Chapter 11
Disha's PoV
Shubman saw me, we'd held eye contact for a moment. He glanced at Rishabh and inhaled to say something, my heart dropped. He cast another glance at me and said nothing. In that single gesture, he'd won my trust. Akash Chopra. Someone I'd trusted since practically forever. How come everyone I trusted backstabbed me?
Oh, gods, I've been rude to Rishabh thinking that he-
"Disha?" Rishabh's voice cut through my waterfall of depressing thoughts, "He's gone."
I stood back up, stunned. Did he know?
"I'm sorry," He looked at his feet, shuffling them. "I didn't know how else to prove that he was an asshat other than showing you-"
"It's fine," I mumbled, interjecting. I couldn't bring myself to look at him, a hot wave of shame washed over me as I collected my belongings. Rushing out of the room, but a voice stilled me in my steps.
"Babli!"
I turned around, Rishabh's cheeky smile plastered on his face. "Pani Puri? Like old times."
I thought to myself, why mope over someone who doesn't deserve my tears?
"Sure." I smiled, I had to give Akash a piece of my mind. My phone vibrated in my pocket, it was none other than the asshat himself. He wanted to meet me.
He chose a park as a meeting spot, he flashed me a bright and 'loving' grin as I jogged up to him. My stomach twisted into knots as I sat down beside him. I can do this
"Akash," I forced the name out.
"Hm?" He hummed placing his hand over mine, causing me to flinch. A light frown tugged at his lips, he then began tracing circles on my palm with his knuckles.
"Do you love me?" The smile faded from his face the moment I asked him the question. Tears brimmed my eyes, I blinked them away and swallowed the heavy lump in my throat.
"Of course I do," He chuckled, cupping my cheek. "What's wrong, Disha? Did Rishabh hurt you?"
This caused me to explode, "Did he hurt me? Rishabh?"
"Your the one that hurt me, you backstabbing asshat." I spat, a few people near us eyeing Akash disapprovingly. He clenched his jaw, his 'public image' seemed to be of more value to him than me. "I don't know what he told you, but don't trust him-" He started once more, my hand flew up and slapped him.
Thack!
The sound echoed slightly, my fingers left an imprint. I noted a few people ready to retaliate in case things went sideways. "I heard everything, asshole."
Akash moved his jaw about before, pulling himself to his full height, towering over me. His grip on my wrists increasing in strength by the second, and hell it hurt. "We're over," I managed to hiss out. He flashed me a cocky smirk, "I get to decide that."
My heartrate increased drastically, thumping against my chest. I felt dizzy. My eyes squeezed shut as a wave of darkness overtook me.
The World Went Black.
