would you wanna go to the dance ?

Brightness. That was the first thing Meredith could sense, and then her ears picked up on three heartbeats, a tense feeling filling the room. The second thing that came to mind was the absolute mega headache that causes Meredith to groan, slowly moving her hand up to her head to try to soothe the ache.

"Mere? Are you doing alright? Let me get the doctor," She could hear Xavier's worried voice as he left the room in a hurry to notify her doctor.

Meredith huffs while forcing herself to sit up, slowly cracking her eyes open to let her eyes adjust to the brightness of the room. She side eyes the window, curtains wide open to allow the bright sunlight in. Emphasis on bright

"Now who thought that was a great idea, it's way to bright in here that I might just end up burning alive" Meredith exaggerates, the curtains closing abruptly with a furrow of her eyebrows.

"I opened them. I was hoping that the brightness would cause a headache and awake you from your slumber. I am happy it is causing you pain." Wednesday monotone fills the room as she looks down at Meredith with a quirked eyebrow.

"Aren't ya just a bundle of joy and sunshine" Meredith states with heavy sarcasm, a strained smile on her face from the sore feeling all over. She looks over at Wednesday who stood in front of her bed, staring down at her with void eyes.

"I can sense your worry... I'm fine, really" Meredith assures Wednesday, her powers sensing the emotions filling the room. Wednesday crosses her hands over her chest - almost in defense- as she answers with a monotone voice, "of course I would be worried. You are my friend" she speaks before continuing.

"What even happened? You ran off in a panic as if something had spooked you, which is worrying since you never do get scared" Wednesday questions, eyes narrowing in anticipation to hear the story.

Meredith purses her lips, unsure of where she should even start. She glances back up at Wednesday, "I'm not even sure, it was like my body was on autopilot and I had no choice but to run out of reflex. I could sense something, a dark and eerie presence that caused my body to go on high alert and then it led me into the woods where a man stood. I'm not sure who he was but he seemed to know almost everything about me and my family." She tries her best to summarize what happened, a sense of confusion still lingering. Who was that man? How does he know about her brother?

So many questions are swarming in her head but before she could think further, Xavier walks in with the doctor. Meredith frowns, "aw man, I hate doctors..." she mumbles, crossing her arms over her chest as she shakes her head at Wednesday.

"How are you feeling Ms. Carter?" The doctor questions, eyes kind as he looks over the young witch, "Just feeling sore..." Meredith answers, the doctor nodding his head as he swivels his chair near her

"That makes sense, you have minor bruising around your ankles and ribs, a minor concussion from the a fall, and a few scrapes and bruises but overall you're healing up nicely. Do you remember how you got these injuries?" The doctor hums while Meredith shrugs at the doctor, "I just tripped... guess the ground won" She jokes, trying to ease the doctors suspicions.

He nods his head slowly, not fully believing her but letting it go, reaching for his clip board, "Well, I will be letting you go with some medicine to help with the soreness. Just make sure to steer clear of the branches out there!" The doctor laughs before handing Meredith the medicine and leaving to tend to the other patients leaving the three alone.

"Are you really feeling okay?" Xavier worriedly asks

"Yes I'm fine guys! Just a little bruised and sore but I'm fine. Totally ready for the next mystery to solve!" Meredith tries to convince the two, blushing faintly at Xaviers worry for her.

"Okay. Let's get you home then." Wednesday states.

"Yay!" Meredith exlaims, throwing her hands in the air but soon regrets as the soreness hits her like a train, grumbling in pain.

It was the next day and Meredith was feeling a little bit better, legs swinging off of Wednesdays bed as she hums. Did she miss out on sneaking into the morgue? yes. Was she sad about it? again yes. But Wednesday was adamant about not letting her join until she was feeling 100% better in which Meredith was quick to rebute but lost in the end.

Meredith is knocked out of her thoughts when she hears Wednesday snapping her fingers, "Earth to Meredith. We're going to be late to class if we don't leave now" She frowns, gesturing for Meredith to gather her things so that they can get to class.

Meredith groans, head thrown back as she whines, "I don't want to go to class especially Thornhills class" Slowly picking her bag up so that they can go to the stupid plant class.

"Wednesdy, what if we just skippped... and get some more anwsers for your case??' Meredith tries to tempt but Wednesday does not budge, "If we skip, the school will call mother again and we will both be in trouble. We're going to class and besides, Xavier will be there" Wednesday states in her usual monotone voice.

Meredith scoffs, "What makes you think I am interested in going just because Xavier is going to be there..." she mumbles, a faint blush covering her cheeks as they walk into class and into their seats. Wednesday goes to sit at the table behind Meredith as her seat was taken by none other than Xavier. Wednesday huffs but sits down while Meredith takes the seat beside Xavier.

"Feeling brave now, pretty boy?" Meredith teases, nodding back towards Wednesday, "Maybe I am.." Xavier replies, a small smile on his face but before he could say anything else, Ms. Thornhill begins class, "Kill me now" Meredith whispers to Xavier before focusing on what she was saying about plants and deception.

Meredith furrows her eyebrows when she hears Xavier grunt in pain as he grabbed his book from his bag, "Are you feeling alright?" She whispers.

"I tweaked my back fencing " Xavier whispers, shrugging the pain off before focusing back on Thornhill

"Now, once the plant is polluted, what do the males insects get in exchange?" Thornhills gazes over the class for a response, "Nada. Just like the guys at the Rave'N" causing the class to erupt into laughter

Meredith purses her lips, trying not to laugh because she would rather die than laugh at Biancas jokes. But damn that was funny

"Okay, Okay. I know you're all excited about Saturday. Which is why I have decided to not assign any homework." Thornhill smiles and it was like Meredith could hear the angels singing from above, her arms pumping up in the air "Yes!" Meredith exclaims, bumping Xavier excitedly and smiling widely at Wednesday.

