Kasai

After walking Minami back out... making sure to avoid all the traps that were set up, I walk back to my room to get ready to sleep... which really was more like lying in bed on my phone till it died, or until I fall asleep on my phone.

I really want to put off sleep as long as I can... the black smoke in the kitchen earlier really left an uneasy feeling in my gut... it kind of reminded me of the black flame that I had in my previous dreams... But then again, it could also have come as a result of Victor making a snack... which is also pretty dangerous.

I sigh, as I flop onto my bed. I look over to the nightstand, and see the coin I left there... What is weird is that the coin's head had the face of a joker, and the other side had an emblem... the emblem of what, I don't know. But there is what looks like a vulture in the foreground, and in the background there is three thick lines.

If...If I go to sleep, I will probably slip into his unknown world again... Or will I have a much wanted dreamless sleep?... should I just avoid sleep? That would be a good plan... really I don't want another dream.

What makes no sense to me is how in my unconscious state, I seem to be physically transported to another dimension... a place where the laws of physics seem to be created off the whim of it's creator. It is impossible... or at least it should be. However I'm sure that no laws of science in this world can explain what I experienced... well at least the laws that I were taught. And I'm confident in what Phichit and Seung Gil Lee taught me.

Perhaps it has something to do with-

"Kasai! Where are you!" I hear a voice shout breaking my train of thought.

"I'm coming!" I shout back, scurrying off my bed, and towards the voice.

I go to the living room, and see that Victor, Yurio and Otabek are packing up.

"Don't let Victor, Otabek, and Yurio go before saying bye to them. See them to the door." Niichan scolds me lightly.

"Ah, Yuri at this point she doesn't have to see us out, we're like family. It's not like she sees members of the Ninjas out every time they leave." Yurio says shaking his head, throwing his arm around my neck in a head lock, forcing me to escape him for practice, "Next time, you shouldn't even let me get to you. Got it?"

"Yes Yurio..." he raises his eyebrow, "... I mean, yes Sensei."

He nods his head in satisfaction, "Good. By the way, I'll try get that weapon design to those idiot for you. I'm sorry that I could have had it done earlier for your birthday."

Everybody rolls their eyes. "Let me tell you, it's her calling you Sensei that is what she should stop doing. Also stop bragging about how your present is going to be better than mine!" Victor says. 

"You're just jealous." Says Yurio sticking his tongue out at Victor. "Nobody needs to have chihoko living in their room" 

"It's for luck you son of a-"

Niichan steps between them, and places a hand on Victor's shoulder to calm him down. "Yurio put your tongue back where it belongs." he says

"Ya put that tongue back on Otabek's-" Victor says under his breath.

Niichan cuts him off, "And you." He says looking at Victor, "Stop letting him provoke you."

"It's not that he provokes me it's that-" but Niichan shakes his head, not listening.

"I don't care right now Victor. Just go home tonight, and come back tomorrow morning. We have to go look at venues tomorrow remember? And I better hope that neither you nor Yurio are going to be injured. I don't want to have to cancel our plans."

"But why can't I just stay over?" Victor whines, "Yurio and Otabek can go home. I can just spend the night with you."

But Niichan won't have any of it, "If you did, then we would get no sleep, and we would be too exhausted to make the right choice about which venue we want. Then Yurio would probably choose for us. Do you want that? Because I mean if you do I'm all-" Niichan can barely finish what he's in the middle of saying before Victor is sprinting to the door dragging Yurio and Otabek after him. "See you tomorrow Yuri and Kasai!" He says over his shoulder as the run through the gates.

We wave after their receding figures.

I turn to Niichan. "You're such a hypocrite Niichan."

He looks surprised, "Me a hypocrite? How?"

"Wellll... you always say that I need to make sure that I see all of my guests, and other people I know who have come to visit, to the door. But you let Minami out without seeing him out."

Niichan pulls a face, "Well that's because-"

I cut him off, "Because you don't like him right? Because you think that he might be dangerous? Niichan, I've know him since I was 9. If he was a spy from another group, and his feelings toward us aren't genuine, don't you think we would be able to tell?"

"Ya I guess. Wait, what do you mean by his feelings are genuine? Did he confess to you? Are you going out? Why didn't you tell me? Why-"

"Goodnight Niichan." I say sighing. Really why is he like this. It's not like he's my dad or anything. I start heading to my room. Niichan follows.

