Y/n was leading Twilight down the hallway as the latter looked basically everywhere. She still wasn't used to seeing all the ponies she knew in Equestria as humans. It was so weird for her.

Y/n: "Alright, so now we have to figure out how to get everyone to vote for you as princess. I seriously don't want to be Sunset's 'prince'."

Twilight: "Yeah. From how Applejack was describing her, she's just as bad if not worse than I thought."

Y/n: "Yeah, and you don't even know the half of it."

Twilight: "I don't think I want to."

Y/n: "Good choice."

This response made Twilight giggle a bit before noticing how little Y/n was affected by it. That's when she grew curious about something and decided to ask.

Twilight: "Hey, Y/n?"

Y/n: "Hm?"

Twilight: "Who exactly is Pinkie to you? You two seem really close."

Y/n: "If you're insinuating that we're together, we're not. Since you obviously have a Pinkie in your world, you know how boundaries don't matter to her. And how oblivious she is when she speaks her mind."

Twilight: "Oh, yeah. Definitely."

Twilight said as she giggled again, memories of Pinkie Pie flashing through her mind. She then looks at Y/n again to see him smiling just a bit, no doubt thinking of memories as well. However, before Twilight could say anything, she noticed a dark hallway that ended in a dead end. She grows curious.

Twilight: "What happened here?"

Y/n: "Oh, the lights are just broken. But the school won't fix it, for some reason, so everyone just steers clear of it. Which is unfortunate... since it's where my locker is."

Twilight: "Oof. That's gotta suck."

Y/n: "Yep."

Y/n said before sighing, only for a voice to then speak up from behind him and Twilight.

???: "I can't believe I didn't recognize you earlier. Should've known Princess Celestia would send her prized pupil here after my crown. And her little dog, too."

Y/n: "It's not your crown, Shimmer."

Twilight: "It's mine."

Sunset: "Well, would you look at that! Looks like you've included someone here in your little quest, huh? Aren't you that camera boy from yesterday?"

Y/n: "How about we stop all the big talk, and I'll show you what this camera boy can do."

Sunset: "That's still only big talk, but whatever. This is only a minor setback for me. You don't know the first thing about this place, and you got some loser outcast showing you around the school I rule."

Twilight: "If that's true, then why do you need my crown? You went through an awful lot to switch it with the one that belongs here."

Sunset: "Pop quiz. What happens when you bring an Element of Harmony into an alternate world?"

Twilight stopped to ponder the question, only for Sunset to laugh in her face.

Sunset: "You don't know? Seriously? Haha! And you're supposed to be Princess Celestia's star student? Then again, what were the chances she'd find somepony as bright as me to take under her wing after I decided to leave Equestria. Bit embarrassing that you were the best she could do."

Spike nearly leaps out of Twilight's backpack to attack Sunset, but Y/n quickly grabs him and puts him into a bear hug to keep him in place. However, Sunset seemed unaffected by the attempt on her.

Sunset: "Oh, and I'd keep an eye on your 'mutt'. Hate for him to be... taken away from you."

Spike: "Is that a threat?"

Sunset: *sarcastically* "Oh, of course not."

Spike barks at Sunset and growls at her as Y/n tries to keep him away.

Sunset: "But I'd cut down on the chatter if I were you. Don't want everyone to know you don't belong here, now would you?"

She chuckles a bit before turning to Twilight.

Sunset: "You want to be a princess here? Please. Your guide doesn't even have any idea on how to fit in."

And with that, Sunset walked away to leave Y/n, Twilight, and Spike alone in the dark hallway.

Later, Y/n was fuming at how Sunset was talking to him, Twilight, and Spike just earlier. It ticked him off at how condescending and mighty she was towards them.

Y/n: "Ugh! I hate that brat so frickin' much! What right does she have to speak to us like that?"

Twilight: "Uh, you okay? You seem really stressed out over her."

Y/n: "No, I'm not fine. But what choice do I have but to walk away? If she wanted to, she could make up some random garbage that could get me expelled."

Twilight: "She holds so much power here... even without any magic. I'm really sorry that this is what you have to deal with."

Y/n: "It's whatever. I'm used to it..."

He sighs in annoyance, clearly not happy about it. However, that's when he notices the vending machine down the hall and realizes he was still kinda hungry.

Y/n: "Anyway, I'm hungry still. You want something from the vending machine?"

He asks, pointing at it as they approach. However, the princess was confused.

Twilight: "A what machine?"

Y/n: "They hold snacks like bags of chips and cookies in little shelves. You have to pay for 'em, though."

Twilight hummed in thought as they approached it, and she immediately licked her lips once she layed eyes on a pack of fruit and crackers with cheese. She nods, and Y/n nods back, getting out his wallet before someone came from behind.

???: "Excuse me?"

Y/n immediately looked over his shoulder to see Trixie Lulamoon, the school's local wannabe magician. She has a pale blue skin tone, a long bluish gray hair, and purple eyes. She is currently wearing a blue hoodie jacket over a purple dress, blue boots, and a star-shaped hair pin.

Y/n: "Oh, hey, Trixie. You want something, too?"

Upon realizing who she was speaking to, a faint pink tint adorned her face. However, she shook her head to get rid of it before nodding.

Trixie: "Yes, please. THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRRRIXIE... needs some peanut butter crackers."

Both Twilight and Y/n blinked before the latter nodded.

Y/n: "Alright, then. Peanut butter crackers for Trixie, cookies for me... Twilight, fruit cup?"

Twilight nodded in confirmation, and Y/n paid for all three snacks, giving the girls their snacks. Trixie immediately snatched them away and smiled at the (H/C)-haired boy.

Trixie: "Trixie thanks you, dear Y/n! Ta-ta for now!"

