Saturday went pretty okay. Lando qualified P9 which wasn't too bad. I had met most of the drivers by now which was nice. His race was decent too. He had just parked in park ferme and climbed out of his car in a P8 result. He came back into the garage and pulled his helmet off. He wasn't satisfied himself I could see it in his expression. He went by the team as I staid seated in my chair as I wanted to let him do his thing. He finished off with laying his helmet, balaclava, earplugs and neck support away. He looked around the garage and spotted me. Our eyes locked as he gave me a wink making me smile a little wider. He looked away again as Charlotte started talking to him. He sipped his water while placing his cap on his head. He zipped his racing suit down half way so it hung around his hips loosely. He nodded to Charlotte a few times before looking over his shoulder shortly. I saw her laugh before she gave him a little push. He jogged towards me as I was standing now. I wrapped my arms around his neck as his arms wrapped around my waist.

Amelia: "you did great."

Lando: "could be better."

Amelia: "could also be worse."

Lando: "true."

I placed a kiss just above his mask before nodding to Charlotte who was leaning against a wall looking at us.

Amelia: "I think she's waiting for you Lan."

Lando: "oh yes! I will finish media duties and then change so we can head home okay?"

Amelia: "sounds good."

He left the garage while I went to his drivers room which was locked. I sighed and turned around walking back outside. What was I gonna do in the mean time? All my stuff was in there and my phone had died a few minutes ago. I walked outside and saw Carlos walk to the media pen.

Amelia: "Carlos!"

Carlos: "hey Amelia."

Amelia: "great drive out there. I had a small question tho."

Carlos: "yea?"

Amelia: "Lando locked his drivers room and all my stuff is in there. Could you ask him for the key?"

Carlos: "yes sure."

The Spaniard walked into the paddock and laid his hand on Lando's shoulder whispering something into his ear. Lando looked my way and smiled softly. He said something back to Carlos before Carlos walked back to me. Did he have it or not?

Carlos: "he won't give it to me. He wants you to come get it."

Amelia: "such a child..."

Carlos: "he's not gonna hand it to anybody else sorry."

Amelia: "thanks for asking Carlos."

I smiled at the guy before making my way thru the media pen. I stood next to Charlotte just outside of the camera view. Lando looked at me with a boyish grin playing on his face.

Lando: "hai."

Amelia: "can I have your keys please? My phone died and my charger is in the room but it's locked."

Lando: "what do I get from it?"

Amelia: "a happy me. Gonna be a long travel with a grumpy me. Just a warning."

Lando: "I'm in I'd we trade for a kiss."

Amelia: "nope. I just want to charge my phone. I would get a call any moment."

Lando: "about Fabs."

Amelia: "yea."

No. I just wanted those keys.

Lando: "here."

Amelia: "danke schön."

I walked back to the drivers room and opened it. I walked in and sat down on the couch after plugging in my charger. I opened my laptop and scrolled thru my mails.

After a long travel day we arrived in England. We went thru all security checks and went to the clinic to see Fabi directly. I started pulling the skin around my nails before Lando laid his hand on top of mine stopping me from pulling. The ride went by so much slower then I would have hoped but when we finally arrived we jumped out quickly. I asked the stable number at the desk and after hearing the number 21 I rushed towards there. Lando's footsteps followed quickly behind me. I pushed the door open and there he was. My white little boy. He was lying flat in the shavings. His breath was unsteady as sweat was visible over his whole body. Tears came to my eyes as I saw how much he was hurting. I turned my head to Lando who looked at me. He might didn't know a lot but he knew this wasn't good.

Amelia: "get a vet please?!"

He nodded to me before walking away. I sat down in the stable and laid his head in my lap. I gently stroked the head of the gelding trying to calm him down. I softly talked to him as he began to shiver. The vet arrived and looked at Fabi and then me.

Amelia: "it's over for him..."

The vet nodded not saying anything before walking away again. He would get the syringe to let Fabi go. He was in too much pain... it wasn't fair to him anymore.

