"Cap!" Clint pressed his hand to comms as he ran through the range of fire with the glove in hand. "What do you want me to do with this damn thing?"

"Get those stones as far away as possible!"

"No!" Bruce argued from his own position in the battle field. "We need to get 'em back where they came from."

"No way to get 'em back," Tony debated. "Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel."

"Hold on." Scott's voice came through comms. He pressed on the button of his suit to shrink back into his natural height. "That wasn't our only time machine."

In the distance, (Y/N) heard a car honk play an instrumental tone of La Cucaracha. Her mind instantly clicked on what Scott was referring to, remembering the van he claimed belonged to one of his oldest friends and was the first quantum tunnel they had used.

"Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?"

"Yes!" Valkyrie yelled out, high above in her pegasus. "But you're not gonna like where it's parked!"

"Scott, how long you need to get that started?" (Y/N) asked, offering to buy him as much time as he needed to if necessary.

"Uh, maybe 10 minutes."

"Get it started," Steve commanded. "We'll get the stones to you."

"We're on it, Cap."

(Y/N) flew and twirled in the air to dodge the blasts that the Chitauri fired at her. She kept an eye on Clint from above to see if he needed any help or if he still had the glove in his hold. She saw how he was knocked up his feet by an explosion, but he quickly handed the glove to T'Challa in order to remove the burden off him.

She blasted at the Leviathan and tried to fight off the remaining members of the Black Order, having Pepper's help in the process. It had been a while since they had been in a scenario like this, but (Y/N) had forgotten how easily they worked together. Pepper fired at an enemy spaceship with her lasers as (Y/N) distracted them. It was an efficient fighting style.

Suddenly, the ship above them aimed their cannons down at the ground and several blasts were fired from it. It was a rain of laser blasts showering all over them, even harming and costing the lives of their own troops in the process. (Y/N) didn't want to set down on the ground since she thought that would make her an easier target to the blasts, and she watched how the sorcerers created orange force shields above their heads to protect themselves from the blasts.

"Uh, is anyone else seeing this?" Pepper's voice rang with a hint of alarm.

The barrier withholding the river was destroyed with the rain of blasts, making the water cascade down the rocks and threatening to cover the entire battlefield. Stephen Strange was the closest to the river, so he stepped in front of the water and held his hands up to push it back. He created a whirlpool with the rapid water, lifting up so to prevent it from escaping his spell.

"Okay, that ship is really pissing me off," (Y/N) muttered under her breath.

She figured the blasts had to stop at some point, but they wouldn't stop unless she did it herself. (Y/N) pushed herself higher in the air, flying straight toward the enormous ship as she deflected the blasts that still rained down. She got closer enough to see the cannons where the blasts came out of, doing a full turn around the ship to draw the attention away from the ground. It worked, and the cannon's attention was now focused on targeting her as she kept flying around it to confuse its targeting system.

Once she figured it was the right time, (Y/N) braced herself for the impact before punching a hole in the ship, wrecking that half of the ship with a loud explosion. Everyone from below saw (Y/N)'s trail of light disappear inside of the ship, so they didn't figure out why the remaining, working cannons directed their attention to something they couldn't see in between the clouds.

"What the hell is this?" Sam yelled out.

"FRIDAY, what are they firing at?" Tony asked his AI, eyes trained on the ship.

"Something just entered the upper atmosphere."

A streak of light identical to the one they just saw flew out of the clouds and headed directly toward the ship without letting the cannons stop it. Everyone flinched from their spots as they saw how more explosions boomed on the ship, from the inside and from the streak of light that just collided with it. The cannons powered down and stopped functioning, and that's when they spotted the outline of Carol and (Y/N) flying out of the destroyed craft.

"Oh, yeah!" Rocket cheered from his spot.

The light enveloping their figures didn't die out as they broke through the craft again, this time from the lower level to the highest. (Y/N) and Carol flew out to see the damage they had done, just in time to see how the ship began losing altitude. It descended onto the other side of the river, creating a wave when it hit the water. No one could see it, but the smile on Thanos's face immediately dropped.

"You took your time," (Y/N) said to her friend still in midair.

"I'm here now, aren't I?" Carol retorted with a smile. "So, what's the play?"

(Y/N) explained the plan in short details since they were short on time. Her eyes skimmed through the battlefield in search of the glove and once she found it, both her and Carol flew downward toward the person who had it in their hold. They landed on the ground with a short thud to find Peter gripping the gauntlet like his life depended on it.

"Hi, I'm Peter Parker," he didn't move a muscle, though a smile came through his lips.

"Hey, Peter Parker," Carol greeted with her usual playful tone. "You got something for us?"

He stood up from the ground with a grunt. He still held onto the glove, but (Y/N)'s eyes were focused on the trail of dried blood down his nose.

Peter saw the upcoming fleet of aliens charging in their direction, obviously coming for the gauntlet. "I don't know how you're gonna get it through all of that."

"Don't worry," Wanda's voice came in as she landed right behind them.

Okoye stumped her spear against the ground harshly. "She's got help."

Valkyrie lowered her and her pegasus down on the ground to join them. Pepper landed with a hard thud in front of them, eyes set on the upcoming army. Peter handed the gauntlet to Carol, who hooked it underneath her arm. Shuri reloaded her own laser guns and (Y/N) exchanged a firm nod with her as they walked. Hope returned to her original size in between the women, adjusting the cuffs of her suit in the process. Gamora, Nebula and Mantis approached them from the sides with their respective weapons in hand.

The Leviathan and Chitauri creatures growled as they charged at them, but they weren't able to do much damage. Pepper fired a blast at the aliens while Wanda took the air in the other direction. She held up her hands in the air to stop the Leviathan from moving, allowing Valkyrie to fly through them and slay them with her sword. Meanwhile, Carol flew in between the battle and explosions with the gauntlet in her hands, having (Y/N) cover her back from the attackers.

Carol saw the van with the quantum tunnel up ahead, but (Y/N) saw Thanos a few feet away, bracing himself to charge at them. She did a backflip in midair to redirect her attention on him, firing a blast just as Pepper, Shuri and Hope created their own to make more damage. The blast made Thanos roll on the ground and (Y/N) flew toward him to hold him off while Carol got closer to the van. She pushed the titan back a few feet away, but he had already tossed his blade in direction of the quantum tunnel.

The sword successfully collided with the tunnel, erupting a powerful explosion that knocked everyone back, including (Y/N). Thanos destroyed the last chance to get rid of the stones before he got them, so what was next?
