The scene changes to TI DIAMO IL.
The chef was singing his heart out as the twins sat at the table. He doesn't seem to know that he has some customers that need to be served. Vincenzo went through the menu as Vittorio did the same. Vittorio faced his brother who faced the chef.
"You're my sun how beautiful you are~" he sang in Italian.
"You are beautiful. You are handsome" he said in his normal voice while pointing at the fridge that has his reflection on it and continued.
The chef looked very embarrassed.
"I love-" he was cut off by the Cassano brothers who were looking through the menu.
He gasped and stepped back in shock. He looked around nervously and put the broom aside, rushing towards him to take his order and put a water bottle on his table.
"What's your best dish?" Vincenzo asked while his eyes were still on the menu.
"Well, that would be my porcini dish. It's truffle porcini spaghetti." He stuttered.
"Everything on your menu sounds delicious" Vittorio spoke in Italian as the chef looked extremely nervous by the sudden change of language.
"Why are you so nervous, Mr. Toto?" Larry asks him.
"I don't know. It is my future self" Toto stuttered as he replied.
"We'll have that," Vincenzo said as the chef asked 'what?' Vincenzo nodded with a small smile as a reply.
"Si," the chef said and rushed to the kitchen to prepare their dishes.
Soon, two plates of the 'famous' truffle porcini spaghetti arrived at their table. He put down the sauces as Vincenzo 'Wah' in amazement while inhaling the smell and laughed at the chef. The chef nervously laughed with Vincenzo. Vittorio also smelled the dish it was good.
'Maybe the guy really knows how to cook Italian food' He thought.
Both of them rolled the spaghetti using the fork as the chef looked at them nervously. But as soon as the spaghetti was chewed, Vincenzo let out a moan, indicating that the food was good as the chef held out his thumbs and laughed proudly.
The chef was very happy here too.
But his smile vanished as Vincenzo grabbed a tissue, throwing it out. Vittorio did the same. At that time he didn't care whether he is breaking the chef's heart or not, he just wanted that shit out of his mouth. Vincenzo let out an 'egh' and looked at the dish with his eyebrows furrowed. He slightly raised his hand, trying to describe the taste.
The chef here also looked like as if he was about to cry.
"It tastes like you took this out of the trashcan," He said as the chef looked like he was about to cry.
"But I'm glad... That you removed the maggots" Vittorio added.
Some of them chuckled at this.
He threw the tissue to the chef, hitting his chest. Vittorio threw his on the other side. The chef flinched and went down to pick it up.
"So you studied in Uffizi, Milan?" Vincenzo asked while drinking the water from his glass.
"Yes, in Uffizi" the chef muttered Vincenzo nodded and spoke
"I see. But Uffizi is in Florence, not Milan" The chef immediately stuttered again.
"What?"
"You lied!"
"He lied to us!"
The tenants started murmuring to each other. The chef was so close to breaking down.
"W-what? I-"
"A con artist," Vittorio said in Italian, laughing a little before putting the money on the table. He walked out with his older brother.
"He learned to cook at Uffizi Gallery?" Vincenzo said, loud enough for the chef to hear.
The chef started sobbing a little at this.
"I... Excuse me. Come again." The chef says sadly as he looks at Vincenzo and Vittorio who were leaving.
The scene changes. 'CHEONGJU WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION' flashes on the screen. Vincenzo parked the car. Vittorio held his head down.
"It is okay if you don't wanna come. I can-" Vincenzo was speaking but Vittorio cut him in between.
"No, it is okay. I want to see her" The younger Cassano said.
Vincenzo walks out with a briefcase in his hand. Vittorio follows him. Walking towards the entrance, they stopped for a moment and watched the woman who just got released. her parents quickly took care of her saying, "You are out."
Vittorio sighs at the scene.
Vincenzo quietly sighed, pulled his brother's hand, and went back to his car. Vittorio didn't ask his brother any questions because he also knew it was difficult for his brother as it was for him. Maybe, they will meet her next time.
"Probably, next time" Vittorio muttered.
