FLASHBACK - Tina and her gang challenged Emily to stay a night in a house which is said to be haunted.. Now we need to see what happens. Is the house really haunted? }

The warm sunlight woke me up and my growling stomach made me eat my breakfast which was a delicious banana. My mum said she is going to drop George at my grandparent's place and me to school. She was alot better...which made me happy.. But still i didn't get my answer to the questions... I didn't ask though, as i didn't want to ruin her mood.

At school nothing happened special. Just when I was about to leave , Tina came and asked “So, Emily.... are you ready to stay the night at the The Old White House or are you going to step back from the challenge like 'L O O S E R' ?"

"Oh Tina..don't worry.. I don't step back from what i promise.. Oh how will you know.. You toh have an habit of breaking promises.. Don't you?" I said without turning back and left for home.

Asking mom to give me the permission for a night was suprisingly easy as I sometimes spend the night with my best friend Anna for studies . I was kind of feeling guilty for lying to mom but I had to get myself ready by remembering the challenge.

My best friend Anna knew who wanted to come with me. “You never know Emily! You don't expect mistry.. But it comes to you.. So you should have a professional with you and anyways... I would love yo talk with the ghosts...so will you take me with you? Pretty please?? ” Obviously i didn't let my detective oriented best friend to come with me. The challenge was to stay alone not with a talkative detective.

I packed my bag  with some snacks for midnight cravings , water bottle, mat and my phone. I also took Mia with me cause a little life was needed for this adventure.

When I reached the end of the street I could see the Old white house. It was looking so spooky. As it was decided, Tina and her gang arrived soon.

" So, Emily are you ready to spend a night with ghosts?" Tina asked.
I nodded my head while smirking. The girls fitted a camera in my shirt and hid another camera in the gate of the house. “ if you cheat we can see so don't even think of it" Tina said.

Those rich spoiled brats! They thought I will cheat, so they ordered cameras.... They think money grows in tree..
" No Tina ...I won't cheat as I know I'm not a looser ..though i don't know why i'm doing this to prove but still... Here you go..... You don't worry. You can sleep peacefully with your 'mummy's lap' ”  I  mocked her . After the left, I stepped inside, I heard the doors slamm behind me.

And from the window I heard those girls laughing loudly.  "Huhhh!!! Those girls are so mean. Pushed the door... And thought i will get scared... Imbeciles” I muttered while walking slowly and investigating the place. The inside of the house was more spooky than the outside. I was walking.. when I found something under my shoes.
I leaned down to see , a burnt cigarette. I was shocked.. I could understand the cigarettes was used recently like last night. I wondered how can this possibly come here.... Nobody enters this house.

This was the moment when i got scared... My heart was racing faster than the speed of Rajdhani..

I climbed the stairs.

There were spider webs and mouse all around. Mia leaped from the basket and killed a mouse... It was so disgusting...
"Mia! What did you do? Now you are dirty. " I picked Mia and cleaned her with water from my bottle and my handkerchief.

"Mia already everyone says there are ghosts in this house and now you killed a mouse, now this mouse's ghost will scare us" I said trying to crack a joke and but it did not make me feel better. I went upstairs and was overwhelmed by seeing the spacious room.

I  sat on my mat and was watching my favorite cartoon show in my phone when I noticed it was 3pm. I stood up and saw Mia was already asleep, I was going to lie down and sleep when suddenly I heard someone opening the main gate. I could hear my heartbeat racing.
I heard two men or ghosts god knows walking downstairs clearly . I  heard carefully.

I could figure out that the men were discussing about something. I listened carefully and they were saying something like this :

" Listen let's first burry this suitcase here. This contains all the money which we robbed. "

"Yeah you are right! Today was a great day. Tomorrow his family will find out that he is no more he is dead and the money. Haha"

"Yeah Yeah! But first burry this... "

"Yeah. This house is so lucky for us. Everyone thinks we are ghosts . But we are the famous robbers and murderers whom the police are looking for. Haha haha "

After listening this I was shocked . My face became pale as ghost. I had to do something. The police have to catch these criminals. If they don't they probably will find me dead next morning.

I took my phone silently and called the police and whispered " hello police uncle, please come at the Old white house. Please! Two criminals are here and I'm stuck here. Please come quick or they will find me. " by saying this I cut the call as I couldn't take the risk of being caught. I switched off my phone .  Those twenty minutes were dangerous twenty minutes of my life. My life was depended on the police and luck.  i heard faint police siren. The police came and rescued me and  they found the criminals.There were proves too as everything was recorded in the cameras which the girls installed.

"You showed your bravery little girl...
We were looking for  these criminals for so many years. But how did you get here?" asked the police officer .

I said everything to him. "You did it wrong but you really showed your bravery so I will not scold you " said the officer.

I was sent home and I kept on thinking what will happen now. What will happen when mum will find out.... Of course she will be livid!

I knew hell is waiting for me and that's gonna be really bad. Really bad.

I

was sitting in the black seat of police van and having thoughts of living in forest but before I realised, the iron gate popped in front of my eyes....and came a female shadow.... Mum.

I knew my mom knew the whole thing as the police informed her. I could see her standing near the gate. I could see her livid face.

Believe me.
I could.
