[SEASON ONE: EPISODE SEVEN]

"Fighting positions!" Johnny shouted loudly, walking down the row of students, then kicked Hawk's front foot forward.

"Stabilize your base, Hawk. Keep your balance. Full rotation when you strike." He said, as the boy nodded his head and punched both of his fists. Sensei turned around and, got close to a kid, making him flinch in fear.

"Did you just flinch, Virgin?"

"Holy shit. We got a room full of flinchers." Johnny said, taking small glances at the kids around him.

"Yes, Sensei!"

"That was not a question! Raise your hands if you've never been punch in the face." He said, and everyone expect for Ethan and Aisha raise their hands.

"Put your hands down. All your lives, you've been avoiding fights, so you don't break a tooth, or your nose. This concussion nonsense. So, there's only one solution, and that is before you leave this dojo, each and every of you is gonna take a punch, very hard to the face. Ms. Robinson, line them up. Unflinch this group." Sensei said, as Aisha looked over at Ethan, who just shrugged his shoulders.

Johnny sat down in his office chair, while looking at magazine, sipping on another beer bottle. As he scrolled through the pages, he paused on the one displaying the All Valley Tournament insignia.

Ethan stepped inside the office, and wanted to talk to an old man about something, primarily seeking advice about hanging out with Sam.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" He asked, walking up to his desk.

"First aids under the counter. We got a bleeder?" Johnny asked, pointing over to the counter, next to the desk.

"Yeah. But this is about something else." Ethan stated, as the blonde slightly glanced up at him.

"What is it?"

"There's this girl that I've been friends with...." He started.

"Is she hot?"

"And she's like super smart. Funny and cool."

"Hot?" Johnny asked, repeating the same question over and over again.

"Yes, she's hot. Super hot."

"Nice." He said sarcastically, and smiled at him.

"I think you'll like her. She really loves karate and.... I wanna ask her out, but I just don't know how to." The boy said, as he started feeling doubtful about hanging out with Sam.

"Don't know how? What's there to think about? She's hot, and all those other things." Johnny stated, getting up and walking over to him.

"But, what if she says no." Ethan said, second guessing himself.

"Never accept defeat, Williams. There is 'no'."

"Sensei, I'm pretty sure, no means 'no'."

"If things are getting physical, no means no, but if you're just asking her out.... You're a Cobra Kai. All the babes wanna date a Cobra Kai. Right?" Johnny asked, as Ethan noticed him holding a magazine in his hand, and looked down at it, to see it said All Valley Under-18 Karate Tournament.

"Are we going to enter this tournament?"

"I don't think we're ready yet."

And just before they were finishing up with this conversation, Hawk fell down on the mat, making the students gasped in shock. The two then, turned their heads to see, where that loud noise came from.

"I'm okay." He groaned, standing up from the floor.

The next day at West Valley High School, Ethan stood by Sam's locker. Minutes turned into what felt like hours, until she'd finally showed up.

"Hey, Sammy."

"Hey." She replied, looking up at him.

"I didn't know this was yours."

"Yup, that's me." Sam said.ย

"Anyways, I'm glad I ran into you. Because I have been thinking about you." He said, making her have a weird expression on her face.

"Not like that in a way."

"Are you okay, Ethan?" She asked, sounding worried.

"Yeah. I was, wondering if you'd like to hang out with me?"

"That's so sweet of you. I mean, I would like to, but with everything that happened with Kyler. I've kinda took a break from all that stuff." Sam explained.

"Yeah, I get it." He said.

"But, I'll see you in class?"

"Totally." Ethan said, walking away but something stopped him.

"Never accept defeat!"

Johnny's words replayed in his mind like a lightning flash. He turned around and stepped back over to Sam.

"It'll just be the two of us hanging out together, like we'd use to do."

"That sounds like a date."

"Really? Come on, me and you have fun all the time. I think it'll be amazing." Ethan reasoned with her, as she lightly sighed.

"Okay, if it's just us hanging out, then I guess it could be fun." Sam said.

"Great!"

"What about like tonight?"

"Pick me up at eight."

"You do know that I don't have a car, right?" He asked, making her look up at him in shock.

"I'll pick you up, and you should probably get one soon." She said.

"I mean, I've asked my mom about it and she said I'm too young, and that I should be at least 18."

