'Reaper, and what he doesn't want you to know.'

—Your POV—

The following is a completely informative article based on who many would know as Reaper. Also known as Death, Scythe, Doom, and many other creative monikers across the multiverse. While I cannot guarantee it will be completely factual...

Blah blah blah. It's just some long boring two pages of the author explaining the authenticity of the information presented in the story and their sources. Skimming it, you just tell yourself to take everything with a grain of salt and keep it pushing, eager to read more on the dark being this book is all about.

You may know of Reaper as a stalker in the night. One who watches, waits, and then pounces when it is least expected, or least wanted. Perhaps you perceive him to be a malevolent, ill-willed, overpowered being with no sense of morale.

Well... you bit your lip going over the first paragraph. Those other books... they were jarring enough. You didn't need to know Reaper was some homicidal maniac who has taken the lives of millions for nothing but the fun of it. Of course... you don't know how much it'd affect you? Eventually, you guessed you'd have to face the music. You slept in the same house as a bunch of mass murders. Get over yourself.

Then there are others of you, ones who believe he is a peacekeeper, one of good omens. Reaper assures that everyone deserving death ascends, and only takes lives when the time comes. Perhaps immortality might be a curse unto you, a highly taboo and unfortunate kind of happening.

Well, that was just plain wrong... maybe? Skipping the rest of that paragraph, you went a few lines down and read the next one.

If you agree with either of these narratives- or even both, perhaps neither- you are, in some shape or form, correct. Reaper is known to be quite the mischievous god, causing problems in the midst of his boredom. Though, he takes lives only when the time is right, and does not abuse his standing as the god of death. (Anymore.)

You nodded along with this paragraph. He was playfully malicious at times, taking your things, giving you a scare, barging in on you during a bathroom break... ok, he was kind of a jerk. But... you guess that even though he often rolled out death threats, he never delivered any real endings for anyone. The one who'd come closest was definitely Cross. Even the few times Killer did something so obnoxious stupid to Reaper... he would just threaten him and maybe go upside his skull, but... nothing close to as imminent and impending as Cross' near-death felt.

So, one may ask, 'But, ideations aside, is Reaper good or bad?' And the answer, my friends, is neither.

Your brows raise, and your mind draws a blank. ...what? When the book said take everything with a grain of salt... you didn't expect that grain to be a whole carton. This is... interesting information? Maybe you should just read on and hope it doesn't get much less understandable.

Reaper is one of the only neutral forces in the multiverse. Without a counterpart, and with no clear bias on whether or not he is considered a force of good or evil, it is a generally accepted consensus that Reaper is just a necessary force. Without death, things would be thrown into disarray, and with this in mind no one can say if it's evil or pure.

That made... some sense. You reread the paragraph a couple times, wheels turning in your brain as you contemplated the meaning of all this. Not considered good or evil huh? So... so a secret third thing? You briefly wondered how many other 'neutral' gods there were out there... probably not many.

Looking to the bookshelf, you don't see much on anyone outside the twins, Horror and friends, and Ink. There's a small subsection on Blue, you spot a purple book about Lust, a decent section on Fresh, and then... something about a kid named Paperjam?

Well... if Reaper was a neutral power, it made some sense to those questions he was asking on the couch earlier. 'Who all dies?' Everyone, apparently. But you're still kind of miffed as to why he didn't just come out and say it directly. You were loosing it knowing that you didn't get what he was telling you!

Sighing, you snap the book shut. Oh well, more on Reaper later. You need to read up on Nightmare anyways. Peering down at the glossy cover of the book one more time, you note the author's name. 'W.D.G'. Odd. Usually they at least leave a last name or something, the initials weren't really going to get you anywhere unless this guy was mad popular.

Pulling down a book titled 'Nightmare: Wrath Lord.' You can't help but notice this one is by the very same guy. 'W.D.G.' Same curly font, same signature color. Flipping the thing open, you keep the name in the back of your head and start your read.

Once you're past the initial warnings and disclaimers and whatnot, you're intensely glaring down at jumble of symbols on the page. Things like mailboxes and pointing hands. What the hell even is this!? And why is the title and everything else written in a readable language, but not the actual story!

Frustrated, you jam the book back up into the shelves, but... but there's an identical book right next to it. Confused, you try that book, and it's written in a language you understand. Weird? Were there like, multiple copies in different languages? You guess that could've been the case, but could all those symbols even be considered a language?

Brushing off the thoughts and chalking it up to a mistake, you settle back down and crack the book open, ready to read all about everyone's favorite octopus. Hopefully Nightmare wouldn't mind you snooping a bit for some background on him,

Some of you may be wondering, who is the Lord of Negativity and Wrath, and how did he come to be...
