The sorting
The Hogwarts Express finally pulled into Hogsmeade Station. Y/N stepped off the train and was immediately greeted by a towering figure. "Y/N Gryffindor?" the man asked, his voice booming.
Y/N nodded, and the man broke into a wide grin. "I'm Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. Dumbledore asked me to escort you to the castle."
Hagrid led Y/N to a fleet of small boats that were bobbing in the Black Lake. They climbed into one of the boats, and with a swift push from Hagrid, they were gliding across the water.
As they approached the castle, Y/N was awestruck. Hogwarts was even more magnificent than she had imagined. It was a towering, ancient castle, its many turrets and towers silhouetted against the twilight sky. The castle was lit up from within, casting a warm, inviting glow over the Black Lake.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," Hagrid said, his voice filled with pride. Y/N could only nod, her heart filled with a sense of wonder and anticipation. She was finally here, at Hogwarts, ready to start her magical journey.
She then followed hagrid to the great hall were everyone was standing waiting for the sorting ceremony to begin.
The Sorting Ceremony began with Professor McGonagall calling out names. "Draco Malfoy," she called, and Draco strutted up to the stool, the Sorting Hat barely touching his head before it shouted, "Slytherin!"
Next was "Harry Potter," and the room fell silent. The boy with the lightning scar sat on the stool, the hat on his head. After a moment that felt like an eternity, the hat finally shouted, "Gryffindor!" The Gryffindor table erupted in cheers.
Then, it was Y/N's turn. "Y/N Gryffindor," Professor McGonagall called. Y/N walked up to the stool, her heart pounding. She sat down, the hat was placed on her head, and she waited.
"Slytherin!" the hat shouted, and the room fell silent. Whispers filled the air. A Gryffindor in Slytherin? It was unheard of.
Y/N was shocked. She had expected to be sorted into Gryffindor, like her parents. But as she walked towards the Slytherin table, she realized that it didn't matter. She was still a witch, still a Hogwarts student. And she was ready to prove that she belonged, no matter what house she was in.