"See you tonight!" Sam yelled cheerfully, before walking down the hall to her next class.

After school, Ethan, Hawk, Aisha were in the dojo, stretching their muscles out.

"I need somewhere fun, but not too crazy in a way." He complained, trying to come up the perfect way to hangout with Sam.

"You took take her to get tattoos." Hawk suggested, making them turned towards him in confusion.

"What?"

"I know a guy, just hooked me up with this bad boy." He said, getting up off the floor and untying the top part of his gi.

"That is badass."

"Right? Fourteen hours in the chair."

"Wait. Are your parents okay with that?" Aisha asked, as Hawk puts the top half of the gi back on, while he sat down.

"Oh, they have no idea. Definitely gonna have to a T-shirt until college. Probably longer, please don't tell them."

"Alright, any other suggestions on what I should do?" Ethan asked, mainly glancing over at her.

"Don't look at me. Sam and I used to be friends. We're not anymore."

"I'm sorry, but I still need your help."

"Fine. I know that she likes chocolates and astronomy."

"I could work with that." He nodded his head in agreement.

"Banned? What are you talking about? No, you can't ban me, I'll ban you!" Johnny shouted loudly, just as Ethan quickly got up from the floor, and ran into the office.

"What's up?" He whispered quietly, so the others could hear them.

"There's a lifetime ban on Cobra Kai from entering the tournament."

"Wait, how is that fair?"

"It's not. And there's nothing I can do about it."

"What ever happened to 'never accept defeat'?There is no 'no'?" Ethan asked.

"That was girl advice. This is different. This is the real world. There are rules."

"Since when do you care about the rules? We don't take no for an answer, you said that! You've gotta fight this." He said, encouragingly, and pointed at him.

"You what? You're right. I'm gonna go down there.... And beat their asses." Johnny said, getting up, rushing over towards the door.

"No, no, no! That's not what I'm saying."

"Maybe there's another more delicate approach, Sensei."

"The way of the fist is not delicate. Cobras are not delicate." He said, stepping closer to Ethan.

"Yes, you're right. But, I'm just saying, maybe there's an even smarter way to fight back?"

Later that day, Johnny was in his apartment, preparing for his meeting regarding the lifetime ban of Cobra Kai from entering any professional tournament.

He gazed into the mirror, adjusting his suit, when a knock echoed at the front door.

"Hey, Sensei!" Ethan shouted, from the other side of the apartment.

"Come in."

"Are you like nervous for your meeting?" He asked, walking up to him.

"I'm not nervous. I'm just pissed off."

"Remember, you have to be nice to these people. If ever you get angry, what are you gonna do about it?"

"I don't know. I usually just punch the guy."

"That's definitely not going to work. So, how's this? When someone makes you really mad, you make fist like you're gonna punch them, but don't?"

"Like hold it in? I could try." Johnny said, as he walked over to the kitchen table and grabbed a small brown briefcase.

"A briefcase. What's inside it?"

"Nothing. Found it in the dumpster." He said, opening the box, and showed there was nothing in there.

"Very nice touch."

"What about you? Are you nervous for your date?"

"It's not actually a date. But, yeah. I'm a little bit."

"There's nothing to be worried about. All right? Just relax, be cool. And when the time comes, you'll make your move." Johnny explained to him, which caused him to look confused.

"What? I have a move?" He asked, curiosity.

"Oh, come on, man. You gotta walked up to the girl and kissed her."

"I'd like to, but I don't technically want to."

"No, that's not true. You could learn how to braid her hair, talk about all those other guys who had the balls to kiss her on a first date."

"Why didn't you say something about that before?" Ethan shouted angrily, as Johnny walked up to him.

"You're a Cobra Kai. Strike First, strike hard. It's not just for karate. It's for everything, all right? Where you taking this chick anyway?"

"A big place called the observatory. A little small picnic on the lawn, chocolate tasting three ways, and if the sky are clear, then we'll look up at the stars."

"The only part of that made any sense at all is three way." Johnny said, and Ethan shrugged his shoulders.

"It'll be fun."

"All right, look if you wanna impress this chick, you've gotta take her to where I used to take all my babes back in the day."

"And where's that at exactly?" The boy asked, as Johnny smiled at him.

