Episode 1 Part 2
☽
HEADING FOR THE FIELD, Scott pauses as he notices Lydia and Luna climbing the bleachers. And to his utter surprise, stepping right behind them is the new girl... Allison.
Luna yawns before looking at her newly painted nails in boredom.
Allison watches the same boy from her first period. She wanted to know who he was as he was interesting and cute.
"Hey so um do you know who that is?"
Lydia glances at Allison before her eyes follow to where she was pointing, which happened to be at a boy standing in a field goal, "Him? I'm not sure who he is. Why?"
Allison shrugs nonchalantly, "He's in my English class."
Lydia nods then turns her gaze to her boyfriend. Allison looks at Luna once Lydia is distracted and gives her a help look.
Luna chuckles, "That's Scott. Scott McCall."
Scott looks up, shocked to not only hear Allison asking about him but also the fact that Luna Tate remembered even knew his name. But with his hearing momentarily turned up, he flinches at the whistle blow, sound ringing through his skull.
Luna winces slightly at the sound at the shrilling whistle before focusing on Scott who is withering around in pain in the field goal.
One of the bigger players charges forward as the Assistant Coach passes the ball to him. Catching it, he whips his stick forward, hurling the ball toward the goal. Still reeling from the whistle, Scott looks up too late to see the ball soaring toward him. It bounces right off his helmet and into the net. The team laughs wickedly. Even the Coach snickers.
Cheeks burning under his mask, Scott steals himself for the next player. When the whistle blows again, he's ready. The Assistant Coach passes the ball to the player who catches it and fires it right at the goal.
Scott moves startlingly fast, almost an instantaneous reaction. Then he notices the player staring at him with a mixture of disappointment and surprise. Scott has the ball.
He caught it.
When the next player takes the shot, Scott catches the ball again. And then again. And again. Nothing can get past him.
In the bleachers, the three girls all sit forward in interest.
"He seems like he's pretty good." Allison smiles.
"Very good." Lydia nods biting her lip.
Luna frowns noticing the lust in her voice. The girl had a perfect boyfriend yet here she was totally fangirling over a whole other guy.
Intrigued, Lydia keeps her gaze locked on Scott who now stands with a far more confident posture. Until he sees that Jackson is next in line. Glaring at Scott, he practically strangles the lacrosse stick with his gloves.
"Oh God..." Luna and Scott mumble at the same time.
The Assistant Coach tosses the ball up. Jackson launches forward, catching the ball and spinning around to fire it at the goal. But Scott moves with supernatural precision.
The ball lands right in the pocket of the goalie stick.
Stiles lets out a holler, jumping up on the bench. In the bleachers, Lydia stands and gives a whoop as well causing Jackson to throw a look at her. She returns his glare with a sly smile, a warning to step up his game.
Grinning, Scott gives the goalie stick a whirl, spinning it with a flick of his wrist and sending the ball soaring right into the pocket of the stunned Assistant Coach's stick.
Luna shakes her head with a smirk, "What happened to you Scott McCall?"

In the woods, Scott retraces his steps from last night with Stiles following behind him.
"I don't know what it was. I mean I felt like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball. And that's not the only weird thing. I mean I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. And I can smell things."
Stiles frowns, "Smell things? Like what?"
Scott shrugs before standing in place, "Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket."
"I don't have any..."
Before he can finish his sentence, Stiles pulls out a lint-covered piece of wrapped gum.
"All this started with the bite?"
"What if it's an infection? What if my body is flooding with adrenaline before I fall into shock? I knew I should have gone to the ER."
"I've actually heard of this. It's a specific kind of infection."
Scott gives him a frustrated scared look, "Are you serious?"
Stiles nods, "All the symptoms add up. I think it's called... Lycanthropy."
"What's that? Is it bad? It sounds bad."
"It is. But only once a month."
"Once a month?" Scott frowns confused.
"On the night of a full moon."
Scott looks at him. And then gets it.
Stiles howls with a laugh as Scott glares.
"You're an ass."
Stiles holds up his hands smiling, "Hey, you're the one who heard a wolf howling."
"There could be something seriously wrong with me."
"I know! You're a-"
"Werewolf."
