"Well, you were right to be suspicious. Davina's hiding something in that attic. The door was locked with a rather complex spell." Alec spoke, walking beside Esther was took over the body of a harvest girl named, Cassie. Finn Mikaelson was with them, on the other side of Cassie in the body of a powerful witch known as Vincent Griffith. Kaleb caught up with them, taking place near Alec as they walked the cemetery.
"Could be a weapon, source of power. I'd preferย not to leave anything to chance. Better we know what she has and whose side she's on. So, you'll take her to dinner." Cassie says. "I just stood her up for coffee. She probably hates me by now," Alec replies. Kaleb smirks, nudging the man, "wouldn't be the first." Finn turns to face the man who was siblings with his old best friend. "Just do as you're told, Anthony."
Alec scoffs, he never was fond of Finn. They all turn a corner, Kaleb smirks, hoping for Alec to get into it with Finn. "Of course, Finn the sycophant speaks up. You gonna grovel at your mother's heels for eternity, or what? Ya know, I never understood how Candy tolerated you." Kaleb chuckles as the two men glare at each other. "Stop it, both of you. There's enough conflict to come." Cassie says.
They stopped in their tracks, facing the pack of wolves who were currently there for moonlight rings. Kaleb overlooks them. "Look at this pack of freeloaders."
"Nonsense. These are our friends. Wolves in need of a gift only I can provide. Moonlight rings." Cassie led the three into an area that revealed a ton of witches making the rings. "The witches have been working day and night. Soon we will have enough rings for an army. And when we do, we will pay your brother's and Ms. Parker a visit." Cassie picks up a stone from the bowel. "And we will teach them the unfortunate error of their vampire ways."
Kol and Anthony both share a look, not sure they're ready to let that happen. Esther wasn't admitting it, but she had other plans for Candice. Cassie clears her throat, turning to Kaleb. "Speaking of Candice, where did she take you today?" Alec glances at Kaleb, remembering how earlier that day he had felt Candice trying to channel him. Unfortunately, he had to ignore her calls.
Kaleb knew Cassie would find out from Chelsea so he needed to be the one to tell her. "If you must know, she took me to her mother's grave. As you already know, her mother was influencing her magic. So she dug up her remains and performed a spell to take Chelsea's magic and break the link. She needed to siphon me so I let her, and in return she replaced the magic she took with her mother's."
Cassie inhaled, clearly not too fond of this information. "Well, that doesn't work out in our favor if she has Chelsea's magic. We need something to weaken her." Cassie walked towards a box and pulled out a necklace that held the original Parker coven crest, she smiles and sets it in Kaleb's hands. "Take her out to dinner tonight, and give her this. When she puts it on, it will link you to her, so you will be able to influence her. I am trusting you with this, Kol. Do not let me down." Cassie stated in a warning tone at the last sentence.
Kaleb clears his throat, holding onto the necklace. "Got it. Won't let you down, mother."

"I could be performing the world's greatest locator spell and yet, I'm here joining you for dinner? Such convenient timing. I would think you did this on purpose." Candice smirks, walking towards the booth he sat at. Kaleb matches her smirk, holding his hand over his chest. "Me? Oh, never. Hasn't anybody ever told you, you're a bit paranoid?" Candice chuckles, taking a seat across him. "Not to my face. Why? Have you heard anything?"
"Not yet. Mm, before we get started, I have something to give you." Candice raised a brow as he pulled out a velvet box, clearly containing a necklace. "I noticed your love language was jewelry. And you're always wearing pieces from centuries ago. So, I got you something that I think you'd be quite fond of." Kaleb opened the box, revealing the necklace that had a crest in the middle. Candice inhaled sharply, taking the necklace out to examine it. "This my original coven' crest. I haven't seen this version in a thousand years. How did you get this?"
Kaleb scratches the back of his neck awkwardly, "would you believe it's a family heirloom?"
Candice raised a brow, shaking her head. "No, because that would make me your ancestor and you wouldn't be flirting with me if that was the case." Kaleb cringes, getting a small laugh from the girl. He glanced over to see Alec on his date with Davina and a thought came to mind. "Uh, okay, I got it from a friend who was apart of the coven. It was a family heirloom that passed down from centuries. When they tried to destroy it, he kept it for himself. I got ahold of it when he died. He was a twin."
