Kasai

I take a deep breath in, and quickly slide the classroom door open. Better to just rip the bandaid off quickly. I step in, and look around. He's not here... wow that bandaid didn't hurt at all. But I made sure to be exactly on time today. To come right as class starts... Is he not coming today? How did he convince his parents to let him stay at home? Niichan insisted that I go to school today. Make sure that I "make it look like the whole thing didn't bother me". I didn't tell Niichan the whole story. Just that Minami confessed to me, and I rejected him.

"Hey are you going to stand in the doorway all day?" I hear a voice behind me drawl casually behind me.

I twist my head. "Oh Minami!" I sputter, "Ya... I mean No. I'm not going to stand in the door all day. You know that would be weird. Like it's almost time for the lesson to start. Are you going to stand there?...Umm... hey. How are you?" I say all in a rush panicking a little bit.

He laughs a light laugh. "I'm good... Ya, good." He runs his hand through his hair and scratches the back of his head. I can see the bags under his eyes. What a liar.

"Ummm... good." I mumble. "So ummm..."

"Let's go sit down." We say at the same time.

"Um... er-" we do that awkward thing when we try to get out of the way, but just end up even more in the way.

I let him past me. We do the awkward laugh. "Well... you go first."

He does a little smile, and walks past me. I walk back to my window seat. And slump into my chair... well it's going to be a great day.

It's lunch... and normally I eat lunch with my group of friends and Minami... but, will it be really awkward if Minami and I end up eating with each other. We have different classes before lunch, and normally meet at our normal spot... but I suck it up, and head over to our normal spot... it's not like I can avoid him forever. I pull out my bento box from my bag, and head over to our spot, which is outside underneath the cherry tree.

The triplets are already there, but there is no sign of Minami. I sit down with them, and unpack my bento box. The rest of my friends come... but no Minami... lunch comes to and end, and Minami is a no show... I wonder where he is. I ask Axel who was with him in the class before lunch, if she saw him... but she said the he left right after the class ending murmuring about something about needing to go home for a family emergency.

I look down my phone... it's weird that he didn't text me anything about it. Oh ya... that's right. After what happened last night. I probably won't be having any more texts from him.

I end up going to my friends house after school, wanting to forget everything that happened last night. We go out to a movie and dinner, then just hang around her house... mostly just sharing memes, and watching youtube videos together.

Eventually I come back home at 8 because first of all, it's a school night, and secondly Niichan does not let me out by myself past 8, because someone might want to "kidnap me, and use me as a weapon".

As I'm heading in, Niichan is saying bye to Victor. Niichan places a kiss on Victor's left cheek, then nose, then right cheek, and Victor smile, and kisses Niichan back on the lips. I try to slip past them as quietly as I can so they can concentrate on each other... and because I really don't want to be confronted by Niichan... but they catch me anyways.

"Kasai! Come over and say bye to Victor!" Niichan calls. Obediently I go over.

I bow in front of Victor. "Bye Victor! Thanks for treating Niichan so well, and I hope you continue to do so."

He ruffles my hair. "You betcha! Thanks for saying bye to me."

"And thanks for seeing me out! I'll call you tonight okay." He says to Niichan. Niichan nods his head. Victor continues, " Make sure you call me before you sleep. I want to hear your voice before I sleep."

Niichan blushed a little. "Ya for sure." Victor pulls Niichan in to a hug, and places a kiss on the top of Niichan's head.

"Bye I guess..." Victor says pulling away. "I'll talk to you later." He says waving and winking.

Niichan sighs, and stands by the gate watching Victor's receding figure.

"Why isn't he staying the night?" I ask as Niichan moves to close the gate.

We turn to head inside. "He has to go to a meeting tonight at 9."

We walk in silence back into the compound. "Do you need help cleaning up?" I ask as Niichan heads to the living room.

"Sure that would be great!" Niichan nods.

I follow him in, and help him clean up.

I find a jacket, and instantly know it's Victor's... after all it's Gucci.

"Hey Niichan, this is Victor's right?" I hold up his jacket.

He comes over. "Ya it is. I'll give it to him tomorrow." He reaches for the jacket. He feels the pocket. "Oh no... that's his phone."

Niichan gets up. "I need to go give this to him. He probably needs it in his meeting."

I get up too. "I laugh, it's more like he needs it to call you later. But I'll come with you."

"Are you sure?" Niichan asks.

"Ya it's cool." I say getting up. I brush myself off, and shrug. Well... I don't have anything better to do, and I need to get my mind off of things.

"Okay we'll leave as soon as I'm done writing this note." he says.

We head out of the compound, and I'm walk down a street, with Niichan. The pulsating light from the street lights guiding our way. The shadow that are cast seem eery, reaching out dark fingers as if to grab me. I shiver... this seems oddly familiar... but from where

We're walking to Ice's compound. I can tell because I can see Chihoko practically glowing down the street. Victor had taken it down from the local temple, and put it right outside the compound. For what reason one may ask?... well, we don't talk about that day. But let's just say it's a dominance symbol.

As Niichan and I draw closer, I sense movement. A small black figure dashes across the flickering light cast by the street lights.

"It's... It's just a squirrel... " I tell myself, forcing myself to relax because I tensed up when I first saw the flickering.

As we pass an ally way, a pale hand suddenly shoots out and grabs Niichan. Before he can cry, a cloth is placed over his mouth, and he collapses on the ground. 

I should have known that would happen... everything is happening just like it did in that dream! Before I can cry out, I am enveloped in a dark flame. Now usually I don't burn thanks to my abilities, but this time, I can feel my skin heating up, I can smell myself burning, my mouth quickly running dry. I find myself unable to scream, my throat is so dry... and I know who's behind this...

Hello lovely human beans~

I apologize... I feel like the first part of the chapter was boring/dry... But did anybody guess what was going to happen at the end? Or did they kinda remember the dream sequence?
