Chapter Ten
(You'll see what the dress is for. Also...... somethings gonna happen tonight ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) so a warning because it's gonna get... kinda freaky.)
What was taking Barry so long? He should be back with Snart.
"Cora! Cisco!" Barry yelled through the comms as his vitals started to beep. I ran over towards the monitors, nearly throwing Cisco off his feet as I pressed the button.
"Barry?? What's going on?" I asked, worried consuming my voice as I saw his temperature dropping. "Did they send you to the frozen tundra or something?!"
"Snart! He hosted me with his cold gun." Barry informed as Caitlin ran over.
"His vitals are bottoming out!" Caitlin said as Cisco started typing into the computer.
"I'm bringing the heat!" Cisco yelled as he pressed enter, watching as the virtual suit on the screen started to glow orange as heat emitted from it.
"Cisco what did you just do?" I asked as he crossed his arms with a smug look on his face.
"I installed a heating system into the suit a while back after Snart escaped in case something like this happened." Cisco said as I smiled.
"So it worked?" I asked as I heard Barry huff.
"Yeah. It worked. But Snart is gone, and Lisa has a lot of explaining to do." Barry said, and within seconds (give me a minute I need to cry) he was back at S.T.A.R. Labs, scowling at Lisa.
"So your brother was not kidnapped. He was pulling a job with your father." Barry informed us as I turned my head to Lisa, who looked surprised as she shook her head.
"No. Lenny wouldn't do that." Lisa said as I raised a brow.
"Just like he wouldn't kidnap me and Caitlin, or blast the Flash with his cold gun?" I retaliated as Lisa frowned at me.
"Are you sure it was my dad?" Lisa asked as Cisco pulled up a photo of him. My eyes widened, her father did not age well.
"Lewis Snart. Convicted of larceny, armed robbery, aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon. Guess being a villain runs in the family." I said with a frown towards Lisa.
"You have to believe me. Lenny would never work with him." Lisa pleaded, but Barry and I weren't really buying it. "He's a bad guy."
"So are you." I added as Lisa held the frown on her face.
"You and your entire family are criminals. Why should we trust anything you say?" Cisco said as Lisa huffed, lowering the collar of her shirt to show a deep scar on her shoulder.
"I didn't get this scar from being a criminal. I got it from being a daughter." And with that, she stormed off to god knows where. Everyone turned to Cisco, who rolled his eyes.
"Fine, I'll go talk to her." Cisco said before walking in the direction of Lisa.
"Y'know..." I said quietly as I turned to Barry. "That dinner isn't going to eat itself." I said with a wiggle of my brows as Barry chuckled, turning to Caitlin who had a weak smile on her face, waving us off.
"Go. Have fun you two." Caitlin said as I smiled, and in the blink of an eye, I was in the spare bedroom of Joe's house, Barry's room across from mine as I walked up to the closet.
Opening it, I smiled at the dark blue, skin tight and shimmering dress that hung on the rack, the thigh-high slit in the side slightly hidden as it wasn't on a body.
The open back would probably not go well with a bra, which I guess was great if the front didn't dip so low, but Barry did want to go to a really fancy restaurant.
If I'm overdressed I will end up punching something.
I tied back my hair into a curly ponytail, applying very light makeup as I slipped on the dress and silver heels, grabbing my phone as Barry walked out in not a full suit and tie, but a fancy enough outfit for wherever we were going.
"You re-" I didn't get to finish my sentence, since both of our phones went off, Cisco and Caitlin calling us. I groaned, knowing it was most likely important, but wanted to finally have me and Barry time.
Because you know, we haven't had much of it since I got back a few weeks ago.
"Cisco, kinda busy." Said into the phone as there was muffled talking through Barry's phone. I chose to ignore Caitlin's call, feeling bad but knowing she knew I was with Barry.
"It's Snart. Cisco got a hit." Barry said as I sighed, letting him pick me up and speed us to S.T.A.R. Labs. When I opened my eyes, my hair was a mess and Barry was in his suit.
"Oooo Cora." Cisco said with a wiggle of his brows as I glared at him. Now, if it had been after our dinner, I would have done a bow of amusement, but since it was before, I was not in the mood to joke.
"I'll be back, Cora. I promise." Barry walked over and kissed my cheek as I held my frown, my hair flying around as he sped off, turning to Cisco and Caitlin.
"I'm not happy with you two." I said as they gave me an apologetic look. Caitlin's puppy eyed look seemed to make my anger towards her go away, and as Cisco attempted to do the same, it didn't work as well.
"Cisco, you just look like a constipated old man." I said as Cisco frowned at me, Caitlin snickering quietly. I sighed, sitting down in my chair as I waited.\
Around 5 or 10 minutes later, Barry returned with no Leonard or Lewis, leaving the three of us confused. I had continued to stay confused afterwards, having not seen Jay since I got back. Where the hell has he been?
***
I sat down in the chair across from Barry, a really, really cushioned chair that I found incredibly comfortable, since my ass was very sore. I had to hold back a sigh of relaxation, looking around at how fancy this place was. And if I was honest, I felt under dressed.
"Barry how the hell did you afford this place?" I asked as I turned to him, but his eyes had been sparkling with joy as he looked at me, completely ignoring the question.
"I'm sorry what?" He asked after a few short seconds of silence, a small laugh escaping me.
"How did you afford this place? I know being a CSI doesn't pay off very well unless you're the best in the country. Unless you happen to be the best in the country and I don't know it." I joked as Barry laughed, shaking his head before rubbing the back of his neck.