And with that, the young magician walked away before scampering away, nearly tripping on her feet before turning the corner. Twilight raised a brow before turning to her human friend.

Twilight: "What was that about?"

He only shrugged.

Y/n: "She's weird. Pay her no mind."

Twilight: "Right..."

Twilight nodded before looking away, her eyes looking down a bit. Which Y/n noticed.

Y/n: "You okay, princess?"

Twilight: *sighs* "Sunset was right... I don't know the first thing about this place. If I really wanna fit in and win votes, we need to do some research!"

Spike pops out from Twilight's backpack.

Spike: "Research?"

Y/n: "We could go to the library? You could look up stuff there."

Twilight's mood immediately brightened as her eyes went wide, almost having a shine to them.

Twilight: "Library?!"

Y/n stands in the entrance to the school library with Twilight by his side, her face basically gushing as she stares at it in wonder.

Twilight: "YES! KNOWLEDGE, HERE I COME!"

She giggles and laughs as she runs inside, making Y/n roll his eyes as he walks in to follow her, unaware of Snips and Snails peeking out from behind the doors as they giggle to themselves.

Meanwhile, Y/n was showing Twilight how to use a computer as he tapped on the keyboard, trying to close some tabs that were previously opened. She was sitting down on the plastic chair as he stood next to her.

Twilight: "So you just press the letters on the little board, and the words and moving pictures show up here?"

She asks, holding up the screen before Y/n pushes it back down.

Y/n: "Yes, Twilight. That's exactly how it works."

On the screen was an old news article depicting a car crash a few years ago. The young man glared at it before he closed that tab as well.

Twilight: "Maybe this place does have magic after all..."

Y/n rolls his eyes in amusement at what she said before he flinches as loud music begins playing. He turns and glares at the three girls at a computer on the opposite side of the library, who were known as Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle.

Aka, the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Odd name if you ask literally anyone.

Also, the librarian almost immediately got on the trio for playing such loud music.

Y/n: "Come on, let's try something else. Books might be easier for you to use right now."

He says, grabbing Twilight's wrist as she was using her knuckles to type on the keyboard. He dragged her out of the chair as she did nothing to fight back.

Twilight: "Oh, okay-"

Later, Y/n was helping Twilight carry a massive pile of books. However, they ended up tripping and falling to the ground, both getting covered by books. He grumbled before noticing Twilight trying to pick one back up with her mouth. He shakes his head and sighs as Spike points it out, and she takes it out with a sheepish smile.

Next, he was showing her how to use the library printer. That didn't end too well since she got flashed by accidentally pressing the activation button, making her stumble and fall backward into some books again.

Eventually, the two found themselves just reading as they sat on opposite sides of a table. Well, Twilight was while Y/n was sleeping. However, that was when the intercoms turned on and announced that the library was closing soon. This made Twilight gasp, making Y/n shoot up and awake.

Y/n: "Wha-?"

Twilight: "I-I hadn't even thought about where we're gonna stay for tonight..."

Y/n: "Huh? Oh... right. Uuuhh... I think I got a place, actually."

Both Twilight and Spike, who peeked out from underneath the table, looked at him.

Twilight & Spike: "You do?"

Y/n: *nods* "Yeah. Come on. Follow me."

He said, motioning with his head for them to follow as he stood up and walked off. The pony princess and dragon from another world looked at each other before they did so, with Spike hopping into Twilight's backpack so as not to get spotted.

Y/n leads them out of the school, making their way down a couple of city blocks and to what looks to be a gated and sealed off area. Twilight looks at the fence gate in confusion before she looks over at Y/n, who walked to a certain part of the fence and pulled it apart to reveal a small opening.

Y/n: "C'mon. And don't worry, it's safe."

Twilight takes a moment but nods as she walks over to him and ducks underneath the gate, and thankfully, without getting her hair caught.

Y/n went under after her, standing back up behind her as the princess from another world looked at what the place was.

Twilight: "What is this place?"

Y/n: "It's an old skate park I used to hang out at when I was a bit younger. Got closed down, but I still come here and hang out by myself when I need some time alone. Even set up the old store to have a place to sleep and stuff."

He explains as he walks towards said store, which was kinda small in size. He holds open the door for her, allowing Twilight to step inside and look around. There were still shelves and hooks holding up various skateboards and merchandise, but most were old and dusty. However, once Y/n flipped the lightswitch, the light revealed that everything was quite neatly arranged. There was a bed with a small table and desk as well, with books of all kinds, papers and pencils, notebooks, and other things scattered about.

Twilight: "And you... did all of this? By yourself?"

Y/n: "Yeah. It makes for a nice getaway when things get stressful or whatever. But you can stay here tonight, I suppose. I'll come get you in the morning."

Twilight: "Do your parents know about this place?"

Y/n stopped for a moment, hesitating to answer before shaking his head.

Y/n: "No. They're... in a better place now, so they wouldn't know. I live with my grandparents."

Both Spike and Twilight's eyes widened at this information as the princess turned to look at Y/n, mouth covered by her hands in shock.

Spike: "Holy crap-"

Twilight: "I'm so sorry, I didn't know-"

Y/n immediately waved it off, cutting her off.

Y/n: "It's fine, I promise. Happened a long time ago. I'm... past it, I guess."

Twilight: "Are-are you sure?"

The young man nods, giving her a reassuring smile.

Y/n: "I'm sure. Just get some rest, okay? You two probably need it after the day you had."

Twilight and Spike look at Y/n for a moment before looking at each other. After a few moments, they turn back to him and nod in understanding.

Y/n: "Great. See you two tomorrow."

And with that, he waved them goodbye and left the small shop, leaving the two dimension hoppers alone as he now made his way back to his own home.