Candice's expression fell at the last part when she heard he was a twin. She sighed, shaking her head in disappointment. "The merging of two twins. I always hated that rule. My mother was the one to enforce it. I tried to overrule it, but they banished me when I refused to merge with my brother. Though, I'm sure you've been told it's because I tried to kill everyone." Kaleb looks down, feeling bad that he mentioned the twin part as he knew it was always a sensitive topic for her.
She chuckles lightly before clearing her throat, aiming to change the drastic subject. "Do you mind?" She gestures to the necklace and he nods quickly, taking it from her hands. Candice stood up, pulling her hair out of the way as he pulls the necklace around her. Kaleb took her hair to pull it back, she tensed for a slight second, feeling his breath on her neck. Candice turned around, smiling softly, "thank you, for this. It means a lot, my coven meant the world to me once upon a time."
As she sat back down, he couldn't help but feel immense guilt over the fact that this necklace was only to link them. Kaleb sat down as a waitress made their way over with menus. "Can I start you on drinks?" Candice pursed her lips, she never really drunk anything other than blood, and sometimes a little bit of alcohol. Kaleb noticed her hesitance and was quick to save her the embarrassment. "We'll just have your finest bottle of wine."
Candice smiles and nods as the waitress leaves, the woman taking one last chance to smile at Kaleb before leaving. Candice snickers as she looks down at the menu, not that human food was even appealing anymore. "That waitress seems to like what she's looking at." Kaleb shares a snicker, glancing up from the menu to look at her. "Why look at her when I've got someone a million times as gorgeous sitting across from me?"
Candice intertwines her hands together as a smile grazes the corners her lips. "Flattery will get you no where, darling. I'm still spoken for, that's not changing, not even for you." Kaleb chuckles, leaning back in his seat. "If you're so spoken for, then why are on a date with me?" Candice scoffs in amusement, raising her brows at him for a second. "So, is that what this is? A date?"
Kaleb nods as if it was obvious, and it definitely was. "Yikes, love. How long have you been out of the dating game?" Candice was quick with her reply. "Close to a thousand years, give or take." The waitress comes over, pausing their conversation as she sets down two glasses and pours the wine into each glass. Candice adds in once the girl went away. "We didn't exactly do dates back in our time. If we were courting someone, we just were. There was no building up to it. We just did."
Kaleb nods slowly, leaning forward. "And were you? Courting someone?"
Candice looks down, thinking of Kol again. "Yes, I was. Courting never sounded very romantic, but it was, for me anyhow. He was...he was my world. He is my world. To others, he didn't seem like the romantic, but behind closed doors, he was to me. And, I would do anything to get him back. To feel him again." Candice said. She didn't know why she was talking about Kol to this person but there was something so oddly comforting that made her want to tell him everything.
Kaleb just wished he could tell her everything, now more than ever. Seeing the pain in her eyes not knowing she was talking to her Kol. "What happened to him? If you're comfortable sharing, of course." Candice pursed her lips, contemplating on sharing until she just said screw it. It couldn't hurt. "I uh, got him killed. My anger, and impulse, got him killed. I am the reason he is dead. And everyday, I wake up and look myself in the mirror and all I can see is the person who got the love of her life killed. Now, is that really the person you want to pursue?"
To say he was shocked by her answer was an understatement. He didn't expect Candice to blame herself for something she absolutely had no part of. "We've all gotten someone killed, darling. Doesn't make us any less worthy of love. I'm sure whoever this mystery man is, he doesn't blame you." Candice shook her head, refusing to believe his words even if he was right. "That doesn't matter, I still blame myself."
"Actually it does. If you know deep down that he does not at all blame you, then you should listen to that and not blame yourself. After all, how could he blame someone as beautiful as you? Hell, if I was to be killed I'd want it to be by you." Candice laughs lightly, he smiled, happyย he was able to make her laugh. And God did he love seeing her smile. It was a smile that could bring warmth to anyone no matter the situation. The waitress comes back over, "are you ready to order?"
