I Still Believe In Heroes. -- (Avengers)

Days after the Battle of New York

New York was once again back to normal. The bodies of the Chituari and the Leviathans were taken away by the Department of Damage Control. Loki was restrained and was to be taken to Asgard, where he'd face Odin for his crimes.

The God of Mischief was now bound in chains, and now had a device on his mouth to prevent him from speaking, due to him mimicking Steve when he was "on his way to coordinate search-and-rescue."

Loki's scepter was taken by Shield agents Brock Rumlow & Jasper Sitwell, but unknown to anyone else, Rumlow & Sitwell were undercover HYDRA agents, who did not return it to SHIELD. Instead, it went elsewhere.

But people praised the heroics of the new-found group of superheroes known as The Avengers. Seemingly overnight, they took the world by storm, just like how the Beatles did, and the entire world knew them.

Iron Man, the Genius Billionaire.

Captain America, the Super-Soldier, the Man Out of Time.

Thor, God of Thunder & Prince of Asgard.

The Hulk, the Strongest there is.

Iron Marvel, The Cosmic Defender.

Black Widow, The Master Assassin & Super Spy.

And Hawkeye, The Master Archer.

Wherever their names were heard, they were met with praise and appreciation for their roles in saving their city. All over the world, their names were sung with love and dedication, and children had soon gained a favorite superhero.

But one man claimed, "Superheroes in New York? Give me a break!" This elderly man with white hair and glasses made a claim, and only gave his first name, "Stan."

Now, the Avengers gathered in Central Park to see Thor off with Loki. Zach had taken the Tesseract, and placed it within an Asgardian containment chamber, ready to be taken with Thor.

Thor took one end of the chamber and offered the other side to Loki. In his mind and in his heart, he knew somewhere Loki would change, and he was still his brother, regardless if he was Jotun.

Loki took the other end, and Thor looked towards his new friends, nodding to Selvig to take care. Thor twisted the end, and the two gods disappeared into the sky, being transported to Asgard.

Tony and Bruce became friends, and Bruce prepared to become "science bros" as Tony put it, and the two drove off together to Malibu.

Steve already headed off on his motorcycle, in this new world he was put into, there was so much to explore besides being Captain America. Now with a small notebook filled with things he needed to see, gifted to him by Zach, he was ready to explore the 21st century.

First thing on his list: Watch Star Wars.

Others included: The Captain America exhibit in Washington, D.C, Doctor Who, listen to Nirvana, get the latest iPhone. (Steve had no idea what it was, and his primary device had been a flip-phone.)

Clint was taken in a Shield car, and was ready to see his wife, Laura, and his children, Cooper and Lila Barton. Zach & Natasha had the pleasure of meeting the Bartons, and they had not only an "Auntie Nat," but they also had an "Uncle Zach."

He now had three kids calling him "Uncle" at this point.

Natasha decided to stay in the city for a while, and had dropped Zach off with a promise to meet later for something.... She never said what it was, but Zach had an idea of what she meant.

But as for the last Avenger, he returned home to his sister (who had been worried sick) and his nephew, now claiming that he was the Iron Marvel's number one fan, and he wanted an action figure immediately.

Before Tony left for Malibu, he had one more thing to do. In the Stark Tower, he generated seven profiles on his holo-table alongside Pepper, and had a crew clear the sign outside of the wreckage, for there was no big "STARK" on the side of the building anymore.

This was no longer Stark Tower. This was Avengers Tower.

"Humans."

"They are not the cowering wretches we were promised."

"They stand... they are unruly. THEREFORE, cannot be ruled."

The Other stands behind the chair of their master, now having been unsuccessful with their invasion of Earth. The man places his hand on the arms of his chair, and stood up, causing the Other to kneel down before him in fear.

"To change them... is to court Death itself."

The Other's master turned from his position after gazing upon their destroyed home planet, the Once Great Titan. The warlord had dark purple skin, and a blue & gold helmet. His right hand was bare, but his left wore a golden glove, with six spaces embossed into them to hold circular objects.

Infinity Stones.

This warlord went by many a name. The Madman. The Tyrant. The Genocidal Warlord.

But he preferred only one; The Mad Titan.

This name suited him very well. A former citizen of the planet,Titan, cast away for his Malthusian ideals of population, therefore making him insane, delusional... mad.

But his real name, his birth name would strike fear in his opponents. Past, Present & Future.

Thanos... The Mad Titan.

Um... were you expecting something else?

Sike! You really thought that was it? Nahhh, we're just getting started...

"Director Fury, you called me here?" Maria Hill walked into Fury's office in the Triskelion, one of Shield's many known headquarters.

"Agent Hill, thank you for coming," Fury greeted her, and asked for her to sit down. "In light of the Avengers forming together, I decided to do something that may be – unethical – in ways."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"Agent Coulson is undergoing Project T.A.H.I.T.I."

Maria was in complete shock at what Fury revealed to her. "Sir, with all due respect, he knows what happened, you couldn't do that to him!" She pleaded. "You could have let him rest in peace."