Stiles and Scott let out a yelp as a girl pops out from behind a tree.
"What are you doing here?"
The girl shrugs taking a few steps forward with her arms crossed over her chest, "Following you."
Stiles' eyes roam down the girls body before quickly looking into her eyes as she catches him, "Why?"
"Because Stiles... something is up with your friend."
Stiles looks over at Scott before letting out a low squeal, "She remembered my name."
Scott rolls his eyes looking at the now smirking girl, "Look Luna I can promise you nothing is up with me."
Luna scoffs, "Yeah and I'm superwoman. No one becomes amazingly skilled overnight. You did so well today that almost everyone knows your name... now how is that possible?"
Scott looks to Stiles for help but instead receives a shrug, "I don't know how to explain it to you... I mean it did happen, but not overnight. I just finally figured out how to play lacrosse the right way."
Luna sighs inwardly before nodding, "I believe you... for now. How about this then... what are you two doing out in the woods?"
"Looking for my inhaler. I lost it the other night."
Stiles nods taking a step closer to Luna looking excited, "Yeah my dads the Sheriff so when he found out there was a dead body in the woods, we came out trying to find it."
"Weird."
Scott drowns out the two as he glances around, "I swear this was it. The body was here. The deer came running, I dropped my inhaler... almost got hit by an SUV... two seconds later got hit by you."
Luna mouth gapes open as she stares at Scott in shock, "I grazed you... no I tapped you. I wasn't going that fast because of the rain and you were standing in the middle of the road... I said I was sorry."
Stiles chuckles shaking his head before changing the conversation back on track, "Maybe the killer moved the body."
Scott sighs, "If he did, I hope he left my inhaler. Those things are like eighty bucks."
Luna rolls her eyes, "Yes, because a killer will really keep your bronchodilator for fun."
Scott frowns lost, "My what?"
Stiles taps him on the arm frantically, bringing his attention to a figure standing just a few yards away.
Luna glances around the two boys to see a boy who looked at least twenty and was unquestionably handsome. He had a rougher look than the cleanly shaven Beacon Hills boys and Luna was already hooked with just one glance.
"What are you doing here?"
Both Scott and Stiles are too stunned to speak at first.
Luna rolls her eyes once more sighing before leaning against a tree, "Standing around in the woods obviously."
Derek's eyes flicker to the unusual girl before glaring again at the two boys, "This is private property."
"Sorry, we didn't know." Stiles apologizes nudging Scott.
Derek stares at Scott, barely noticing Stiles.
Scott sighs, "We were just looking for something. Forget it. Sorry to bother you."
As they're turning to go, Derek tosses an object to Scott.
Scott's inhaler.
When he looks up, Derek is already gone. Luna grins intrigued as she realizes that something was not only unusual with Scott, but now the cute mysterious leather jacket wearing boy.
Stiles looks at the empty space where Derek was with wide eyes, "Dude, that was Derek Hale. You remember, right? He's only a few years older than us."
"Remember what?"
"His family. They all burned to death in a fire like ten years ago."
Luna frowns kicking leaves at her feet, "Aw that's really sad."
Stiles nods agreeing, "I remember the cops pulling him out of class to tell him."
"I wonder what he's doing back." Scott eyes the inhaler in his hand, closing his fist over it.
"Who cares? I for one am glad he's back." Luna smirks.
Stiles frowns, "Why?"
"He's hot. Finally someone new to bring something to this dreadfully boring town."
Stiles rolls his eyes at the short girl, "Luna he's not hot. He's anything but hot. He's creepy."
"Just cuz he's a creep doesn't mean he isn't good looking. Anyways it's freezing and you're giving me a ride home since I figured out we're next door neighbors. So let's go."
Stiles eyes widen and his body freezes as Luna grabs his hand. Scott chuckles at his best friend before following behind the two.
As they get to Stiles' car Luna looks at it for a moment, before giving an approving nod.
"Nice jeep. It's cute."
"Cute?" Stiles questions with a bizarre look on his face.
Luna ignores him and opens the passenger door, climbing into the back. Stiles looks away quickly trying not to stare up her skirt. He glances over at Scott giving him a questioning stare.
