. . .
I looked up at the sky,
Hues of pink, and lilac being replaced by dark purple, navy blue, and a tint of black painting the sky and clouds.
Stars represented embers of a dying fire.
You joined me in admiring a beautiful scenery,
But instead,
Your eyes were on me.
I let out a breath,
You scooted closer,
Closing the gap between us.
I noticed,
And I started to lose feeling in my cheeks.
I hoped,
You wouldn't notice the pink that had tinted my cheeks.
You smiled,
Leaving no more gaps between us.
Your arms found its way,
Enveloping my waist,
As you bore into my eyes,
Gazing at how the stars reflected in them,
Glistening.
You waited,
A moment or two,
Before inching your face closer to my own,
Placing your lips gently against mine.
My heartbeat picked up its pace as we both closed our eyes,
A galaxy exploding between us as we became one celestial body.
My hands combed through your velvety hair,
One of your hands caressing my cheek as you softly nibbled on my lower lip.
The stars blinked,
Dancing to the same tune,
As the moon's rays illuminated the atmosphere.
You pulled away,
Resting your forehead against mine as you lightly panted.
That night,
We laced our pinkies together,
Making a promise.
That night,
We promised to never leave each other's side.
We promised we'd love each other for eternity.
Even if someone else arrives,
We'd always find a way to get back to each other.