Kaleb notices the distaste on Candice's face, seeing she wasn't exactly fond of food at the moment. "Actually, we're alright here. We already ate." Kaleb passes the menu's back and the woman leaves. Candice smiles gratefully. "You know, you remind me a lot of him. Your charm, your mannerisms, the way you speak. It's almost like he's possessing you." Candice smirks and Kaleb chuckles, hoping she wasn't onto him but it was hard to tell. "I'm flattered, but that's quite impossible, unless he was a witch. Otherwise that would be quite possible."
She shrugs. "That's quite true. Lucky for you, he was a vampire." Candice cleared her throat, deciding to switch topics. "So, tell me. Do you have any normal family around?" Kaleb takes a sip of his drink and sets it down. "My family? No. They're all crazy as loons." Candice chuckles in amusement, finding that quite similar to her own. "What about your family? Got anyone normal?"
Candice pursed her lips, thinking of an answer. "Not really. I had a brother, but he died when my exes mother put a curse on him. Father died when I was young, which you already know. But he was a lot better that my mum, that's for sure." Kaleb hums in acknowledgement, fiddling with his glass. "Mommy issues, eh? Bet she's a control freak, right?" Candice gives him a look and he slightly nods, "yeah, same as mine. She's the reason I stopped practicing magic for so long."
"Really? Mine is the reason I practiced even more. She was one of the most powerful witches to live, right behind the original witch. I aspired to become better than her. And now, thanks to your help, I am." She said, taking a sip of the wine as he smiled in response.
"Attention everyone! We're closing for a private party, so please make your way out!" A man announced loudly to everyone in the bar. Candice raised a brow, feeling something was definitely off. She stood up slowly, looking around and noticing all the werewolves left in the bar. A young girl called out a name as she noticed everyone leaving. "Alec? What's happening?"
"Some fellow just announced they were closing for a private party," Alec said to the girl known as Davina Claire. "We should leave now." Candice noticed her urgency and hummed, looking towards Kaleb. "I want you to leave. Something's going down, I can smell mutts everywhere." Kaleb shook his head, "I'm not leavin' without you."
"Get out of our way, now." Davina throws out her hand giving an aneurysm to the werewolf who approached her, clearly trying to provoke her. Candice stands near Kaleb, waiting to see when it was the right time to step in. Alec puts an arm on Davina, backing her up as more wolves approached, "can you do that with the rest of them?"
She shook her head. "Not all at once." The werewolf shoved Davina down, Alec goes to step in but is easily thrown over the bar into all the glass. "Get behind the bar and stay out of sight. I've got this," Candice says towards Kaleb, pushing him towards the bar. He does as told, helping Anthony out in the process, the man having a large cut above his eyebrow.
"Alright, that's about enough of you lot." Candice steps in front of the young witch. "I'm going to give you all a chance to leave before this gets messy." She looks around, seeing them all stay in place, glaring at her with yellow eyes. "No takers? Fine by me. All the more fun." Candice threw out her hand, throwing four of them into the wall and ripping out another one's heart. As she was occupied with them, another one grabbed Davina, aiming to bite her neck until someone threw him off and into the others who were on Candice.
It was Mikael. "You filthy dogs." Candice looked up in shock, she wasn't given much change to react until a werewolf grabbed her, biting into her neck and throwing her into a table. She groaned, "well that's a first." Candice quickly recovered, killing a few more as Mikael finishes off the rest, unfortunately she was bit a few more times in the process. He kills the last one that had grabbed Davina. He sees the bracelet no longer on the witch. "Well, now, what an interesting turn of events."
As he steps towards Davina, his body freezes. Candice stands to her feet slowly, turning him around. "Nice to properly meet you, Mikael. We're sort of family. I'm sure you've heard of me." He glared at her as she pinned him to the wall with magic. "As yes, Candice Parkerson. The woman my son so stupidly fell in love with." Candice smirks, waving her fingers, she breaks his arm, causing him to shout in pain.
