Ugh, it's 6:30 already??!
Friday. It was Friday once again. That one day in a week that I hate the most in this world. People like to say 'Party Night, new beginning!' new my butt. Maybe I'd think like that if I wasn't a highschool student. All Fridays meant more school, more stress and mainly more homework!!
I went through my texts again and smiled. My cupcake always knew how to bust my motivation into a pile of fine snow. Except this time, I needed a lot more than motivation to have so many information's up in my head. I sighed and took out 2 big spiral notebooks filled with notes and books of that subject. I plastered them out on the table.
The little "Ding Dong" sound echoed through the room. Another costumer entered, the costumer went to another table. I flashed him a quick look before turning my attention back to the books.
If you wonder, no. I was not in the library. I was in my regular, favorite study place. Café, 'Glens.'
Well, I guess I grew upcoming here after school. It is peaceful and aesthetically decorated with yellow lights and White Roses on every table top. The smell of coffee relaxes me more and reduces the stress. I will be able to study for hours sitting in a café like this. On top of that, not many people were staying at the late hours, which was bringing the wanting silence.
None the workers there knew me because for some reason the manager keeps changing their workers. As weird as it sounds, I felt more comfortable there than in my own home, was it because of the light yellow walls that shined like the sunlight? Was it the tasty air and the warm atmosphere? Can't say exactly. Main thing, I loved that little café.
As always, I didn't expect much of Friday, I thought it as to be yet another boring day. As soon as I came, one of the waitresses flashed me a smile, which I returned before going to my usual spot. They seemed more busy than other times so I didn't want to bother them with my order right away.
Twenty minutes into studying, I finally lifted my head and cracked my neck, looking over at the counter and seeing a young boy around my age cleaning some glasses. He's so focused into it, that he didn't notice my stare.
Well, beat me, but I couldn't help staring. He was so handsome and beautiful. White half-sleeved shirt and black turtle neck under, it defined his chest and arms with biceps, not to mention his broad shoulders and a tiny waist. I needed every person's strength in the world not to faint upon seeing those arms. Muscular, but veins, VEINS. One of my biggest weaknesses when it comes to guys.
His long and thick legs were dressed with tight black pants, which looked really tight. My thick legs seriously wanted a competition with his. The color of his apron and his eyes were perfectly matched, as dark and deep as the night sky.
He is one of the workers, who I guessed was new, since I never saw him until today.
I shaked my head lightly and came back to my senses. Being a hundred percent nervous, I lifted half my hand, my fingers closed, slightly to grab his attention. "Sorry to disturb but uh-" I said in my not so usual voice. He moved his head sideways and found my eyes. "But um.. can i get a regular sized Iced coffee, please?"
His velvet smooth skin glowed more upon the yellow lights, those doe eyes showing how big they actually were.
His gaze fell from my eyes down to the table, on all notebooks and pencils before quickly giving me a smile and a small nod, a bunny smile.
I honestly couldn't get to stare enough of him, but I also don't want to make this guy uncomfortable. So I put on my airpods in my ear and started to play my favourite song and turned back to face the notes again.
That was somewhere near max, I didn't hear when he approached me. Seeing him placing my order on the table, I lifted my head and smiled with a small "Thank You" escaping my mouth and removed my airpods. He smiled back at me and said. "You're welcome, Enjoy." In a volume which I could only hear.
My eyes followed his figure until he went back to the counter. He almost caught me looking but I moved my eyes in the speed of light, landing them on a big, plastic cup a bit further away from my table.
I took a look at my coffee and saw that it had chocolate shreds and choco drizzle.
I looked back at him and spoke again. "Um.. sorry, but this order is not mine." He looked at me, a bunny smile glowing on his lips.
"Don't worry about that, it's my treat."
Hold up, hold up, hold up. Did he just give me a extra chocolate, for free? Like, for real?
"O-okay then. Thank you, that's really sweet of you." I managed to say without my voice cracking and he smiled more. It really felt enchanted at that moment.
"I know how it feels to be drowned in homework and how stressful it can be. It's the least i can do for such a hardworking student like you." That sentence right there, was the most beautiful thing that anyone has ever told me.
Feeling warmness flushing through my cheeks, I greeted the notebooks in front of me again, smiling shyly.
I felt more motivated than ever, more than motivation that I'll feel when my cupcake encourages me. It felt odd but it felt just right!.
After a while I checked the time using my phone and it said 11:36. "Pretty late for a girl to stay out" said a voice mail when I opened my messages. It was from my cupcake, but how did she know I was still not home? Afterall my parents are in a another country. "Unnie, how did you know that I was still not home?? By the way I was studying in my usual spot for next week's examination" i said quietly not wanting to trigger any other costumer sitting next to my table.
A notification popped up, "Voicemail successfully sent to Cupcake" I glanced at the screen before turning it off. It is pretty late, I better get home fast. I started pushing my notebooks and books inside my new Tote bag that I brought a few days ago using my savings.
Suddenly that boy who I was earlier staring at came towards me and I completely froze. "Hey, uh a guy came outside the the shop and told me to give this to you" He said and stumbled away nervously. I took it from his hands, it was a bouquet of Red Roses, it had a note outside sticked to the cover which was tinted plainly.
The note read,
"Thorns aren't the only thing that hurts."
- Yours.
What does that supposed to mean this time?? I'm always surprised with these Red Roses with notes surprisingly but perfectly 2 months before my birthday for the past 3 years. I asked the waiter, he came towards me and whispered near my ear making my spines shiver. "A really good looking guy came to me and told me to address it to you" I blushed really hard because of the space between us, my heartbeat was rising and I'm really sure that he heard it because the whole café was silent with only 2 people excluding me.
With nervousness laying on my chest, I asked him. "Do you know anything else about him? Like his name??" He responded with a simple nod of disagreement" I sighed and walked out of the café after gently shoving the Rose bouquet inside my tote bag. I said a small and quiet "Bye" to him before walking forward and he waved while smiling with his bunny teeth. "Cute" I muttered mentally.