"Kasai where do you think you're going. I swear if you are going to sneak off to see the boy, you will never get past me. So don't-"

"Niichan. Good. Night. I'm going to my room, and then going to bed, then probably to sleep. And then I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night, hop into the cab and fly to Hawaii so I can live the rest of my life Hula dancing. Now, Good. Night." I get to my door.I Look over my shoulder, smile, then shut the door firmly.

I hear him sigh. "Goodnight Kasai. Just remember..."

I half expect him to say, 'just remember, don't sneak out because I'll track you down. Even if it is to Hawaii'

Instead he says, "just remember... I love you."

There's a pause.

"I love you Niichan. Now you better go to sleep so you can wake up early and check out wedding venues. Goodnight."

I hear a small chuckle outside my door. "Goodnight." I hear his footsteps padding down the hallway, and then I fall backwards onto my bed.

I pull out my phone, and smile when I see a message from Minami.

I had a great time today!!! I was wondering if we could go somewhere tomorrow?

Quickly I text back:

Sorry, but I have to go check out wedding venues with my Niichan... but I guess if we happen to bump into each other at The Castle by coincidence, it would be great.

After I reply I hop onto Instagram and scroll through my feed, screenshotting some Memes so that I can send them to my friends later.

I get the notification that I got a message from Minami. I click on it.

I guess it would be great if our paths just happened to collide while we just so happen to be at the same place at the same time... how peculiar would it be if I were to see you at The Castle tomorrow at...what time?

I smile. If Niichan saw these texts, I hope it would appear that we totally did not plan out us meeting. Its a good thing he ended up giving me my phone back.

Well it appears that I'll be there at 8. 

I suppose that if there was a chance we did meet, you could spend the rest of the day with us... that is if you are free, and if by chance we meet at The Castle at 8.

He replies almost right away.

I guess it would be weird if I saw you at The Castle at 8 tomorrow. After all, of all the places I could be tomorrow at 8 what are the chances of me being at the same place you are at. I guess it would appear to be impossible to see you tomorrow, so I must bid the lovely lady goodnight, and sweet dreams.

When I read the last part I tense up a bit... yaaaa for sure I'll have sweet dreams. Sweetly sick dreams. I crinkle my nose looking back at the coin on my bedside table. I plug my phone in to charge, and hug my pillow to my chest.

I really hope that Seung Gil Lee can hurry up and make that tea for me... I hate the fact that I can't embrace the blissful silence and rest of sleep anymore... I feel my eyelids start to droop.

No I won't fall asleep yet... my head starts feeling light... no I need to fight the urge to sleep. I try to sit up, but my body feels lethargic, and my eyes close, and my subconscious surfaces, and I feel as if I am being pulled under really fast.

I hold my breath. It's as if I'm being dragged backwards through water. I'm afraid that if I open my mouth to take a breath, I would find no oxygen to take in.

I can normally hold my breath for 3 min, and as those 3 min at coming to an end, I close my eyes, and clench my muscles, and take a breath in, expecting to draw nothing, but once I open my mouth and inhale, the world starts to spin. From the inside of my eyelids I can tell that there is a blinding light before me.

Suddenly the spinning stop.

"Welcome back~"

I hear the voice, and tense up even more, and slowly open my eyes.

There I am leaning back on that damn couch, with Hooded Figure standing behind me, leaning over the couch so that his face is hovering above of me... well his face hidden in the shadow of his hood.

I groan.

"That excited to see me?"

I ignore him, and just lie face down on the couch.

"What are you doing."

I continue to ignore him, and arrange the couch cushions to act like a pillow.

"Hello?~" he asks coming around the couch, and crouching in front of me.

I roll the other way so that he's at my back, "If I can't sleep, and have to be trapped in this stupid dream world, then at least I should be able to sleep here dreamlessly. Then I can at least find my comfort of sleep somewhere. Shut up and let me dream of dancing in Hawaii. Good night."

I hear him chuckle behind me. "Really... you never cease to baffle me... you're interesting you know."

"Cool, I get told that every day. Now can you please shut up so I can sleep."

"You get told that you're amazing everyday!? By who?"

"Myself."

He snorts. "Wow you're soooo cool. I mean look at you. Someone invites you over to have fun, and what do you do? Steal their couch, and pillows, and go to sleep? Would you like a blanket too? I mean I even made some tea because I'm expecting you, and you don't even want to talk. I'm telling you tea and food... FOOD."

