Cats and Wars
Eshanya had been avoiding Yashasvi like a plague ever since the couch incident which was disrupted because of Riyan's cameo appearance.
She was definite that he was probably high on something, leading him to invade her proximity and act...weird.
Yashasvi Jaiswal wouldn't even hug her in an entire lifetime, let alone kiss her.
Though, the palpable tension between them was so thick that it couldn't be cut even with a knife.
Tanvi, observant as usual, took no time in making out something was amiss among the two.
" What's with the awkward silence?" She'd asked, her curious gaze lingering at her as Eshanya avoided eye contact.
" Nothing." She'd answered back confidently.
" I don't believe you. You always lie when you're avoiding eye contact."
But Eshanya had only stubbornly shaken her head, insisting that nothing was really up.
Yashasvi had come to drop Eshanya the next morning after the paparazzi chaos, and Dhruv and Riyan were not calm about it.
Not when Eshanya spent the night in Yashasvi's house, and despite sleeping in different rooms, they were going wild over the newfound information.
" How should we believe that you did nothing to invade each other's proximity?" Dhruv had questioned, and to that, Riyan had his piece of information ready.
" I agree! Yashu was bare-chested when I reached and Eshanya had turned all red! I do believe they did something to invade each other's proximities."
" Nothing happened. How could when you decided to grace us with your divine presence?" Yashasvi had snapped at him.
" And? You sound disappointed." Riyan had frowned, earning a smack from Dhruv.
" Did you take a strainer along when God was giving brains Riyan?"
" What? No!"
At the present moment, when they'd all just reached Eshanya's penthouse, she worriedly turned towards Tanvi.
" Is he mad?"
He?
Who did she mean by he here?
Her Father?
She least cared if he was mad or not, and rightly so.
Then who could he be?
Eeshan?
But from whatever he'd heard, Eeshan was currently in New York.
Could it have been....Prithvi Sinha?
Yashasvi shook his head at the thought, declaring it absurd.
No one could take a week to move on from Prithvi Sinha.
He looked like a bonobo and had a personality of doormat anyway.
He still didn't understand what exactly did Eshanya like so much about him,
Could it be his voice?
But that was equally horrible, Yashasvi was definite his screech perfectly replicated that of a bonobo.
He broke out of his thoughts when Tanvi spoke.
" He's quite upset. I mean he's created quite a mess in your absence, or at least, attempted to. Y'know that he hates being left alone."
Sighing, Eshanya walked into her bedroom.
" Hi baby! I'm so sorry I couldn't come home, yes yes I know you're upset but forgive me this once? Please? I'm sho sorry."
He gaped as her voice turned babyish.
Seriously?
Was she babying a boy?
" Who is this?" Yashasvi asked Tanvi a pang of unknown jealousy growing within him.
" Who is who?" She innocently blinked back at him and he sighed.
" He? Who does she mean by he? Another boy she likes?"
" Oh..oh yes. Not likes, but loves."
" Aw, you missed me? Sho cute!" He overheard her saying and he scoffed.
" And she finds him cute?"
Tanvi nodded her head.
" He is cute. White, regal, adorable. He's quite possesive about her by the way. He hates her parents every time they visit, so he snarls at them each time, even tries biting sometimes, very unlike him but yes. He hates it when she leaves him alone at home, so he tends to act pricey." She told him, enjoying watching him grow jealous.
" And what does he do for Singhania to find him cute?"
" Oh nothing much. He cuddles her after a lot of pestering, sleeps at odd spots in the house, and can be clingy on rare days."
" She finds that cute?" He looked at Tanvi incredulously.
" He is cute Yashasvi!"
" Sure thing." He nodded his head in mock sarcasm.
" And what's this pricey arse's name?"
" Oh her Persian cat Moony."
Yashasvi's expressions changed within a fraction of a second as Dhruv and Riyan burst into laughter, and Abhay, who'd come along as well, tried his best hiding the quirk of lips but failed miserably as he too burst into laughter.
Tanvi's gaze flickered towards Abhay as she stared at him fondly, the corner of her lips quirking up in a small smile.
" That wretched animal?" He exclaimed in disbelief and Tanvi frowned.
" Hey! Moony ain't wretched! Mind what you speak about him!"
" You never said you're talking about her cat!"
" I never said I was talking about a human either! I mean humans don't snarl or bite fellow humans do they?"
Yashasvi groaned, feeling embarrassed.
He couldn't believe he had gotten so worked up over a CAT to be crying out loud.
As Eshanya opened the door to her bedroom and stepped out, everyone's head turned to look at her.
Startled with the sudden attention, she stepped back, her gaze fleeting as it landed on Yashasvi, who was...glaring at the white Persian cat comfortably nestled in her arms?
Yashasvi stared at the cat, and it stared back at him, and letting out a yawn, it looked away, utterly disinterested as it declared without any fierce meows, that he wanted to do nothing with this boring human.
Earning a good lot of attention, Moony continued to stay nestled in her arms,
And Yashasvi was sure in no time, this wretched cat was about to get royal treatment.
" Wow, he's rude." Yashasvi shot him a glare.
" He's not! He just takes his time to get familiar with people and warm upto them!" She retorted, and then added,
" Like you."
" Eshanya, I thought you'd be more of a dog person." Riyan cleared his throat, earning her attention.
" Oh I do love dogs! But I'm more of a cat person. And Moony's extra special, cause Tanvi got him for me."
" Aw that's cute." Abhay grinned.
" Of-course she's a cat person Riyan. How else would she be with Yashasvi who's equally grumpy as Moony and nearly replicates his personality?"
Yashasvi groaned, shooting Dhruv a sharp glare as everyone laughed.
" You two would get along quite well." Eshanya nodded her head at him and he scoffed in disbelief, poking his tongue in his inner cheek as he looked back down at the cat.
Moony's tail brushed across Eshanya's hand as he finally got down from her arms, and royally walked away to some corner of the house, ignoring everyone else, but before he left, he looked at Yashasvi, and Yashasvi's eyes narrowed down at him, staring at his competition, and he had made his assumption,
He only looked regal and adorable,
Otherwise,
A wretched cat, that's all he was.
And the two had come to a mutual dislike for one another,
Going on war.
All for the sake of attention from one girl.