"Sorry, it has to be this way. But you've been a pain in my ass for a thousand years. I don't know how you're back, and I don't care. You're going back to hell where you came from." Candice chanted, shaking her hands as she walked closer. He screams, feeling the spell slowly crawl up his skin, veins beginning to travel up his neck. Davina's eyes widen, she throws out her hand, "No!" Davina manages to throw Candice over the bar.
Mikael groaned, dropping back to his feet. Candice quickly recovered, jumping back over only for Mikael to grab her, reaching his hand into her chest, she cried using her magic to try and stop him. "You protect my son like a coward. You're an abomination just like him." Candice groaned, feeling his hand reach deeper. "You sound like my wretched mother! The only abomination is you! So filled with hatred for your son, you cannot see how truly amazing he is. He's twice and more the man you are! All of your children are incredible!"
Mikael grabs onto her heart, she groaned, grabbing his wrist. "I'm going to enjoy this girl."
Elijah speeds inside, throwing the man into the wall, he's quick to recover. Candice huffs, holding onto her chest as she collapses onto the floor. Elijah stares at the man in shock, having believed him to be dead. "Father?" Mikael faces his son, though it wasn't the one he was hoping to see first. "Hello, son. I'd hoped to see your brother first, but we have some unfinished business as well." Mikael is able to push Elijah against the bar, aiming to stake him with the white oak but Elijah held him back.
Marcel speeds in, grabbing Davina in aims to take her away. "We're getting out of here." She was quick to stop him. "No, Marcel. I need my bracelet. I can use it to control him." Marcel notices Mikael is close to killing Elijah so he grabs the bracelet and tosses it to Davina. Mikael noticed and sped towards her, she throws out her hand with the bracelet. "Stop. Go back now." Mikael groans, speeding away. Davina looks to Marcel before walking away with a scoff.
Candice stands up, breathing heavily, "I'm going to murder that wretched little witch!" Marcel grabs her arm, stopping her from going any further. "Take a breath and relax!" Marcel said, she looked back at him and sighed. Candice inhaled, suddenly beginning to feel all the werewolf bites starting to kick in. Her eyes roll back and Marcel catches her before she's able to hit the floor. "We should get her to Klaus." Elijah nods in agreement as Marcel picks up the girl bridal style.
Elijah notices the two men behind the bar who had witnessed everything. "Something to say?" He asks, basically wanting to see if they were going to spill their mouths about what just occurred. Kaleb and Alec both shook their head. "Not me, mate. Not a bloody thing." Kaleb said, Alec nodded in agreement. "Lips are sealed, lads."
Elijah nods, turning back to Marcel. "Take her to Kol's room. I'll bring the blood. I imagine she will need someone to calm her down. You two were once close. Calm her down. I'll deliver the news to Niklaus." Marcel nods before speeding away with Candice. He sets the heretic on the bed, taking a deep breath. Once upon a time, he saw Candice as a mother figure to him. She had accepted him with open arms unlike her lover Kol. She even used to fight with Kol to defend Marcel.
"You're staring at me like I died." Candice mumbled, sweating dripping from her head. Blood was splattered all over her like red paint on a canvas, courtesy of the wolves. Marcel sighs, looking down at her as he pulled up a chair to sit. "Because you did, at least that's what I heard before you disappeared. Before you left me." Candice goes to sit up, groaning as she did. Marcel was quick to place some pillows behind her so she could be more comfortable.
"If we're being technical, it wasn't my choice to leave you. Believe me, I would have never left you, but you had to believe I died in order to protect you. Had my mother found out I had someone I see as a son, she would've killed you." Candice chuckles lowly, taking another breath to compose herself. Marcel looked down, he believed her, but that didn't make it hurt any less. "Then why didn't you come back?"
"Because I believed you to be dead. Trust me, when Niklaus revealed you were alive, I didn't believe him. I actually planned to see you today." Candice smiled softly, taking his hand in hers. "What stopped you?" He asked. "Oh you know, just the Mikaelsons needing my help, yet again." She chuckles softly, he nodding, sharing a soft laugh. Elijah clears his throat as he steps inside holding a glass of Klaus's blood. "Am I interrupting something?"
