaded with stars. She never wanted to come here in the first place but just because of her best friend she gave in and came. The blend of blemishes and glow made it perfect in its own uniqueness, the moon seemed to be looking at her and she was lost in its beauty.
She missed Chaewon.
She heard someone's presence behind her but wasn't bothered to turn around. "Kook, I just need some air. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have come here. God, you always get me in stuff like this," Miss. Choe Soomin was gone and all he saw now was a girl who just needed some time to sort out her emotions, "I really miss Chaewon, you know... I..."
"Miss. Choe?" She gaped at the voice and was now embarrassed at all the things her mouth allowed to let go of.
"Apologies, Mr. Min, I mistook you for Jungkook," She slightly bowed her head at the man whom now she felt a little uneasy with. His face looked precious under the moon and maybe her lips did slowly part.
"It's okay, Miss. Choe. I understand..." He stepped closer to stand beside her but he didn't face her once, his eyes were far away lost in the scenery in front that he witnessed, "...Chaewon had been on really good terms with me. I produced her first album and I remember the time she debuted as an actor."
"You did?"
"Yes, Miss. Choe."
"I had no idea."
It was awkward with no one to start a conversation though both had things to say and experiences to share. The tornado was calm and the tsunami meant no harm. Both were the same and just the opposite in the circumstances they found themselves in. The rapper king whom the world knew for his tongue technology was silent and the heroic woman whom the world knew for her great forgery of statements and just had no word to say.
"How about a coffee sometime, Mr. Min?" The first move was made and the heroic woman took the lead from him. Who says guys should be the ones to approach first?
Soomin never thought she would see that smile again yet there it was and it soon would turn out to be something she would observe every now and then.
"Sure, only if you call me Yoongi."