In the meantime, Mr. Hong comes out of the car and walks toward the entrance but doesn't notice Vincenzo and Vittorio.
Mr. Hong and Gyeong-ja were sitting in front of each other separated by glass. Gyeong-ja smiles and speaks.
"The look on your face tells me you are losing again." Mr. Hong smirks listening to this.
"Did you become a psychic? How can you tell?" He asks her who simply chuckles.
Mr. Hong smiled at the scene.
"It's been five years since I first met you. I can tell by just looking at you." She replies.
"Has it been that long? You are being treated, right?" He asks and she nods.
"Thanks to you. To less a burden to you, I shall die soon." She says.
Vittorio didn't notice but a lone tear escaped from his eyes.
"Gosh. Come on. Don't say stuff like that. Hearing that drains my energy." He says in a scolding manner. Gyeong-ja laughs and then, sighs.
"You don't have to visit me every month now. People might think you are my secret husband." Gyeong-ja says.
"You can tell them that I am. It will be nice for Cha-young to have a mom." Mr. Hong says and Gyeong-ja's eyes widened.
Cha-young smiled slightly at this.
"Gosh. Goodness." She then laughs with Mr. Hong. He leans forward a bit.
Mr. Hong smiles at this.
"Anyway, Ms. Oh, for the one last time--" Gyeong-ja cuts Mr. Hong in between.
"Don't even bring up the re-trial. I really don't need it. Just leave me be." She sighs and continues. "I have done a lot of bad things in my life." Mr. Hong leans back.
The Cassano brothers sighed at this.
The scene changes to Geumga Plaza. Vincenzo walked to Mr. Cho who was waiting for him at the entrance.
"Did you guys have a nice trip?"
"Yes," Vittorio answered, wondering why he was here.
"The team leader from Babel's Investment and Development is on his way."
"I'll go and meet him. Where should I see him?" Vincenzo asked as Mr. Cho started to point his index finger at the stores in front of the Plaza. "There's a café across the street."
"How about my office?" Three of them turned around and saw Mr. Hong walking toward them with his tired face. "It concerns our plaza. Wouldn't it be better to do it in my office?"
"Not a bad option though," Vitorio says.
Vincenzo thought for a second and agreed. The four of them walked upstairs and straight to Mr. Hong's office.
The scene changes.
"How many times must I repeat myself? My client will demolish the building and build a new one. And the previous tenants will have their lots back" Vincenzo sighed, explaining it to the Babel team leader for the 3rd time. Vittorio was so close to beating that shit out of him. That man doesn't seem to take things seriously.
"Is he nuts or what?" Vittorio hisses in anger.
Mr. Cho was seated at Vincenzo's right and the Babel team leader was sitting across him. Vittorio was sitting beside the team leader of Babel. Mr. Nam arrived with 4 cups of coffee and served it to them.
"Alright... This is our last offer" he said, scribbling some ink on the paper. "It's so much better to offer from two days ago. It's the best we can do"
The Cassano brothers scoffed at this.
Vincenzo and Vittorio looked deadpan at him. Mr. Cho sighed while trying to keep his friendly face. Looking at the back, Mr. Nam was watching them while Mr. Hong seemed frustrated with the man's reply.
The Babel team leader looked at them for a moment with wide eyes before showing them the contract on their faces. But the three of them didn't budge at all. He showed it to Mr. Cho but he quickly tear his gaze from the contract and dramatically looked outside the window and to the floor.
Cha-young chuckled at this.
He showed it to Vittorio but he gave him a deadpan look.
"Wah," he muttered with amazement in his voice. He put down the contract, sighing.
"Do you not understand us?" Vittorio asked, slightly angered at the man's stubbornness.
"I hear you just fine. You know what? I wanted to wrap things up nicely" he slammed his hand making Mr. Nam flinch and Mr. Hong just looked at them with his usual tired gaze. "If you keep this up, things will get ugly" He threatened them but Vincenzo didn't seem to care at all. "I'm here on behalf of Babel E&C. If you keep rejecting our offer, you'll regret it later"
"Look at him, threatening the mafias"
"Are you threatening me?" Vincenzo asked.
