To those who have opened this poetry collection and decided to give it a shot, bless your soul.

I began writing poetry to cope with trauma. These poems began as angry, one-lined poems scrawled in the journal beside my bed and have blossomed into artistic pieces laced with bloodlust and saltwater - purposely crafted to bring you back to an ill-fated moment of time. 

Twenty-Two Rotten Sunflowers is my first poetry collection. 

》𝘿𝙀𝘿𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉《

To him, for giving me something to write about.

To them, for breaking me. The joke is all on you. You taught me how to rebuild myself and I came back so much stronger than you would ever hope to admit.

This poetry collection contains themes of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, violence, sexual assault and mental illness. Whilst I do not believe my poetry touches on these topics enough to be classified as mature, I would not recommend reading my poems if you've recently struggled through these issues as they may be triggering to you. Please remember to put your mental health first!

This poetry collection refers to specific events I have lived through. Many people I write about are aware that I write poetry, just not that I write poetry about them. I would appreciate if you'd keep the identity of these individuals unknown should you find them. It would save me an awkward conversation or two. 

Do not be afraid to comment on these poems, ask questions, etcetera. I publish these poems to destroy the stigma surrounding these themes. I don't want you to be afraid to ask questions. Ever.