"That may be true," Fury answered. "However, Project T.A.H.I.T.I. was created should an Avenger perish in battle. That was what happened to Coulson."

"Well, what will happen to him then? Don't you remember what happened to the others who went through it?"

"I've thought ahead of that, Agent Hill. Which is why I tasked the doctors working on him to rewrite his memory so he has none of the operation. I've also tasked Agent May to keep an eye on him.

Maria looked confused for a moment. "But I thought Melinda was on desk duty after Bahrain—"

"It doesn't matter." Fury said as he stood up. "Because with Agent Coulson back in action soon enough, I want to establish a covert ops field team with him as a lead, along with these candidates."

Fury pulled out a wad of files, spreading them across his desk with the candidates for Coulson's field team, and Maria reached for one of them.

"Leopold Fitz and Jemma Simmons," Fury told her. "Top of their class in SHIELD academy, and highly proficient in their work." Maria looked through their files, and was amazed by the work they'd done, compared with how old they were.

"Fitz is a gifted engineer, Simmons is a young biochemist," Fury listed. "They're inseparable. When their professors told me about Fitz-Simmons, I thought it was just one damn person. Turns out, it's two. With their skills, they're a perfect fit."

Maria picked up another one, this one she didn't very much appreciate. "Grant Douglas Ward..." She sighed, putting down his profile. She already knew who Ward was.

"Trained with John Garrett as his S.O, and one of Shield's finest." Fury explained. "I know you have your reservations about him, but at least he will be put in check with Coulson."

Maria picked up the next one and opened it, and was already impressed with the next choice. "Nicholas Sawyer," She smiled. "Son of Shield Legend, Peyton Sawyer."

"Already impressed," Fury remarked. "Skilled in firearms, rivals Ward's by a hell of a lot, and he's been a remarkable agent. Just like his mother."

"You already know about Zach Danvers-Stark," Fury commented as she picked up a familiar file. "Course I do, trained under Romanoff, and one of the select few on this team that were trained by Shield's finest." Maria acknowledged. "But what's an Avenger doing on a field ops team?"

"Out of the candidates selected, Mr. Danvers-Stark has something the others don't, powers," Fury explained. "Along with that, he's the second person on the team to come in contact with alien technology. To add on top of that, he's been around Shield agents, trained with Shield agents... I believe it's time he gets to work with them."

"And now we are down to our last two," Fury said as he looked at the remaining files. "Took a little convincing, but they've agreed to this."

Maria took the files and opened them together, and she was shocked. "Sir... don't you think..."

"Oh, Zach'll be mad at me for sure," Fury accepted. "But it was ultimately for his own good, and to protect him."

"Sir, it's not just that, you separated them years ago–"

"But in the end, Agent Hill, Zach will learn to be around them again." Fury said to her. "I'm sure deep down, he knows he still loves her."

"Very well, sir."

Agent Hill put down the files open for the names of the last two agents, and put one next to Zach's.

It was none other than Ella & Eddie Monroe.

SIKE AGAIN! I ain't leaving y'all with just that. I wanna get y'all excited for what's to come!

You thought Phase 4 was emotional damage? Wait till you see what's coming next...

One month later...

Hydra Stronghold, Sokovia, 2012.

"For our notes, can you please state your name... and confirm your status?"

"Wanda Maximoff. Volunteer." The young Sokovian woman spoke in her native accent. The brunette had fear in her voice, those who came into the same room as that spear-like object, had never come out. She was afraid she would die there.

"Begin experimentation." The scientist told his subordinate.

"Doctor, with respect..." the man spoke up to him. "Not one subject has survived — direct contact..."

The Scientist ignored his qualms and instructed the woman through the speaker. "Approach the scepter."

Wanda slowly walked towards the scepter, glowing a faint blue. "I— just..." She said quietly, but the scepter began to shake violently. She eyed the object intently, and it did something that it never had done before.

The blue object removed itself from the scepter and floated in front of Wanda, as if she was worthy to be in front of it.

As if it were sentient, the object moved towards Maximoff, who stood in place, watching it. She was amazed by this thing, the color and glow of this.

She began to reach out to the object, and as if she was a key, the object turned bright goldish-yellow, and showed it's true self to her.

This was the Mind Stone itself.

All of the sudden, the room glowed yellow, blinding the scientists and making Wanda turn back from it's brightness. She turned back around to the light, only to see a figure in front of her, a woman in a crownlet and a red outfit.

Little did the young Maximoff know she would be that woman she saw before her... was actually her.

Then her vision shifted, and showed her a young man with black hair and what seemed to be an Iron Man suit, only slimmer and with a different chestpiece, rather than an Arc Reactor, it was what looked like to be a star.

She had no idea who this mystery man was, she couldn't see his face. But when she did, she found he was devilishly handsome, and she couldn't help but wonder who this man was.

Something about him was connected to her.

And then, Wanda lost consciousness.
