CHAPTER TWO:
GAME ON

LILIANNA STARK LAY ON HER bed, staring up at her ceiling with a small frown plastered on her lips. She had yet to leave her room, not wanting to hear the nagging from her mother about how she needed to start this mission, how Hope Mikaelson needed to die sooner rather than later. The file filled with everything about the tribrid sat on her desk, gleaming in the light and taunting the dark haired teenager.

A knock came on her door, and she almost opened her mouth to respond only to here her brother's voice. "Mom, let her rest. She's been up all night with that stupid file you gave her. Let her sleep for Christ's sake." Lilianna looked towards the door, smiling gently at her brother's words before listening as her mother huffed in response before turning on her heel and walking away, Grayson following after her.

It was true. Lilianna had stayed up half the night, reading the file over and over again, wondering what was so special about Hope Mikaelson other than the fact that she was a tribrid. Lilianna would always have a grudge against the supernatural, that factor was true. They had killed her father, and she wanted to continue her father's legacy by being the best version of herself that she could be. But listening to the words her mother had spoken to her the night prior only repeated over and over in her hand. Her fate, along with Hope's, were intertwined with one another.

She couldn't help but be curious as to what the meant. Would she die at the hands of Hope, or would Hope die at the hands of her, making her become one of the most respected hunters.  Or, maybe they would both die at the hands of each other. She didn't know. She placed her hands over her face, taking a moment to groan in annoyance before rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she sat up. She ran a hand through her dark curls, taking a moment to look around her room before reluctantly pulling the blankets from her body.

Lilianna quickly got dressed, pulling the curtains open and allowing the sun to shine through. Her blue walls lit up, seeming to have a sparkle to them as the suns rays directly hit them. She walked over to her desk, sitting down as she opened her laptop. Pursing her lips, she looked up tribrids. Her eyes darted across the screen as she read up on them, and to say they were powerful beings would be an understatement. A witch, werewolf, and vampire all in one. It made her mission seem even more impossible than she already thought.

Closing her laptop, Lilianna placed her head in her hands with a huff falling from her lips. She didn't even know where to find this Hope Mikaelson chick. But, that's why they called her the best of the hunters. Because she could find anyone with the smallest of hints. Even those that had made it impossible for them to be found, Lilianna could find them.

Another knock came at her door causing Lilianna to stand up and pull the door open to reveal her mother standing there. She refrained herself from rolling her eyes before pushing past her mother and making her way into the kitchen where her brother was eating at the table. Grayson looked up, watching his sister enter with Talia following behind her. The boy clenched his jaw for a moment before meeting his mother's eyes.

"Really, mom?" He scoffed, shaking his head.

"She wasn't even asleep." Talia defended, watching as her daughter grabbed herself breakfast, sitting at the table with her brother.

The older woman leaned against the kitchen counter, watching her two children with a gentle smile falling on her lips. Watching the two siblings interact with one another was something Talia always enjoyed watching. She got lucky in the children department. Having heard so many mothers complain about how their children always fought non-stop. But Lilianna and Grayson never fought―︎at least, not often. Sure, they've gotten in a few disputes with one another, ignoring each other for a week at most before both apologizing. She knew not a lot of siblings had a bond like that, and she was glad that her children did have that.

Deciding to let her children eat in peace before they began their training for the day, Talia turned on her heel and walked out of the kitchen causing both siblings to look at her with surprise. Lilianna turned her head to look back towards Grayson who met her eyes before shrugging his shoulders in response.

"Don't question it." Grayson whispered, shoving eggs into his mouth. "Maybe she's becoming a normal mother and letting her children eat in peace without talking about you know what."

"Please." Lilianna scoffed, rolling her eyes. "If mom was becoming a normal mother, then all the supernatural beings in the world would be dead." Grayson chuckled at this before standing up and grabbing both of their plates, placing them in the sink before turning to look at her.

     "Ready?"

"What? For me to kick your ass? Please. I'm always ready for that." Lilianna smirked in amusement as Grayson rolled his eyes at her response.

"One of these days, I'm gonna be the one to kick your ass." Grayson pointed towards her.

"Highly unlikely, dear brother of mine." She pulled down the collar of her shirt, revealing her birthmark. "According to this little arrow right here, I was literally born to kick your ass. I am undefeated. You should know this, since I've been beating you since the time I could walk."

"Is that how we're gonna play this?" Lilianna only shrugged and smiled in response before walking out of the kitchen and towards the place in which the two siblings trained. Grayson nodded his head. "Game on, little sis. Game on."