"Cute?"
After dropping off Scott at home, Luna leaps into the passenger seat and buckles up. She hums as Stiles drives to her house.
Stiles starts to sweat in nervousness at the fact that a beautiful popular girl was literally in his car.
It was just him and her.
They were all alone.
He glances over at her for a second before turning back to the road.
God she was gorgeous.
Now her and her gorgeous butt was sitting in his Jeep seat. Never in a million years did he think this would happen.
Maybe Harley was right about Luna being easier to catch then Lydia. She was actually kind of funny. And the fact that he and Luna both thought this town needed something to spice it up was something they had in common. But of course Stiles knew his love for Lydia Martin would never end. He had a ten year plan. She would be his in no time.
"So..."
Stiles jumps slightly at the sound of Luna's light yet husky voice.
Luna smiles, "How's your ten year plan going?"
Stiles frowns glancing at her before laughing uneasily, "How did you know about that?"
"I hear things..." Luna shrugs before realizing how crazy that sounded, "From people... I hear things from people."
Stiles grimaces with a nod, "It'll work... eventually."
"Sure it will." Luna shrugs nonchalantly looking out the window.
"Seriously... it will. Don't make fun of it."
"I'm not... yet anyways. I think it's... kind of sweet."
Stiles slams on the breaks making Luna's head hit the dashboard because of the harsh halt. He looks at her with a wide open mouth as she groans holding her head from the sudden impact.
"Ouch what the hell was that?"
"I'm sorry... did you say you think it's sweet?" Stiles asks nervously.
"Not anymore! Why are you so spazzy?"
Stiles bites his lip staring at her forehead that slowly starts to bruise, "I take a lot of adderall."
Luna nods, "I can see that."
"I'm sorry." Stiles reached across to examine her forehead, "Here let me see."
"No, I'm fine. Knowing you, you'll only cause more damage. I'm good."
Stiles nods firmly.
The two sit in complete silence for a minute before Stiles bursts in excitement.
"So you think Lydia would like my ten year plan?"
• • • • •
Stiles parks his car in his driveway before glancing over at Luna.
"Have you always been my neighbor?"
Luna sighs, "No, actually I moved in town with my Aunt when I was eight. But we just moved into this house probably a good year ago. I'm rarely home so that's probably why neither of us knew we were neighbors."
"You don't think maybe the fact that we didn't know each other has to do with..."
Luna glances over at Stiles frowning. She knew what he was pertaining to. Popularity. But she wasn't that kind of person. Sure she said something kind of rude to Scott this morning, but she was upset that Lydia had immediately ditched her to go talk to her other friend Valerie about her and Jackson. Lydia knew Luna hated hearing anything that involved Jackson, but that didn't mean Lydia should've dumped her as soon as they got to school.
"No. I'm very perceptive, Stiles. And just because I'm popular doesn't mean I'm a bitch."
Stiles nods slowly staring at Luna as she rubs her bruised forehead.
"You live with just your Aunt?" He changes the subject.
"Yep."
Stiles frowns at the short dry answer.
He wanted to know more about her, but he realized he would be pushing too much and he didn't want to lose the small piece of somewhat friendship that they had just started to kindle.
"Well it's getting late. School's tomorrow. Thanks for the ride."
"Of course. Anytime."
He watches her jump out the Jeep then walk over to her house. Luna waves goodbye to Stiles as she walks across the grass to her porch. Opening the front door, she says hi to her Aunt and Emerson before making her way to the kitchen.
"What happened to you?"
Fallen stands watching Luna grab a frozen bag of peas then place it on her bruised forehead.
"A spazzy teen who takes too much adderall."
Fallen nods then frowns, "Wait what?"
Luna waves a hand disregarding the statement, "So there's weird stuff going on in town. Did you and Emerson find out anything?"
"No, not yet."
Luna sits on a high chair at the counter, "There was a new girl at school today. Does the name Argent ring a bell?"
Fallen's eyes glimmer in realization, "The hunters."
Luna scoffs, "You make it seem like you're not one of them."
"Yeah well I'm retired. It was a family tradition. I don't want to be a supernatural hunter for the rest of my life. I actually want to do something to help others."