"Just a little?" The man answered with a small smile.
Mr. Cho smiled slightly, he knew that Vincenzo was more powerful than the man. He knew what they'll do in this situation 'this man messed with the wrong people He thought.
"Don't ever threaten us again. It's my first and last advice to you." Vincenzo says.
"He isn't wise enough to keep that in mind," Vittorio says to Vincenzo.
The scene changes to the dance studio. Tenants started coming in.
"No one is here yet?" One of them asked.
"No." Larry answers.
"Did you eat?" She asked him.
"Hey."
"Gosh."
"Hey, do you have more? What is it?"
"Gosh, what?"
Tak came into the studio with his shoes but Larry immediately stops him.
"Mr. Tak, take off your shoes when you come in." He says.
"So, you are a cleanliness freak," Vittorio says.
"Sorry about that. I forgot." He says while removing his shoes.
"You always forget that."
"Sorry." Mr. Tak apologizes once again and goes inside. Larry then stops Lee.
"Mr. Lee, do you have a wet rag attached to your feet? Either wash your feet or put on some socks."
Most of them chuckled at this.
"Sorry," Lee says while checking his foot. "My sweat glands are clustered at the bottom of my feet. It's an illness." He finishes as he pats Larry's shoulder but Larry whines like a child.
They again chuckled at this.
"Come on." He sighs. "Everyone, please do not touch the glass when you open the door. Do you know how hard it is to wipe this? There is a handle here." He says while closing the door. One of the tenants sneezes in front of the mirror. Larry chuckles. "Gosh, my mirror."
By this time they started laughing.
"I pity you"
"Sorry." She apologizes and starts whipping the mirror with her jacket's sleeve while Larry wipes the mirror off with a piece of cloth.
"I closed the curtains for a reason." He says while closing the curtain.
Mr. Hong enters the dance studio followed by Vincenzo, Vittorio, Cho, and Nam.
"Alright. So is everyone here?" Mr. Hong asked as Vincenzo observed the dancing studio. He stepped on the floor loudly twice as the owner of the studio slammed a white cloth whining.
Larry was looking so offended while the rest were chuckling.
Vittorio tried to hold his laugh. The five of them stood at the front, facing the tenants.
After explaining the contracts about demolishing the building, they agreed. "As tenants, we want your promise."
"That's why we plan to draw up an agreement tomorrow. And you can sign it by the end of this week."
"I know what you said yesterday, but are you really a lawyer in Italy?" One of the tenants asked and Vincenzo smiled and then, looks at Mr. Cho who was also smiling.
"Aren't you a mafia?" Mr. Tak asks.
"But we are still lawyers" Vittorio replies.
"Yes," Vincenzo replied.
"Then, how will you handle it when you don't know our law?" She asks.
"I don't think my legal qualification matters here. Our promise to you and your signatures do." Vincenzo replies. "I will guarantee that you will have your lots back once I rebuild this place." Mr. Cho adds.
"You promise right?" The owner asked from the back. Vincenzo smiled while glancing at Mr. Cho on his left.
"We never lie"
"What do you think?" The man that was beaten by his wife asked the tenants.
"Well, they seem very genuine. Why don't we trust them?" The monk said to the tenants. Vincenzo nodded his head with a smile.
"Genuine my ass! They are doing it only for their interest" Hee-soo muttered.
"I'm also going to trust you, Mr. Vincenzo Casanova." They looked at the girl who played the piano. She was smiling at Vincenzo.
"Yes. Me, too. Mr. Casanova." Vittorio looked at his brother amused by the mispronunciation of his name.
The man then stood up, glaring at them "Let me inform you in advance"
He then jumped while using a wood dance barre and slammed his knee to his palm, creating a loud sound. The owner didn't seem to like how his things are being touched.
"I know martial arts" The tenants looked at him, somehow impressed but the wife was holding herself from blowing up. "If you are deceiving us, I'm going to put you in a guillotine choke for 6 days straight"
"And yeah you will stay alive even when they fire you with bullets," Lee's wife says.