"Aren't you pumped about disco balls and spiked punch? There's even a DJ. MC Blood Suckaz" Xavier asks, nudging Meredith who turns towards the boy, a thoughtful expression on her face as she hums, "Nope, never been to a school dance and probably won't ever, makes me wanna poke needles into my eyes! I'm just excited about the no homework factor. I hope there's a Rave'N every Saturday!!" Meredith laughs, doing a mini dance in her seat from how excited she was about the no homework.

Xavier frowns, "Why not go? Invite someone and have a little fun.." he trails off disappointed as he leans down to grab his bag, leaving her behind.

"Did you see the cut on his neck?" Wednesday startles Meredith, appearing right beside her as soon as Xavier left, "Yeah I did, he said he got hurt fencing" Meredith shrugs

"That cut is not from fencing. We need to find out what's going on with him" Wednesday turns around to leave with Meredith right behind her, "Okay but how?"

Meredith should not have asked how as they were hiding behind tree branches, stalking Xavier at some kind of shed. "We need to do this. Xavier didn't get those scratches from fencing. He's hiding something." Wednesday stares ahead watching as Xavier leaves the building.

Meredith huffs, twisting the rings on her hands, "Yeah but doesn't this feel like we're violating his personal space..?" Meredith questions feeling a tad bit uncomfortable but still curious, "No" Wednesday states, opening the doors to the shed and going in. Meredith purses her lips and sighs before following Wednesday in.

Her eyes widen at the large paintings of a monster of some sort with wide eyes and razor sharp teeth, "I guess every artists needs their muse.." Meredith jokes, "I suppose. Xavier has become much more interesting" Wednesday mumbles, shuffling through paper drawings of the monster.

"Come on, Day, lets get out of here before we get caught. I feel like he'll come back any minute and than we'll actually be fucked" Meredith urges, feeling off all of a sudden. Wednesday turns the light back off, following Meredith out of the shed.

They were three feet away from the door when the sound of leaves crunching below someone's shoe startles the two, a familiar voice filling the air, "Meredith?... And Wednesday? What are you two doing here?" Xavier is quick to question them, eyes staring into Meredith's who deflates at being caught.

"Nothing" Wednesday replies quickly, a tell-sign that she was lying while Meredith smiles up at Xavier, "Oh hey pretty boy! Just saw you coming out this way. What is this place anyways? a torture shack? snack shack?" Meredith questions, fully aware of what kind of shack it was.

"It's kind of my private art studio.." Xavier shrugs, "I cleared it out and fixed it up so Weems let me use it" He finishes with a hand gesture towards the shed. Meredith hums while Wednesday grows more suspicious, "How very Entrepreneural. A shed in the middle of the woods, secluded away from everyone else." She states while Meredith hums, "Cool! I would love to see the inside! Wanna give a tour, pretty boy??" Meredith tempts with a wiggle of her eyebrow, trying to not seem suspicious.

Xavier is quick to shake his head, a stressed expression on his face as he waves his hand, "Not right now. It's a total mess." Meredith stares up at him, "Oh no worries! Me and Wednesday shadowed this crime scene photographer last summer. Saw everything, and, I mean everything" Meredith draws out the last word to exaggerate that they have seen worse, Wednesday nodding along, "Not easily fazed." She adds

Xaviers eyebrows furrow, "Maybe another time... Why were you guys looking for me?" Xavier questions

Meredith is quick to lie, "Just wanted to go over Thornhills homework assignment! You know how much I hate that class and the homework" she laughs, nudging Wednesday

"She didn't give us homework, remember? you got so excited you started to dance" He reminds her as Meredith mentally slaps herself on the head, "I am going to excuse myself" Wednesday states, walking off to separate herself from the two

'Wow, I cannot believe she just left me here to deal with this mess. I am so gonna get her back for this' Meredith thinks to herself with a frown, "Why are you really out here? Is this about a certain dance that makes you wanna poke needles into your eyes ?" Xavier questions, bending down slightly to see Meredith better, "I'm all ears" Xavier tempts, Meredith noticing Wednesday behind the trees who is nodding towards her

Meredith sighs, looking up at the sky with a faint blush covering her cheeks and the tips of her ears. "Are you really going to make me ask, pretty boy?" Meredith mumbles looking up at the tall boy who grins widely, a smirk spreading across his face, "Oh absolutely" He grins, rocking on his feet as he awaits the question.

Meredith ponders for a few seconds, twisting her rings, before her eyes fell back onto the boy who was eagerly awaiting the question. If I'm going to do this, I am going all out, Meredith thinks to herself, her hands going behind her back to conjure up a large bouquet of flowers.

"Would you consider going to the Rave'N dance with me?!" Meredith shouts, face burning and eyes squeezed shut as she thrust the large bouquet to the boy in front of her.

Xaviers warm laughter fills the silence, his hand grazing hers as he takes the flowers from her hand, "Yes, of course I will go to the dance with you Meredith" He smiles widely, eyes bright and crinkled as he gestured to the flowers, "Never uh got flowers before, thank you. Though I think that is my job to provide them for you" He smiles while Meredith opens her eyes, face still pink as she lets out a nervous laugh.

"I panicked, I'm sorry! I've never asked a boy to a dance before..." She twists her rings before twirling her hair nervously, "Thanks for agreeing to go with me" She smiles up at Xavier who grins, leaning down to be near Meredith, "I thought you would never ask" He whispers causing the tingling sensation to spread all over her body.

"Never thought I would either" Meredith exclaims, running off with a mixture of embarrassment and excitement.

she just hopes it's a good time...