A little while later, Sam picked Ethan up from his apartment. He provided her with the location, and, they drove to the parking lot.

"I can't actually believe you wanted to come to Golf N' Stuff." She said, looking around at the front entrance, making the boy thought she'd didn't like it and felt guilty about it.

"We couldn't gone somewhere else, if you wanted to."

"Are you kidding me? I love this place." Sam said, as Ethan sighed in relief.

"Really? I didn't know that." He said.

"Come on. It's gonna be so much fun."

"My dad brought me all time when I was kid. And now, you can enjoy it with me." She said, as they grabbed their golf sticks, and walked over to the mini golfing place.

She took the first swing, scoring a hole-in-one, prompting a cocky smirk at Ethan. Confidently, when he placed his ball down, he really thought he could beat her. However, Sam hit his, resulting in his following behind hers.

He swiftly pursued her across the course, attracting attention from onlookers due to Sam's contagious laughter. Ethan managed to get the ball near the lion's mouth, and though it didn't go in, he skillfully put it in himself, earning a high five from the brunette.

In the next game, they aimed for the highest points, and suddenly, Ethan hit the jackpot, causing hundreds of tickets to out of the machine. Sam, visibly surprised, joined him in collecting the tickets and carrying them over to the prize booth.

"Alright this is way too much. You could get 15 necklaces, for an eraser or 37 lamps." He said, pointing to the smaller prizes in the glass container, but she had her eye on something much different.

"I want that guy." Sam said, as she pointed towards a large stuff dragon that sat on the top shelf, the lady pulled it down and passed it to her.,

"An Octopus, interesting. Isn't he fluffy enough?" Ethan asked, hugging the dragon, while stroking its head.

"Oh, he's very fluffy."

"You ready? Let's go." Sam said, as she walked away from him, carrying the red octopus in her hands.

"Yeah. Where are we going?" Williams asked, following after her.

They squeezed into a small photo booth, settling into the limited space. Ethan wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and they shared a smile for the camera.

For the next photo, the boy made a silly face by puffing his cheeks out, and Sam playfully struck her tongue out. However, in their shared gaze, that awkward moment interfered, causing them to miss the opportunity for the next snapshot.

After a few minutes, the printed photos were in hand, and she tore them into four separate pictures, handing the other two to him.

Sam and Ethan grabbed cinnamon pretzels from the small stalls outside and settled in a cramped space with a green bench.

"So, Mr. Dragon would like to know if you are better at karate.... Then you are at mini golf." She said, as the boy turned his head to look over at her.

"Well, why don't you tell Mr. Dragon, here. That I'm the best in the world." He said, sounding a little cocky. While, Sam took a small bite of the pretzel, and hummed, trying so hard not to laugh.

"Really, The best in the whole world? Even better than me?" Sam asked, with a raise eyebrow.

"Well, I did kinda won those spars match we had, we were...." The boy started, but was cut off.

"I didn't meant anything like that." She reasoned.

"Okay, stand up." He said, as Sam playfully rolled her eyes, leaving the food and octopus, then stood up in front of him.

"Now, get into a fighting position. Then, you wanna move your arm over here and this one here." Ethan said, moving her arms around so slightly, then placed his hands on her hips.

"You're gonna put your hands on my hips?" Sam asked, as his cheeks began to heat up and started to deny it, but left them on anyway, until she wrapped her legs around his waist, flipping them both over, causing him to slump against the dirt.

"Holy cow, that was amazing."

"It's Sensei Sam." She corrected him, as she held him down on the ground, by putting her foot on his chest. Then, walked down closer towards him, and straddled his waist.

"You know, this may be the best date I've ever been on."

"Really? Cause technically, it's not a date. It's just us hanging out together, like old times."

"Right. Not a date." Sam said, leaning down into his face, causing Ethan to close his eyes and she lightly kissed him on his cheek, obviously for good luck.

"And that wasn't a kiss."

"It was on the cheek. But, I guess it still counts."

ALSO KEEP IN MIND, JUST BECAUSE SAM GAVE ETHAN A KISS ON THE CHEEK, MEANS SHES JUST GIVING HIM GOOD LUCK.

AND THEY WONT OFFICIALLY GET TOGETHER UNTIL SEASON THREE.
