Ray POV
   I sit in a chair at the police station, waiting to be told that I can go home. They are still questioning the Vanners, and I can't leave until they make a decision.
   Right then, Payton's mom walks in. She looks around and sees me, then hurries over. I smile as she sits down next to me.
   "Ray, are you alright?" she asks me quickly. I nod.
   "Yeah, I'm alright. Thank you for coming." She nods and turns back around in her chair.
   "No problem. Payton sounded pretty worried when he called me earlier." She looks over at me. "He really cares about you, you know. More than I think I've seen him care about...anyone."
   "I'm lucky to have friends like him," I tell her.
   "Mhm. So, how long have you been here?"
   "Probably about half an hour. I'm supposed to wait until they finished questioning the Vanners. They won't question me because I'm underage. The officer I was talking to said it could take up to a few hours, but I have to wait until they are finished incase they need to ask me anything." I look over at her again, and she sighs.
   "Well, then we can wait together." She gives me a smile. "And then we can go home after. Have you ate yet?"
   "I had something at the hospital."
   "That was a while ago, though, wasn't it?" she asks, giving me a suspicious look.
   "I'm fine," I assure her.
   "Mhm," she mumbles, turning away again. "So, how's your leg feeling?"
   "Alright. The doctors gave me some pain medication at the hospital for everything, so it's alright right now," I tell her, self-consciously looking down at the long cast. "I think it'll be fine."
   "Yeah. How about you get some sleep, and I'll wake you up when it's time to go?" she asks.
   "Nah, I'm good."
   That didn't work out very well because a few minutes later, I fall asleep against her shoulder.

Payton POV
   "I have so many ideas!" Chaser squeals, hitting my arm as we walk back to the front of the mall.
   "You have so many ideas on how to get someone to date me?" I ask skeptically.
   He sighs. "Well, not right now, but I feel them coming along."
   "Yeah, sure." I sigh and shake my head as we get to where everyone is waiting at. We start heading out the doors to the bus since we are all here.
   "We could ask Noen. I'd bet he know," Chaser whispers to me. "Because apparently you don't like my ideas."
   "I never said I didn't like your ideas. I just said that you had none. And Noen hasn't even had a girlfriend. Why would we ask him?" I whisper back as I climb up the bus.
   "Why would we ask who what?" Noen asks from the seat in the front of the bus.
   "Nothing," I say quickly, then keep moving back to my seat.
   "Chaser?" Noen asks. I turn around quickly to try and stop him, but he blurts it out before I can.
   "Payton likes Ray," he says hurriedly. They both turn, along with a few other people, to look at me. I just shake my head and sit down as soon as I can, then shove my AirPods in and tune everyone else out.