He then lifted the wooden barres. Vincenzo and Vittorio smiled at him as the wife angrily spoke.
"Don't do stuff like that. No one cares. You're embarrassing and so tacky"
Lee whined and his wife lightly slapped his shoulder.
"Let's sum it up. Who agrees to trust them?" Mr. Hong asked.
The chef, the piano girl, the marriage pair, and the monk raised their hands.
The Cassano brothers smiled at this.
"My gosh that annoying Vincenzo. This doesn't feel right. We have no other choice" The dry cleaning man said to the two tenants as the lady of the snack bar muttered.
"Right. Damn it. This is driving me crazy. Darn it."
"Let's give him the benefit of doubt and go with the flow." Then the three of them raised their hands, having no other choices.
Vittorio slightly smirked at this.
All of the tenant's hands are now raised in the air as the monk suddenly said with his palms touching each other.
"Merciful Buddha" Mr. Hong sighed while the other three glanced at each other, smiling and satisfied by their choices.
Vincenzo walked outside with Vittorio and met Mr. Hong there.
"Mr. Hong." He greeted him.
"I will give you two some privacy," Vittorio says and walks away from there.
"The tenants have nothing but your words to go on. But I find this unfortunate because it looks like you are toying with us." Mr. Hong says.
"I have no intentions to toy with you, now do I?" Vincenzo says.
Vincenzo sighs and then speaks.
"Is it that hard for you to trust me?" He asks him.
"I pretended to trust you earlier to assure the other tenants, but I never trust people like you." He replies while Vincenzo lets out a chuckle in disbelief. He looks out of the window and speaks.
Vincenzo here also chuckled in disbelief.
"I am a lawyer and so are you." Mr. Hong turns and looks in his direction and speaks.
"But we clearly have different jobs. You represent money, but I represent people." Vincenzo speaks and turns around his head.
"I also represent people," Vincenzo says.
"Oh, yes. Rich people." Vincenzo smiles in disbelief at this. "I know Babel E&C will buy off this building so I prepared myself for everything. So don't pretend to be a mediator in front of me. Just proceed with your plan." Mr. Hong finishes and Vincenzo smiles. Mr. Hong smiles back at him and then, leaves. Vincenzo simply watches him leave.
"Well, now you know my plans. Do you still think I am gonna let Babel E & C buy what is mine?" Vincenzo asks Mr. Hong who just sighs in response.
The scene changes. Mr. Cho opens the entrance door of his house. It was quiet and dark. He walks inside.
Everyone had a feeling this is not good.
"Where is everyone?" He asks but founds no response. "Honey." He says as he walks ahead. A man suddenly attacks him from behind. Mr. Cho falls to the ground.
They gasped at this.
"Mr. Cho!"
"My goodness! Honey!" He shouts as he watched his wife and daughter's state. Their hand was tied to a chair and had duct tape on their mouth.
"Oh, no"
Mr. Cho's heart was beating rapidly seeing the state of his family.
"Those bastards want to have it this way," Vittorio says.
In the meantime, two men caught his arms and started dragging him from there.
"Who are you, people?" Mr. Cho asks.
"Babel E & C's bastards" Mr. Hong hisses.
"We don't have time to chitchat." A man sitting on the sofa speaks. He signals his men to bring Mr. Cho near his side.
"Ju-yeong." The man blows in the envelope and takes out a document which had 'GEUGMA PLAZA CONTRACT OF SALES' written on it.
All of them knew where this was going.
"All right."
"You..." Mr. Cho says while the man puts the document on the table and speaks.
"Stamp your seal on it. I have to catch a show on TV." Mr. Cho sighs and looks away.
Vittorio scoffs and Vincenzo was angered.
The scene changes to Hong Cha-young's office. She sees an envelope and picks it up. 'JIPURAGI LAW FIRM, LAWYER HONG YU-CHAN and Recipient HONG CHA-YOUNG' were written on it.
"Don't tell me it's one of your bulshit" Cha-young says and Mr. Hong got annoyed.
