Shu is pulled by Valt and Valt closes the door of his room and goes to his wardrobe to look for a pajama for his new friend.Shu sits down on the bed and looks at the room and Valt hands him a pair of pajamas.

Valt embarrassed - I'm sorry if it's a little small...

Shu - It's nothing, don't worry about it.

Shu takes Valt's pajamas and goes to the bathroom to wash.

After a good twenty minutes Shu comes back and goes down in the living room and sees valt 

drooling in front of the evening meal.

Shu - Avoid drooling like that you are going to be parched.

Valt startles and turns around then looks at Shu by smiling at him.

Valt - My mother makes such good food that it haunts my dreams.

Shu - Oh, that good?

Valt: Yes, but don't you ever eat?

Shu shakes his head - I rarely eat.

Valt: That's why you are all thin.

Shu - You think I'm thin?

Valt: Yes, too much!

Shu looks at the ground and makes a sad face. Valt realizes that he made a mistake.

Valt - Oh, sorry, forgive me!

Shu - It's not your fault, don't worry.

Valt's mother takes the food out of the fireplace.

Mother - Let's eat, boys!

Valt jumps for joy and runs to sit down and Shu moves forward and sits down.

Mother fills their plates and sits down.

All - Enjoy your meal!

They eat with appetite and finish their plate. Valt runs to his room and Shu clears the table then joins Valt.

Valt - Poof! I ate well!

Shu - I see that haha.

Valt looks at him - And did you eat well?

Shu - Yes it was good, very good even.

Valt smiles - Better, that's the main thing.

Shu - Yes.

Valt goes to his bed and starts to fall asleep while Shu is sitting on the floor.

Valt - Are you coming?

Shu - I don't mind sleeping on the floor.

Valt - Maybe, but this is my house so you sleep in my bed.

Shu sighs and gets up then goes towards valt's bed and enters it .

The next day:

Valt is in bed still sleeping while his mother and Shu are downstairs preparing the pastries to sell 

during the day. Once finished Shu goes up the stairs and into Valt's room and shakes his head in exasperation at Valt's Fenian behavior.

Shu shakes him - Get up.

Valt turns around and grumbles softly as he wakes up. Shu sighs and leaves the room and the house.

After a good half hour Valt gets up and goes downstairs and looks at his mother.

Valt - Where is Shu?

Mother - He went out, or I don't know though.

Valt eats and goes to get dressed. Once this task is done, he goes outside but hesitates to go home when he sees the number of children of his age playing ball. Valt takes a long, heavy breath and crosses the village square, but he stops his walk when one of the children calls out to him.

Boy - Well then, we finally decide to get out of his hut.

Valt ignores him which makes the boy angry and throws the ball at him with a lot of force making Valt fall on the pottery stand, breaking everything. The boy moves forward with his troop laughing at Valt who was injured in the hand.

Boy laughed - You are so weak and pitiful, poor thing. You'll never be accepted or even loved by 

anyone. Look at you, you're ugly, poor, and a homosexual. You have nothing to like.

The words of the young man hurt Valt from the deepest part of him, bringing tears to his eyes. He wondered what he had done wrong to deserve all this. The group of children grabbed Valt violently and hit him with punches and kicks. Valt was bleeding and looked at them helpless and weak. The petty faces of the boys became blurred as did the entire landscape and suddenly Valt was in total darkness.
