The next morning Yugi woke up wrapped safely in Atem's arms. He smiled and nudged Atem to wake up, but Atem just groaned and went back to sleep. Since he couldn't get out of the embrace, Yugi did the next best thing. He leaned up and kissed Atem in the lips. Atem woke up as he felt Yugi kiss him and kissed back. When Yugi felt Atem kiss back, he moved away. Then he heard Atem chuckle.

"I wouldn't mind waking up like that from now on" Atem said.

"Don't push it" Yugi growled.

"Aw what is wrong, Aibou" Atem complained.

"*sigh* sorry, I lashed out like that. It happens when the DFM comes around" Yugi sighed and gave Atem a chaste kiss on the lips, before he got up and took a bath.

When he was done and had gotten changed, Yugi went to the balcony. Atem watched as Yugi went. Then he followed Yugi.

"What's wrong Yugi" Atem asked.

"It sorry. It's just that I don't want you to really see me like that. It is hard to control my negative emotions when it is close to the DFM" Yugi said looking down sadly.

Atem walked up behind Yugi and grabbed his wrist. Then he pulled Yugi to his chest, so Yugi's back was against his chest. Then Atem wrapped his arms around Yugi's waist, and put his chin on top of Yugi's head, as they looked out the balcony.

"Don't worry, I will always be here for you, and I know you would never hurt me. And besides I like messing around with your dark side" Atem said.

"Yeah, okay" Yugi sighed.

Then suddenly both their stomachs growled. They pulled away and looked at each other. Then they looked away quickly and blushed in embarrassment.

"Um, we should go get some breakfast" Atem insisted.

"Yeah, um let's go" Yugi said still looking down.

They both walked down the corridors and went to the dinning hall. When they got there, everyone was watching them.

"What" Atem growled.

"Nothing, nothing, but Um why are you guys blushing" Seto chuckled.

"We had a good moment, and our stomachs growled" Atem mumbled.

The others, except Malik, Joey, Ryou, and Yugi, laughed out loud. When they stopped laughing, they turned to look at the four boys. Yugi, Malik, Joey, and Ryou all had serious faces. They all began to worry.

"Joey, what's wrong" Seto asked worriedly.

Joey didn't answer as he started to close his eyes.

"Malik, what's going on" Marik asked.

Malik didn't answer either as he began to close his eyes.

"Ryou, what is happening" Bakura asked.

Ryou didn't answer and closed his eyes.

"Yugi what is going on" Atem asked worriedly.

Yugi didn't answer as well, and closed his eyes.

Everyone began to worry. Then in a few seconds the boys opened their eyes. They were slots, but they blinked and their eyes went back to normal. They looked at the others, to see that they all looked worried.

"Yugi what happened and why did your eyes change" Atem asked worriedly.

"Oh sorry Atem, we didn't mean to worry you" Yugi smiled " and our eyes changed for a while because it is almost close to the DFM. And we had serious faces because, we could sense them" Yugi said.

"Who's them" Atem asked.

"Demons" Yugi said.

"They are close to entering Egypt 's borders" Joey said.

"What!? Seriously!?" Seto exclaimed.

"How can you guys sense them, when we are far away" Bakura asked amazed.

"Our senses are heightened, so it makes it easier to sense what is near or far" Ryou answered.

"Wow that is so cool" Marik said.

"Yeah so are your features going to change at random moments until the Demonic Full Moon" Atem asked.

"Yes but it will only happen in the mornings. When it happens our senses become more sensitive, and you will see flashes of our changes" Yugi answered.

"Oh okay" Atem said.

"So speaking of darker selves, you guys never really did tell us about your legends" Bakura stated.

"Oh yeah, can you guys tell us" Marik asked.

"Um o-" Yugi was interupted by Mokuba.

"Can I tell it pleeaassee" Mokuba begged with the puppy eyes.

"Sure, squirt. Go ahead" Joey said.

Everyone turned to Mokuba.

"But I can't tell it here. Let's go to the thrown room" Mokuba said.

They all nodded and went to the throne room. Once they got there, Mokuba called Mana. When Mana got there, they were all waiting patiently.

"Okay" Mokuba said as he stood in front if everyone.

He snapped his fingers and Mana used her magic to make them surrounded by darkness. Then Mokuba's voice became mysterious.

"In the deep depths of the Death Realm there was a black council. This council consisted of four people. They were known across the universe and other realms for their power. It is said they are the dark gods of the night, and can and will punish those who are evil. These beings are known to be cruel and cold-hearted to those who have black souls. They are also known as the dark protectors." Mokuba said.

"The oldest was known to bring Misery and Lonliness to evil people. He makes those who are evil realize their miserable life and make them become alone in a dark and cruel world. He goes around in the night to seek out the lives of cruel people. He is also second in command of the Death Realm. His title is The High Priest of Misery and Lonliness."

"The second oldest was known for bringing Nightmares and Fear into everyone's lives. He is the one who gives you terrible dreams and feeds off of the fear you create. His nightmares can cause death, if it is too horrifying. The feat you create will only make him stronger. He is known as the General of Nightmares and Fear."