"What is it this time? Come on." She says as she opens the envelope and takes out the papers.
'RELINQUISHMENT OF PARENTAL RIGHTS' was written on the top of it. She reads ahead and hums. 'RELINQUISHMENT OF PARENTAL RIGHTS DUE TO ETHICS VIOLATIONS
"My goodness," Cha-young dramatically says.
"My goodness. Jeez." She keeps the papers down and takes her phone out and calls her father.
The camera focuses on Mr. Hong who was spraying water on his crops. He finds his phone ringing and sees it's Cha-young and picks it up.
"I am good." He says and hangs up the phone.
Vittorio tried to suppress his laugh but failed to do so and ended up chuckling with others.
"What do you mean?" Cha-young says as she dials her father's number once again. He picks it up.
"I am not interested." He says and hangs up the phone again.
Cha-young scoffs, she was so annoyed at this point.
Cha-young scoffs and puts her phone on the table. She sits on her chair.
"I am so sick of him." She reins in her place for a second and then, quickly grabs her belongings and the papers and runs out of her office.
The scene changes. The contract paper of sale of Geugma Plaza was lying on the table in front of Mr. Cho which had his stamp on it.
"Don't you think I would be an actor?" The man asks.
"How delusional is he?" Han-seo says to Vittorio.
"Maybe infinite, who cares anyway" Vittorio replies.
"Yes, sir." One of the men replies.
"Gosh, that's no brainer."
"Come over here." Mr. Cho silently watches his wife and daughter who were sitting between the goons. Their head picks up the call.
"Yes. Okay. I got it." He hangs up his phone and looks at Mr. Cho and speaks. "Check your bank account. It's over." He stands up from the sofa. "Hey, let's go."
The tenants of Geugma Plaza felt as if their world was shattered. Mr. Cho was looking down in guilt.
"Gosh, let's go." He takes the paper and they leave while Mr. Cho closes his eyes and sadly sighs.
"I am sorry" Mr. Cho apologizes.
"It was not your fault, Mr. Cho," Vincenzo told Mr. Cho.
"Hyung is right. Nothing could have been done in that type of situation" Vittorio says agreeing with his brother.
The scene changes to Jipuragi Law Firm's office.
"It says that by the nature of clinical trials..." Mr. Hong was saying. Suddenly, Cha-young burst into his office.
Mr. Hong sighs knowing that a storm has come into his office.
"Hello, Ms. Hong." Mr. Nam greets her. Cha-young slams her purse on the table.
Some of them flinched at this.
"Who are you to barge in my office? That's some nasty manners you have." Mr. Hong speaks without looking up and going through the papers.
Cha-young shows him the paper and asks, "What's this?"
"Oh, that. I mailed you to remove you from my family registry." Mr. Cho replied.
"It's not possible, the family registration system was abolished years ago," Cha-young says.
"I can't try, can't I?" Mr. Hong says.
Cha-young crosses her arms and speaks. " You can't do that anymore. The family registration system was abolished ages ago. You are a lawyer."
"I can still try, can't I?" Mr. Hong says and finally looks up. "-Hey"
"Yes." Mr. Nam replied.
"This one, too." Mr. Hong speaks to Mr. Nam ignoring Cha-young.
Cha-young scoffs at this.
The rest of them knew this is going to last long.
"And look at this. This is ridiculous." Cha-young says and reads. "The petitioner rejects the following words and any similar words from the recipient. The following words are, appa, abuji, papa, daddy, otosang, baba, and pere." She finishes reading. "This is just outright ridiculous. It's so immature." She says while laughing in a mocking tone.
"You wrote these ridiculous things on that. Gosh, I can't expect any better from you" Cha-young says in an annoyed tone.
Mr. Hong slams his hands on the table and stands up, causing Mr. Nam and Cha-young to flinch.
All of them flinch here too.
"Mr. Nam" Cha-young shouts.
"Yes?"
"I am talking here." She says still in a loud voice.
"Go ahead." Mr. Nam says.
"I pity Mr. Nam" Han-seo muttered.
"Me too" Vittorio says to Han-seo.
