I've never seen Akihiko afraid... that is, until now.

It was really weird seeing him retreat as far away from the door as possible, visibly shaking. Although I haven't known him for a long time, he has never struck me as someone who would be afraid of anything... I mean what could possibly make him so afraid?

Then I hear the footsteps, the heels clicking, the purposeful and looming presence that I hear and feel coming towards us...Maybe the better question is would could possibly make him so afraid?

I slowly back away as well. This presence is overwhelming... nothing like I've ever felt before. The footsteps stop outside the door, and slowly the handle turns. 

In strolls, a tall, willowy thin girl. She looks around my age, but she seemed a lot more mature. She's also a head taller than me. Her raven hair is gelled back tight, into a taught, bun. Her small pointed nose peaks from her face. Her face, pale as a white sheet, and the expression on her face looks as if she but into a bitter lemon. But I bet if she had a more relax expression on her face, she would be beautiful. Her eyed, voided of colour are grey and colourless. It's as if all the colour that should have been in her eyes were drained and put into her vibrant lips. Her ruby red lips look as if they have no need for any red lipstick, they were already the perfect shade of red...the colour of blood. She has a small mole right above the right side of her face, giving her character... She is a strong, tall, independent, dark beauty.

She looks around, somewhat distastefully as she pulls off her black elbow length silk gloves.

"Where is my tea?"

Instantly, Akihiko who was standing next to me isn't beside me anymore. It seemed as if he simply appeared by her side, holding a teapot and cup, as she makes her way to the sofa. She lays her gloves carelessly on the coffee table. And he stands next to her, pouring her a cup of tea. 

Akihiko's hands are shaking slightly as he hands her the tea. He is shaking so bad that some tea, sloshes out of the full teacup, and lands on the carpet near her red velvet heels. He looks terrified. He sets the tea down. Instantly, she reaches her hand up for Akihiko's hair, grabs a handful of it, and drags his head down to her mouth.

"Watch what you are doing. These shoes are new. Nobody wants a beast to ruin their new shoes." She hisses into his ear and then lets go of his hair.

Akihiko straightens up when she let go of his hair, trying to back away, but she raises a perfectly shaped eyebrow. She holds her hand up expectantly, and Akihiko hesitates but lowers his head. She arches her hand back, and brings it down swiftly on the back of Akihiko's head, causing the sound of the smack to echo around the room.

I'm taken aback. Who is this person to make Akihiko so afraid, and be able to hit him so easily...a person who looks no older than me has clearly made Akihiko submit to her. Akihiko stays in his bowed position, and the lady smirks, and sits back after grabbing her tea from the coffee table.

She lifts the cup to her lips, with her pinky out. "Always give your guests tea Akihiko."

"Yes, Madame Lilith."

"And that means in a cup. Do not pour it on them."

"Yes, Madame Lilith."

I snigger a little bit, remembering the time I poured tea on Akihiko. How could I not? It was hilarious.

Bad move.

Madame Lilith turns her head towards me. I should have kept my mouth shut.

She smiles... a cold, calculating, frosty smile.

"Ah, and Kasai, come take a seat." She pats the space on the couch next to her.

I'm taken aback a little at the fact that she knows my name...I hesitate, she's dangerous... dangerous enough to even make Akihiko afraid, but it's not like I have a choice. I know if I do something that she doesn't like... something bad will happen.

I probably hesitated too long for her liking because she says sweetly, "Take a seat or I will chop a pinky off your precious Niichan, and feed it to you raw."

I immediately take a seat.

"There we are." She practically coos, reaching for me, "are you comfortable."

I don't dare do anything other than nod my head.

"Good." She placed a hand under my chin, so she could study my face. She uses her other hand to brush my hair out of my face.

I want to say something, but I bit my lip. She'll probably punish Niichan if I say anything.

She chuckles. "Nervous are we?"

I don't say anything, but she continues to caress my head, running her hand through my hair.

"Don't be nervous dear. There is nothing to be afraid of. I just came here to introduce myself." She motions to herself, "this is Lilith, and I am." She says pointing to her head, "Mother."

I'm confused.., and I must look it. She just referred to herself as two people... so is she Mother or Lilith or both?...How can she be two people at the same time?

Mother... or Lilith? Well whoever laughs at my confusion as she gets up off the couch.

"You look confused dear, but it's okay. Akihiko can explain. I'd love to stay to explain everything to you dear, but I just came to introduce myself. I have an appointment that I need to attend."  she says as she rises from the couch, and walks over to her gloves.

"It's not with my Niichan is it?" I asked afraid that I upset her in some way, and she is now going to punish him because I did something wrong. If that ever happened... I would never, ever, forgive myself.

"No dear, you have done nothing wrong... yet. But I look forward to the time when we will be working together, and if you become my new favorite, your Niichan will be spared. I may even let him go. I hope that we will be seeing each other soon, you're such a pretty girl... and smart... and useful." She smiles, "And oh, I would love to see your natural hair colour. It would be wonderful to have one gray-haired person who isn't a disappointment." She finishes while pulling on her gloves.

And with that, she exits.

Hello lovely human beans~

How was the chapter? How do we all feel about Lilith? Any theories to her character?

Sadly, I don't think it is until chapter 22 until we pick up from where this chapter leads off...
