Grudge

One of my more powerful and sad stories, but I love it still. If you like this as much as me, sharing it would be appreciated. ZairaDrayan- out.

I was watching. The whole time I watched that little brat storm through the Underground and kill everyone. I don't get why the human had to go insane. Tori was first, then my bro, then came Undyne, Mettaton..., Asgore, Alphys, Flowey even, everyone. I've never seen a human so bent on killing. Actually, I don't think you could even call it human. Monster would be a compliment. A demon maybe? Sure. That's what it was.

"Welp, no point on living in the past. The murderer got the ending they wanted. I'm still not quite sure what happened or where I am, but it certainly is a lot better than down there in the Underground with the murderer alone," Sans said to himself as he began to walk away from the edge of the new world he dwelt in.

He walked away trying to forget the memories. He didn't know what he was walking into. Somewhere. He'd find Papyrus later and it'd be like he never left the comfort of his home in the Underground. He never got to see the real light of day, but sometimes he wondered.

On and on he went. Snow began to fall. His soul didn't get cold. Cold didn't exist in this place. However, something chilled him down to the bone.

"Well, look who's here. No wonder I didn't feel like comin'. After what you did, I can't say that I'm happy to see you, kid," Sans said in greeting to the shivering bundle on the ground. She looked up to him and began to cry softly."That supposed to make me feel bad? Sorry, but it doesn't seem to be working today. I'm feeling a little cold. Why should I have pity on you?"

The tiny human slowly got to her feet. Her clothes were torn and she was freezing. She boldly held her head up as if she was expecting Sans to smack her down.

"What's that look for? You wanna continue the fight from before? Heh. I have no intentions of killing anyone. Not even you again. You don't deserve my pity or my cruelty. You deserve THIS. The coldness and bitterness you showed us. How does it feel? Like a walk in the park? No. It's worse than you expected, eh? Welp, sorry to say that and run, but I have a brother to get back to, you know. Remember? The one you killed."

The human sighed. She sat on the ground and tried to warm herself. She stared after Sans. For the first time, she spoke. "I could have just reset everything again. I could have murdered everyone again. I don't even have to be here... There is a reason I did come here. It's to give you this..."

Sans stopped and turned around. He tilted his head. "Yeah? What is it? I don't see anything. What are you holding behind your back?"

The human tossed him a small box. When Sans opened it, he sharply inhaled and sighed. "I guess that I forgot this... I was wondering what became of it. Papyrus has been wondering about it, too... How did you know...?"

"I found it lying on the ground right after you died. I picked it up and I... felt... terrible for some reason... I didn't quite have the strength to leave it behind... I guess I was hoping to return it to you at some point...," she replied.

Sans found himself feeling very emotional. He couldn't stop as his stared at the fabric in his hands. He remembered all too well. It was the scarf that his own mother gave to Papyrus before she died fighting in the Royal Guard. It was the scarf Papyrus had a bond with. He could hardly ever be separated from it. The red scarf. It held every memory Sans could remember. He held it close to his chest and laughed slightly.

"Heh... I guess... I underestimated you... Sorry... I didn't think you had any good in you... However, you still killed everyone. A scarf can't make up for that!" Sans snapped.

Sans had yelled the words, but nobody heard them.

The human wasn't in sight. As soon as Sans looked away for a second, the human was gone.