Luna nods in understanding.
Her Aunt used to be a well known deadly huntress. She used to be apart of the hunting clan with Chris and Kate Argent, but when she found out about Luna's incident she gave it all up. There was no way she could hunt down another creature knowing her niece was one of the creatures she would've usually killed. Now her aunt spent her time in the hospital working as a part time nurse.
"I get that. I'm glad you are. However, I'm pretty sure there's some supernatural stuff in the works."
Fallen nods towards the living room, "Yeah Emerson's been trying to track a werewolf around. And it seems as if Derek Hale is back. If that's not a coincidence then I don't know what's real and what's fake."
"I saw him earlier."
Luna watches a deep frown set in her Aunt's face, "Earlier? What were you doing?"
"Nothing. Just walking."
"Walking where... the woods?"
"Maybe..."
Fallen sighs rubbing her temple, "You do realize how dangerous it could be if he's the werewolf killing. Not only that but with the Argents back, if you allow them to figure out what you are, then you'll be next on their hit list as well. You need to stay away from the Argents and you damn sure need to keep away from Derek Hale. Is that understood?"
"Yes, yeah I understand..." Luna murmurs sadly immediately thinking about the new girl. She didn't seem Hunter like. If anything Luna believed she could be clueless when it comes to her family business.
Fallen walks up to Luna's seat and holds Luna's chin gently, making her stare into her brown eyes.
"I'm serious Luna. You're the only family I have left. I can't lose you. Promise me you'll stay away."
"I promise Fallen."
For once she was glad that her Aunt wasn't supernatural, because then she would have been able to hear Luna's heart skip a beat when she lied.
Fallen nods kissing the teen girls head, "Boyd is waiting for you upstairs. Don't tell him any of this."
Luna nods, "Is Emerson going to?"
"Eventually." Her Aunt murmurs before walking out the kitchen.
Luna sighs dropping her shoulders. She wanted her best friend to know what was going on. She didn't want to leave him in the dust.
Quickly running up the stairs, Luna makes it to her bedroom where Boyd was seated in her bamboo chair reading a textbook.
"B!"
Boyd looks up with a small smile, "Hey."
Luna pouts with her arms held out at her side, "What no hug?"
Boyd chuckles shaking his head, before standing up and pulling Luna into a hug. Luna breathes in his warm scent before they both let go.
"Whatcha doing here, stud?"
Boyd shrugs sitting back down, "Didn't feel like sitting home alone in the dark."
Luna frowns. She knew Emerson was here a lot, but she didn't think about how that effected Boyd. Emerson and Boyd were step brothers.
The two lived together after their parents died in a car crash. And now Emerson spent more time in Luna's house with his best friend, Fallen. But he didn't even think about how his absence was hurting Boyd.
"I'm sorry..."
"Don't be. That just means I get to hang out a little more with you."
Luna smiles, "Lucky you."
• • • • •
The next morning in an otherwise empty corridor at school, Luna strolls down to her locker. As she's about to turn the corner, she completely freezes sniffing the air as she realizes that Scott was in the hall as well. She's about to continue walking but halts once again as she smells a second scent.
Scott stands wearing his lacrosse gear, as he shoves his bag into his locker and slams it shut. He turns to find Jackson right behind him, staring him down.
"All right, little man, how about you tell me where you're getting your juice?"
Luna scoffs at the idiotic boy as she thinks to herself, 'Juice? Who the hell says that?'
"What?"
"Where. Are. You. Getting your juice?"
Scott stares at him utterly bewildered, "My Mom does all the grocery shopping."
Jackson stares at him for a moment as if trying to decide whether the kid is screwing with him.
"Listen, McCall, you're going to tell me what it is and who you're buying from. Because there's no way in hell you're kicking ass like that on the field without some sort of chemical boost."
Scott looks at him genuinely shocked, "Ohhh... You mean steroids?... Are you on steroids?"
Luna slaps her hand against her forehead muttering idiot.
Jackson grabs Scott, shoving him against the locker.
"What the hell's going on with you, McCall?"