"The third oldest is known to bring Torture and Pain onto the world. He has many ways into torturing people without killing them. He doesn't even have to touch you to make you feel pain. They say when he uses his powers on you, you feel like your body is being torn apart and yet it isn't. He is known as the General of Torture and Pain."

"The Youngest is lown to bring Death and Chaos. His powers surpass the others' powers combined. He has killed thousands who dare to harm what is his. He is also known to cause chaos in many places. He does this to protect the ones he cates about. He is known as the King of Death and Chaos."

"Together these four ate known as the black Council. But it is also said that they protect their lovers more. They are very possessive when it comes to their lovers. And those who harm them never live to see day light again." Mokuba finished and then they were surrounded by light once again.

"Wow so those are the legends" Atem asked.

"Yup" Yugi said.

"Is it true that you guys are very possessive and protective in your darker selves" Seto asked.

"Yes" the four answered together.

The others gulped.

After they heard the legends, the group decided to handle some trials. But after a few trials Ryou and Yugi decided to go to one of the public gardens. They all decided to eat dinner. Bakura and Atem left the group to go find Ryou and Yugi, though. When they got to the gardens, however, they only saw Ryou.

"Ryou where is Yugi" Atem asked.

"He went to the oasis, to the stables just a few seconds ago" Ryou answered.

"Thank you" Atem said, and he started running to the stables.

When he got to the stables he saw Yugi petting his horse, Timaeus. He walked up to Yugi, and he noticed him.

"Hello Yugi" Atem smiled.

"Hey Atem, what are you doing here" Yugi asked.

"I was gonna check on you" Atem said as he looked at the basket in Yugi's arms "where are you going, and what's in the basket"?

"I was gonna go to a place that is a secret and eat dinner, but if you wanna come you can. There's enough for both of us" Yugi said.

Then Atem started walking slowly to him.

"B- But if you d-dont want to i- it's okay" Yugi stuttered as he backed up a little, but was stopped by a horse behind him.

When Atem was only a few inches away, he took Yugi's knuckles and chuckled. Yugi blushed deeply.

"Of course I'll join you" Atem said as he pulled away and got on Timaeus.

When he was fully settled on Timaeus, he pulled Yugi up in front of him on the horse. Yugi was sitting on the front with both of his legs dangling in the right, his hands curled into balls on Atem's torso, and his head on Atem's chest, while Atem had his arms around Yugi and his hands on the reigns.

"So where to" Atem asked.

Yugi helped guide Atem to the Nile river. When they got there Atem and Yugi got off Timaeus, and walked near the river, with Timaeus following behind them ant least 10 feet away.

"So where is this secret place" Atem asked.

"Follow me" Yugi giggled.

Yugi lead then to a cave in a cliff. Then they went inside, but Yugi held Atem's hand, while Atem used his free hand to pull the reigns on Timaeus. They went deeper into the cave until they saw an opening. When they walked through the opening Atem gasped. There was a beautiful deep blue pond, with lilies. There were also fireflies. Next to the pond was a tree that had a carving in it. Atem walked up to it and read it.

It said:

Love is truly a blessing. The one I love is kind, courageous, and handsome. He is non other than my Yami, Pharoah Atem, himself. He is the darkness to my light. Without him I would be tainted too much by the light. He is the oxygen to my world. Without him I suffocate in this cruel world. Without him, my life has no meaning.

Atem looked to Yugi with a shocked gaze, but then he smiled warmly to Yugi. He slowly walked up to Yugi and cupped his cheek. Yugi leaned into Atem's hands and smiled as he slowly closed his eyes, and hummed in delight. Then Atem closed his eyes slowly as he leaned down and kissed Yugi passionately. Yugi opened his eyes in shock, but then slowly slid them closed as he kissed Atem back. When they pulled away, Atem was still holding Yugi's cheek. He looked deeply into Yugi's eyes and saw a very deep love for him. Yugi was also looking Atem in the eyes and saw so much emotion in them.

"I love you too, my Yugi" Atem said as he pulled Yugi into a warm embrace.

Yugi wrapped his arms around Atem's waist and hugged back. When they pulled away, Yugi held Atem's hand and lead him to a blanket with food already set up. After they ate, Atem got up and went back to the tree, with a knife in his hand, and began to carve into it. Once Atem was done, Yugi walked over to him and read the carving Atem made.

It said:

Love is a miracle. I have searched for the one for a long time, and now I have him. I have my precious Hikari, King Yugi, himself. He is the light to my darkness. Without him I would be lost in the dark forever. He is the reason I live. I will always protect him, even if it costs my life.

Yugi cried tears of happiness and jumped into Atem's arms. He was so happy.

"Yugi, why are you crying" Atem asked worriedly.

"I'm just so happy" Yugi cried out.

He smiled at Atem, his eyes closed with tears sliding down his face as he grinned. Atem smiled and hugged Yugi once again. Then they went back to Timaeus and rode him back to the palace. When they got there, they put Timaeus back into the stables, and went to there room. When they got there, they both lied on the bed in each others' embrace.

"I love you, Yugi" Atem said.

"I love you, too, Atem" Yugi said.

They both snuggled one more rime before sleep took over and they both fell asleep with content smiles on their faces.