"Uh no.. I-Iris helped out with this.." Barry said quietly as the small smile on my face faded to confusion.
"She-She did?" I asked as he nodded.
"I guess it's just her way of wanting to apologize for everything she's done in the past few months... She's really sorry for accusing you about all of that stuff." Barry said as I held back a wide smile with a small one.
"Well. You can tell her that all is forgiven if I don't see her first." I said as Barry smiled, a look of relief on his face. I knew he hated seeing his girlfriend and best friend hate each other, so I could tell he was relieved that I had forgiven Iris about the situation.
A girl can still hold a grudge though. Bare minimum the grudge is higher than my ankle in these heels.
The waiter quickly arrived with this weird looking grey soup. Probably potato by the looks of it. But dang it was good.
For the next, I'd say two or three hours, Barry and I ended up laughing over literally anything. It didn't matter what it was, we couldn't take anything seriously. I could look at Barry, and we'd both have to hold in the food in our mouths or the drink in fear we'd spit it out from laughing.
I ended up nearly choking at one point from laughing so hard.
We both finished our drink's and started to walk home. It was probably the first time I had actually taken everything in of Central City in a year, since Barry always ran me to places most of the time, or I was driving and didn't pay attention.
And I have to say, Central City is beautiful at night. I was surprised how many stars were out, given the amount of lights on I'd suspected it wouldn't be so starry due to the light pollution.
Barry's hand linked into mine as we got closer to Joe's house, his hand warming my freezing one as we walked into the cozy house.
"Cora! It's so good to see you!" Iris said as she brought me into a hug, almost like she had forgotten everything she had done in the last four months. But, given I didn't feel like being a bitch tonight, I chose to hug her back.
"Good to see you too, Iris. Thanks for getting me and Barry that date, it was lovely." I said with a smile as she cleared her throat, nodding. "So, I hope Joe made lasagna for your guys dinner, because will be eating that in the middle of the night." I joked as Iris laughed.
"Sadly, he did not, he went out for the night to go somewhere. But I can ask him to make it tomorrow night if-"
"YES." I yelled, startling the two. "Sorry. I just love your lasagna." I added with a laugh before yawning.
"Yeah, I think me and Cora are gonna go to bed." Barry said as I nodded, Iris piping up.
"I should probably go back to the apartment anyway, it was good seeing you, Cora." Iris said with a smile as I did back, nodding.
"Goodnight Iris." I said with a small wave as Barry and I walked up to his bedroom. To be fair, I don't think I've used the guest bedroom very often. Mainly for my clothes and alone time.
I sat down on Barry's bed as he shut the door, a feeling of butterflies in my stomach as he sat next to me.
"So, did you enjoy the dinner? Because if you didn't I'm really so-"
"Barry it's fine. Dinner was great." I said with a laugh as he scoffed out one, looking down at the floor for a moment.
Both Barry and I looked into each other's eyes at the same time, his eyes sparkling as the moonlight from the window hit his face in every perfect angle.
Barry's hands reached up to cup my face, pulling me into a long, passionate kiss, a small smile on my face as my hands reached to the back of his neck.
The feeling of euphoria struck me faster than the lightning bolt that struck Barry, a warm feeling in my stomach hitting me as well as Barry forced me down onto the bed, but gently.
He easily slipped his tongue into my mouth, a small gasp escaping me from the suddenness of it.
Barry's hands trailed up and down the silk dress I still wore, the dress slowly rising up past my thighs. I kicked off of my heels as fast as Barry kicked off his shoes, my elbows propping me up as Barry's hands stayed on my hips.
His hands once again trailed up to the straps on my dress, stopping for a moment before I moaned out a yes.
He was still hesitant, like every time we had gotten this far, mainly because we were always interrupted before we could get anywhere.
After a few short seconds, Barry flicked off the straps that supported the top of my dress, which fell quickly and exposed my chest.
My hands became entangled in Barry's hair as he kissed up and down my chest and neck, one hand squeezing my breast gently before his lips met the other, pecking it softly.
Near silent moans escaped my lips as my hands continued to mess with Barry's hair before he brought his lips back up to mine.
Quickly, I tore his jacket off of Barry as he unbuttoned his shirt with his super-speed, feeling his hands vibrate at a fast pace once they touched my bare skin again, which caused me to burst into a short fit of laughter before I gasped, my dress now off.
"Well. I'm not surprised the fastest man alive wants to take things slow." I joked as Barry chuckled before pulling me into a deeper kiss.
My legs rose up as I wrapped them around Barry, inching him closer to me as I felt... that, touch my inner thigh, causing me to gasp quietly.
Mainly because... well- it's bigger than I thought, if I'll be honest.
Thoughts ran through my head as Barry and I now laid down in only our underwear and boxers, my heart feeling like it was racing faster than his. I don't think I've ever gone this far with him.
But it felt great.
Around 2 hours later
I laid next to Barry, cuddled closely to him as he slept soundlessly. I hadn't fallen asleep yet, and was getting pretty hungry, so I chose to very carefully glide myself out of bed.
Grabbing a robe, I put it on and... waddled, downstairs.
If I'm being honest, I could barely walk. This should be fun in the morning.
I looked at the clock on the microwave, which indicated that it was 10:37.
After having a very tasty midnight snack (fruity pebbles) I went back upstairs, where Barry still slept and crawled back into bed, my head resting on top of his chest.
I shut my eyes slowly, listening to his quick heartbeat, somehow putting me to sleep.
And for the first time in four months, I slept like a baby.