Lando: "what is he gonna do?"

Amelia: "I've to let him go Lando... I don't want him to be in pain..."

Lando sighed and walked into the stables. He kneeled down behind me wrapping one of his arms around my shoulders while with the other one he gently stroked Fabi's head.

Lando: "it's okay Lia... he couldn't have a better life then with you. You've always cared ao good for him."

Amelia: "never good enough for the things he helped me too..."

I placed a kiss on my hair while we staid silent. These would be his last breaths. The vet arrived back and looked at me again. I nodded as he let the liquid enter Fabi's body. Tears rolled over my cheeks gently. It's over... I will never get a new round on Fabi ever again. I'll never hear him greet me when I call his name... it's all over.

Amelia: "it's okay boy... you can't do anything for me anymore... thank you for everything..."

His eyes slowly closed as his breathing stopped and his body slowly became colder. Soft sobs left my body as Lando erased his hand from Fabi's head. He hugged me tight as he placed a kiss on my head.

Lando: "I'll give you a minute alone okay?"

Amelia: "thanks."

The head of the gelding became heavier in my lap as I laid my head on top of his. I cried and cried. His soft coat now soaked in my tears as I staid petting the lifeless horse. I looked at the head of the horse and wiped away my tears.

Amelia: "thank you... thank you for everything Fabi. Your one in a million... you were one in a million."

I placed a last kiss on his head before standing up. I walked out of the stable after getting the blanket off of him and cutting a part of his tail with the help of a vet. I thanked them for trying their best before I walked outside where Lando was standing waiting for me. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders as I sobbed into his McLaren hoodie.

Lando: "let's go home okay...?"

Amelia: "yea..."

I looked over my back one more time before sitting in the passengers seat of my BMW. We drove back home and parked the car next to the one that belonged to Flo. It was 21:37 by now as we stepped out. Flo opened the front door and ran out engulfing me into a huge hug.

Flo: "oh Ami... it's alright."

Amelia: "he's gone Flo... he's fucking gone!"

We went inside and I changed myself into some breeches. I pulled on my coat and stable sneakers before going outside without saying any word. I arrived there and looked at the horses. The stable next to Quince was empty from now on. I laid Fabi his blanket over it before I took out Azzuro of his stable. I tacked the gelding up in a black saddle pad with his black saddle, bridle, boots and breastplate. I pulled on my own boots and leaded the horse to the indoor arena where the jumps were already standing. I started warming up and then doing some jumps around the arena taking different lines every time. It kept my mind of for quite a while until I arrived back at the stables where I tacked the brown gelding off and placed him back in his stable. I went outside and only now noticed how hard it was raining. I had my AirPods in the whole time so I didn't notice. I erased my AirPods from my ears and placed them in pockets of my hoodie. I walked to the front door and looked back to the stables. The outdoor windows were open and normally the white head of the gelding stuck out there but it didn't anymore. I sighed softly and turned my body around walking back to the stables. I didn't care if I was soaked anymore. Jazzy greeted me softly from the window next to Quince so 2 stables further.

Amelia: "hey Jazz..."

I gave her a gentle pet before looking at the door where Fabi his name was on. I stood staring at it for a few minutes forgetting about the rain drenching me. I sighed one last time before walking inside of the house. This time really walking in. I hung my coat on the heater and placed my shoes underneath it. I walked into the living room where I saw Lando sitting nervously as he looked up to me. He sighed in relief as his eyes fell on me. Flo smiled softly at me before standing up.

Flo: "I'm heading home guys. See you tomorrow."

Amelia: "see you tomorrow."

She gave me a hug even tho I was drenched and then walked out. Lando's eyes scanned my body as I moved towards the stairs.

Amelia: "I'm gonna shower."

Lando: "yea that's alright."

I walked up the stairs softly. Before showering I uploaded a picture of Fabi and I together on my account tho.