"Stop trying to tempt me with food. Didn't anyone ever tell you not to take food from strangers?" I say still lying down. 

There is an awkward silence. "But what kind of food is it?..." I ask.

"Pizza."

I sit up slowly... "Pizza?..."

"Yep, Pizza and I also made ice cream sandwiches."

I turn around. "Never mind. No one can ever say no to those two foods. At least there is no white van." I know that I shouldn't take food from this guy, let alone be 'friendly' with him... but I mean, come on, pizza and homemade ice cream sandwiches? How can anyone say no to that?

"Well no one would want to kidnap you anyways."

"Are you being rude? Pick on someone you're own size. Or at least age. I think that plenty of people would want to kidnap me... but they don't try because they know they'll never succeed."

"You know I'm only a year older than you." I look at him open mouthed. He continues, "I know I look big, but that's just the way I appear to people under this robe. I stuff it with padding so that I appear bigger than I actually am. It's useful when you want to intimidate someone... and when I need to be smaller to sneak around. I simply take away the padding. So now I'm telling you to go eat some pizza, and then we can have some fun."

"Intimidating people...Sneaking around... for what?" I ask.

"Now, that's a secret." he says getting up, and going to through a door, that defiantly wasn't there last time. He comes back with a pizza. I can start to feel the drool coming down my mouth. The smell of an open oven roasted pizza is the best.

I pull a slice out, and he hands me a plate. I bite into it. The cheese is so stringy. Ugh... I love Pizza! I accidentally drop some tomato sauce on myself, and reach across the table to grab a tissue

"Well actually my Niichan, and this other guy think I'm cool and amazing. So there I'm not that lame."

Suddenly I feel his aura intensity 10 fold. Slowly I turn to face him, tissue in hand. I know from all my lessons that when someone emits this sort of aura... never turn your back to them. That way you can see what is coming.

His eyes gleam in a harsh cold way, and his hands at his side are clenched. I see a whisper of black smoke being emitted. I know better that to ask what's going on. Instead I stay silent, waiting, watching.

Finally he speaks, "What boy? What boy tells you are amazing everyday?" He says in a voice of silent cold anger.

I watch him confused for a minute... cautiously I begin, "Well he says it as a joke..." I gauge his reaction, but there is none, "we always joke around, and tease each other. Like we just were. We say it sarcastically to each other. Like: WOOOOooooWw you're soooOOOoo amazing."

His fist starts to unclench. Looks like I said what he wanted to hear.

He sits down cooly, and takes a slice of pizza. I continue to watch him warily wiping away the sauce. Just because he looks calmer, it doesn't mean that he actually is.

"And it's not like this guy likes you or anything." he says after he finishes his slice, wiping his fingers on a tissue.

I blush a little bit. I can't help it. I don't look him in the eyes I try to find something to say.

Finally I look up at him, "No I'm pretty sure that he doesn't like me... I'm pretty sure he thinks that I'm just like a little sister."

"Soooo..." he pauses, "the guy doesn't like you... but" he reaches over, and raises my chin so that he can study my reaction as he continues, " you like him."

My eyes quickly break the eye contact, and I try to hide the blush.

His aura is suddenly enflamed again, although I didn't say anything. No doubt he didn't even need to hear the answer to know what it would be.

"I hope you know that if you ever get into a romantic relationship with that boy, I will kill both you and him. Remember that. Especially if it's that boy. I've been watching you, and I know who were talking about. It's Minami isn't it? " He says getting off the couch.

"Who the hell do you think you are ch-" he's instantly in front of me.

"You're mine. You're just like me, so we should share the same fate." He says placing his hand on my shoulder, and squeezing it hard.

I wince.

"I think that tonight has been quite enough... I'm not in the mood to play tonight."

He waves his hand. A coin forms in my hand, then he smiles and waves. "Just remember." He drags his finger across his neck, and then he disappears.

I jolt upright in my bed. I'm clutching the coin.

I flip back into my back, and take some time to slow my breathing. Finally I sit up, and place the coin next to the other one.

I pick up my phone, and see the message:

Oh, by the way, love you nerd

I clench my phone to my chest... I didn't even get an ice cream sandwich... but that should be the least of my worries... but It's not like I'm going to be in a relationship with Minami anytime soon.