"Just some mother and son bonding, nothing much." Candice shrugs as Marcel helps the woman sit up more, she takes the glass from Elijah's hand. Candice drinks the blood with a grimace, Marcel takes the glass and sets it on the nightstand. "I never did like the taste of Nik's blood. Kol's tasted far more delightful." She giggles, the bites beginning to heal. Marcel cringed, "and she's back. I like you more when you're dying, no offense."
Candice smirks, "it was nice while it lasted, son." She clears her throat, standing to her feet and walking towards her coffee table. "Now, if you two are no longer in need of my services. I have someone I need to go see." Elijah nods, seeing as he needed to speak with Hayley, he exits. Marcel stays behind, wondering if she was going to try and track down Davina. She couldn't blame him for being worried, she could be quite impulsive at times. "And who might that be?"
"If you must know, it's a...boy." Candice admits, gesturing for him to leave before he tries to tease her. "I'll leave, don't worry. Have fun on your date or whatever this is," Marcel smirks, walking towards the door. But really, he was glad that she was moving on. As much as he knew she loved Kol, he also knew that Kol didn't deserve her. And he'd die believing that.
Candice groans, throwing her heel at him but he dodges it. "Good riddance!"

"What the bloody hell was that? Huh?" Alec grabs onto Vincent's jacket and harshly pushes him against the wall as Kaleb sat on the table, not about to get in-between this. "You need to calm down now," Vincent says, looking over at Kaleb who shrugged before glancing down at his phone, going back to texting Candice. "Those wolves didn't just go after Davina, they almost attacked me. And they very well did attack my sister!"ย Cassie entered the room, hearing him. "I'm aware. I gave the order."
Alec looked back at her and shoved Vincent once more before turning to face Cassie. "The attack had to look convincing. And it's not like they could actually kill Candice, she can handle it." Alec scoffs, gesturing to the large cut above his eyebrow. "Look at my head! This isn't gonna heal for weeks! I haven't haven't had a scar in a thousand years!" Kaleb hums, "that's unfortunate," he mumbled under his breath sarcastically.
Cassie was unfazed by his anger. "You'll live. And more importantly, Davina will feel indebted to you. She will seek you out to apologize for what she perceives as an attack she caused, as I planned." Cassie explains. Alec glances over at Vincent and back to Cassie, sick of all this planning when it was putting his sister in danger. "Well, I've had enough of your plans. You forced me into this body without my consent!" Kaleb stood up, deciding to stand with Alec seeing as this plan almost had Candice killed.
"I agree with Anthony. You stick us in these bodies. You force me to sneak around and lie to my girlfriend, and for him to lie to his sister! If this is the grand new life you've planned for me, then you can have it back!" Cassie throws her hand out, bringing the two boys to their knees. "You are here by my grace." Blood drips from their noses as she withholds with magic. "And you will remain here by my grace. Have I made myself clear?"
"Yes." Kaleb spills out. Cassie releases the holds and Alec stood up, taking a breath as Kaleb stayed on the floor, regaining his strength. Alec had been used to these spells, seeing as him and Esther didn't see eye to eye when she first put him in this body. Cassie leans down, caressing her son's face. "Your brother was in the attic during the attack. Finn, tell them what you saw."
"The door was open. The room was empty." Vincent stated.
Cassie slowly stood to her feet, turning to face Alec. "So how did Davina tear apart a pack of vicious wolves? She must have had this weapon with her. What is it? A dark object? A book of spells?" Alec didn't hesitate with his response. "Well, I wish I knew. I was knocked out during the attack. I never saw a thing." Cassie inhales, turning to look at Kaleb. "Kol? What did you see?"
"I didn't see anything. Candice made me leave. For all we know, Candice could've killed them all herself. After all, she can handle it, right?" Kaleb stood back up, brushing himself off as he shared a look with Alec. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to go spy on my very guilt driven girlfriend who still thinks I'm dead." Kaleb walked out, Alec clears his throat, checking his phone. "And I'll work on finding Davina before Candice gets her hands on her."
"Good. We can't have that, can we?"