Overwhelmed, Scott snaps, words coming out in a torrent, "What's going on with me? You really want to know? So would I. Because I can see, hear and smell things I shouldn't be able to see, hear or smell, do things that should be impossible, I'm sleepwalking three miles out into the middle of the woods and am pretty much convinced I'm going completely, totally out of my freaking mind."
Jackson scoffs, "You think you're funny? I know you're hiding something. I'm going to find out what it is. I don't care how long it takes."
He slams his fist against the locker, leaving Scott stunned as he heads out. Sighing, he lays his head back against the locker looking up at the ceiling. He hears light dainty footsteps but doesn't look up as he recognizes the girls scent.
"You okay?"
Scott just nods slowly.
"Jackson's pretty much an asshole to everyone."
Scott nods again.
"Really don't take him too seriously. He's all bark no bite."
Scott slowly brings his head down to stare at Luna trying to figure out if her statement had another meaning. He knew she was onto him just like Jackson was. But he also knew that she knew a lot more than she was letting on.
Luna reads him, immediately knowing what was going through his head.
"I know you think I have all the answers McCall but the truth is I don't. I'm an ordinary girl trying to figure out what the hell is going on as well as you. Minus the ordinary girl part."
She smiles then turns around walking the opposite way. Scott watches her disappear before letting out a harsh breath, grabbing his lacrosse equipment, and making his way onto the field.
Amid the players rushing the field, a very late Stiles finds Scott in the crowd and hurries toward him.
"Scott, wait up! You gotta' hear this."
Scott sighs, "I'm playing the first elimination, Stiles. Can't it wait?"
"Just hold on. I overheard my Dad on the phone. The fiber analysis came back from LA. They found animal hairs on the body from the woods."
Scott watches the team huddle up and starts to walk away, "Stiles, I have to go."
"You're not going to believe what the animal was--"
But with his helmet on, Scott rushes onto the field, leaving Stiles to say the next words to himself.
"It was a wolf."
"Seriously?"
Stiles jumps in the air letting out a scream, before turning around seeing an amused Luna.
"God do you just show up everywhere?"
Luna shrugs with a smirk, "When I feel like it, yes."
Stiles shakes his head, "We need to get you a bell."
Rolling her eyes she pulls Stiles jersey to her, making him let out a squeak of fear. Stiles stares down into her kind gleaming eyes, but knows that she is not all rainbows and unicorns as her face is stone cold and daunting.
"So Stilinski... a Wolf you say? There hasn't been wolves in California in over 60 years. That sounds kinda weird if you ask me, doesn't it?"
"I-I mean yeah..."
"And your friend is showing unusually gifted skills in lacrosse now as well as an altered character. That's kind of off, yes?"
Stiles nods slowly watching her stare intently back at him.
"I would keep an eye on him Stilinski."
With that, Luna lets go of Stiles jersey and pats it, straightening it out. Smiling innocently she winks at him then makes her way to the bleachers where Allison waits watching Scott.
"Hey who was that?"
Luna frowns looking at Allison point at Stiles, "Oh him? He's no one."
"Whatever you say... I think you two would be kind of cute."
"Never gonna happen."
a/n- as you can tell if you have been here in the beginning of the other book, i have changed up a little bit of the dialogue and now added a few things. i know a couple of people said that the story seemed like it was too revolved around Scott and lacrosse and i tried to change it a tiny bit... however this is a teen wolf series fanfic. it's not a complete oc story. i still want to have the other characters pov's as well. plus the whole first season was wrapped around lacrosse and honestly that's not going to change because in this world lacrosse was a big deal... and that's how the trio will grow closer as well as Scott figuring out what he is and how to control with the help of Stiles and Luna, so if you have a problem with that, then kindly gtfo.
i love teen wolf and i personally want this book to be following the show. the oc will have plenty of moments and background story but for the time being a lot isn't revealed about her and her past on purpose. i've planned this out in the best way to lead towards newer seasons where i do want Luna's past revealed (like season 3A and 3b). of course many things about the oc will come to light but be patient, you don't need to know everything the first season.
sorry rant over 😂
i do hope you guys enjoy though as i rewrite a couple things but for the most part everything is gonna be the same as the other book/ (rough draft)
fav character so far?
future predictions?
any special requests...
