Chapter 31

The suspense is deafening. Slowly the reflections of people disappear with their every turn. His eyes search for no one but the keeper of his weary heart. But with exhaustion and hopelessness comes acceptance of the truth. He awaits the impossible. He has been chased away from the comfort of his own home to live with a bunch of losers because of his helplessness. There's nothing he can do about it.

Carrie is near to giving birth and Kevin, like what the fuck, I'm going to miss that guy. At least I did say my goodbyes. This did not make sense to him at all. He had his own money and was capable of taking Carrie with him to the ends of the world except to their distant parents' house. He really hates this place. Airport. Every time he was here it reminded him that he was away from home and this time he was going to be, forever. It looks the same in his eyes. Hundreds of passengers caring nothing about anyone sitting next to them.

"Sorry ma'am you dropped this." He runs slowly to the lady that passed in front of him a few seconds ago. He handed over a small shoe to which he was requested to put on the the baby on her back and walked away. Carrie could not care less about leaving, she wanted her man who she was crying in his arms. Young love destroyed and hindered at blossom.

"This is the final call to passengers boarding flight B068 to Johannesburg. Please proceed urgently to gate 10." The call stops and Jayden lets go of Carrie. She does not want to but has to and immediately walks over to Toby still watching the entrance with restless eyes.

"Toby we have to go," she says pulling him up from his chair.

"Olivia has to be here. I want her here."

All the other passenger proceeded to the gate with ease and without delay. There was no time to sit and wait around anymore. They had to go. Jayden went over to Toby to bid his best friend/ favorite sport star goodbye and apologized for his disappointed hopes. He turned to Carrie again and kissed her goodbye. This was their first and maybe the last kiss they would have one mind thought.

"Okay lets go."

"Carrie lets wait for the next flight, maybe she will come then," suggested Toby desperately.

"Dude there aren't any flights for Johannesburg until tomorrow. You know we can't go home for they will kill us. I'm sorry big bro but she ain't coming." Carrie watched the gate and saw the final two passengers check-in with their passports and went into the tunnel leading one to the plane. She pulled Toby by force, tired as a slave and still managed to drag him like an overexcited child after catching a glimpse of a PS4.

"Good morning. Passports and tickets?" he requested acknowledging Toby's anxiousness.

"Sir you alright?" he asked abruptly for they were about to delay the flight.

"I'm good."

They did not always fly in first class. This happened only when with either Mary or Gerald. Still, the convenience was equally the same. They walked into the plane where some passengers sat on their seats and worked on assignments or played some music. A man was trying to fit his bag in the overhead compartment and retired after he was successful. A lady dropped her phone in the ally and asked Toby to pick it up for her because she was being squashed in between other two passengers right next to her on both sides. He was empty inside and resisted any further talk with the lady.

Carrie knew her brother's temper quite well and avoided starting a silly conversation. Without paying attention to anyone, he took Carrie's bags and fitted them perfectly into the compartment and helped her sit slowly, lie back and relax on her seat. She was also in low spirits and quickly texted Jayden I will miss you. Toby's bag was refusing to fit in. Mixed with his anger and frustration he began forcing it in. It was like watching a kid fistfight a stupid pillow. No one was watching so it was a good opportunity to teach his bags a lesson.

"You need help there soldier." Sounded a soothing voice said that quickly sent a man to a different state.

"I would love you too love."
