"We've been walking for hours, I'm tired can we take a break," Rafe whined
"Did you forget that we're on a chase?"
"Mak carried me on his back while you guys were running kilometers! I'm sure they're gone!" Rafe whined annoyingly again
"Oh shut up." Malachi rolled his eyes.
"Shut up freak."
Malachi blew raspberries at Rafe like he was a child. "Can you please act your age brother," Mak said annoyingly
"Now Marcie, Where is this witch? And what the hell is her name- you haven't even told us yet."
"Her name is Lilith Warren, her house is on a bayou," Marcie replied
"A bayou?" Rafe said tensing up
"Isn't there alligators in the lake? Why the hell is her house on a Bayou it's giving horror movie vibes." Rafe rambled.
"Just stay behind and chill please, and stay away from the water because we don't want no one falling in." Marcie winked her eye at Rafe from the last sentence.
"You don't get to tell me twice."
"It's down this ramp, everyone," she said
Marcie, Mak, Malachi, Marcus, Milo, and Rafe are walking down a ramp in the darkness towards a dark and eerie-looking house that stands on the shoreline of a bayou close to a lake. The air is still and moist, and the smell of rotting vegetation fills the air. The house is surrounded by overgrown vegetation and is covered in ivy, which climbs up its sides like tendrils. Long wooden stairs ascend the side of the house to a large wooden gate set in an old wrought-iron fence, and the whole structure has a dilapidated look that adds to its mystifying and ominous aura.
"Oh hell nah," Rafe said trying to walk away.
Milo grabbed him by his shirt, "You are with five vampires you'll be alright." He sighs.
"The house looks old, how do you know someone is still living in there," Rafe asks
"We can hear a heartbeat from a far distance," Milo said
"Just like we can hear yours." Malachi grinned at the male.
Rafe scrunched his face in disgust and walked towards Marcie who was leading the way.
"And you're sure this witch will help us bring back my sister?" Rafe asks
"I'm sure she will,"
Rafe smiles at her response feeling secure.
"There's someone here," Marcie says
As everyone steps inside the house through the old wrought-iron gate, they are met with an eerie scene. In the center of the room, everyone is surprised by its opulent interior. Compared to the run-down exterior, the interior is a dramatic contrast, with ornate gold fixtures, elegant paintings and sculptures, and bright-burning candles, creating a rich and glamorous atmosphere. The walls of the house have been completely transformed, and the dilapidation of the outside is nowhere to be found.
As the group takes in the glamour and beauty of its interior, Rafe hangs behind Mak, looking nervous and unsettled by the eerie atmosphere of the house. Marcie and Marcus take their time staring and looking at the paintings, trying to make sense of the opulent and luxurious feel of the place. Milo and Malachi also seem to be taken aback, and Mak is the only one who seems unfazed and unbothered by the strange nature of the place.
"Do you ever put a smile on your face you can't even lie, this is awesome," Marcie says out loud.
"I've seen better."
Marcie rolled her eyes chuckling as she touched the painting.
"Don't touch that!" an unfamiliar woman yelled
An African American woman with a curly afro in a black ruffle dress steps down the stairs in front of the group and walks towards them, catching everyone's attention. The woman's demeanor is commanding and confident, as they all stare at her sharply and anxiously.
The woman looked like she was in her 30s-40s. Her facial expressions also said otherwise- She didn't look too happy with all of us being here.
Marcie and Marcus stood back with everyone else who all had their attention on the woman.
She glares at every one of us with mean eyes, "You Vampires!" she yells.
"Were good vampires!?" Marcie looked at her brothers for usefulness.
"Yeah, sure!" Malachi smiles
"Yes, good vampires." Marcus grins
"I'm a human!" Rafe randomly blurted from behind Mak.
Mak pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration and annoyance, "Quiet!!" She yelled
"You've creatures trespassed my home!-Why?"
"Are you here to hurt me!?" she begins to lift her hands.
"No no no!" Marcie reassured the woman before she could use her magic.
"I knew she wasn't going to be help," Marcus whispers
"Shh." Marcie hushed her brother.
"Lilith Warren right?"
The woman looks slightly shocked and interested by the name called.
"Wrong." She says
"What?"
"Lilith is my mother, she died a month ago from old age."
Marcie is taken aback by the news, as she was familiar with Lilith previously. The witch continues to speak as she walks past Marcie and addresses the entire group, "I'm Luna, Luna Warren."
"Nice to meet you-
"Cut the crap, you vampires are deadly and dangerous- the only time you guys come to a witch is to just kill or ask for things, What do y'all want from me?!"
"And why the hell do you have a ten-year-old child here."
"I'm fucking fifteen-
Marcus clears his throat interrupting Rafe.
"We're here for a valid reason, we're not killers." Malachi barges in
"Interesting." Rafe mumbles
"Shut up before I give you a wedgie," Malachi whispered in Rafe's ear.
Mak rolled his eyes at his sibling's Lack of behavior that was happening, "My Rhea, My sweet Rhea is gone."
"Who?"
"Let him finish," Marcie says
"My apologies, Carry on."
Mak cleared his throat before speaking again, "Rhea is Rafe's sister," he pointed at the little boy.
The witch nods her head as they continue. "She died by saving all of us."
"Well, I'm Sorry for you're lost."
"The thing is-she doesn't have to be a 'lost' if you can help us bring her back," Malachi said
The witch stared blankly before laughing, "You guys want me," ( she laughs again) "To help you guys? To bring back a human girl to life-For y'all?" She finally said
"I know it seems crazy for us to ask, you're own enemy asking-but this is important- not just for my brothers but for him." Marcie stared at Rafe.
The witch goggles Rafe from a distance, "He lost his only sibling, Rhea didn't deserve to die- she was only eighteen, She still hasn't had a chance to live yet."
"I'm sorry but death is Life it happens."
"Her death was not supposed to happen!" Mak yelled angrily as his fist clutched.
"Rafe helped me out of a cell that I was trapped in for centuries, I owed him."
"Don't make promises that you can't keep," Luna replies
"Are you fucking serious?" Marcie glares.
"I knew we shouldn't of fucking come here," Mak says rushing out the door.
Rafe speaks up once again, this time in a softer and more pleading tone. He says, "Please...We are desperate for your help. If you can bring Rhea back to us, we will be eternally grateful."
"Please help us bring my sister back, I miss her every day."
"We'll do anything."
"Come on Rafe!" Mak yelled from the outside
The witch's eyes tell a story of inner turmoil and conflicting emotions. Rafe's words have struck a chord in her, and she can feel the remorse and guilt heaving in her heart, but she is also aware of the difficulty and dangers of the task she is being asked to undertake.
"I don't trust them, kid."
"Then trust me."
