"I'm  sorry," Michi mutters, not able to look her older sister in the eyes as she fiddles with Sakura's long fur. Drea immediately  looked at Michi in utter surprise. What did her little sister have to be sorry for? It was all on Drea, not on her little sister. 

"Why are you sorry?" Drea asks incredulously and it was Michi's  turn to be confused. All this time she thought Drea blamed her for not saving Aia. That was the reason she never came back home, right? She was the reason Daimen lost two sisters on the same day. She's  the reason the twins never met their favorite  Aunt.  She was the reason Jun left, mom made sure to let her know that everyday until she moved out.

"Michi calm down I know you don't  want your ability to go haywire you're  alright." Saanvi says calmly, tapping  a rhythm on Michi's palm. It was a shared coping mechanism  that they both did on one another tif the other seemed on the edge of having a panic attack. Within a few seconds Michi was tapping with Saanvi taking deeper breaths and letting them out slower.

"Thanks V," she says calmly before  looking to Drea, "You left Drea, you ran away, and it was because  of me," Michi says guiltily and Drea took a breath she left to protect her family. How did Michi not understand she was the problem? 

"Mich I didn't  leave because of you, I left to protect the family," Drea told her calmly, not expecting  a glint to appear in Michi's  eyes as she looked at Drea with a now somewhat angry look. Drea had no idea what happened after.

"Your leaving, shattered what was left of our family," Michi says sadly remembering the way Daimen used to drink to cope, how Jun turned colder to her, how mother worked longer and longer until she was barely home at all. She herself was a nervous wreck; she couldn't  go to the woods anymore and she had blamed  herself for the falling apart of the family, and the death of her younger sister. 

"Wait what, how?" Drea asks in genuine confusion and Michi's  eyes are saddened , still thinking  about everything that happened after Aia's death. How life had flipped on its  axis, and how even though she and Daimen had worked past their demons the scar was still there.

"Drea you left the night after the accident,  and never returned, we checked everywhere  for you but could never find you. Whenever we went to the police they said your whereabouts were unknown. After weeks of searching and coming up with no leads , a change started in our family. Daimen started drinking, he thought it could numb the pain, Jun closed off and soon moved to Japan, and Mother was barely ever home." Michi says not looking  up until she finished talking  to find Drea  gaping at her.

"Daimen… started drinking, it's  been eight and a half years… Did he ever stop, is he okay?" Drea asks trying  to find the right words and Michi just nods slowly, Daimen was thriving now he had his own cafe, a wife and twin children.

"Yeah after a hospital incident I pretty much made sure he couldn't  get anymore nor did he want to be like that again." Michi says with a slight grimace. "He's  happy now, he owns his own cafe, he and his wife had twins that are now eight." Michi says with a smile at thinking of her two troublemakers.

"Wait, we're  aunts now?" Drea asks and Michi nods, scrolling through her phone to find a picture of the twins, and then handing  it to Drea. She looks at the photo and smiles, "They look like little troublemakers," Drea comments and Michi nods,

"They are, well, more like Danny is and Molly gets dragged into it, but still." Michi says with a light eye roll. "You do not know how many times I've  seen Danny in the hospital. He was worse than you when you were young and that is saying something ." Michi says and Drea sent her a playful glare

"I take offense to that, how's Thunder?" Drea asks, questioning her younger sister who smiles at the thought of her only constant through the rough time. 

"He's doing well, he missed you,  he eventually  let me ride him alone. We have really bonded since  the whole ordeal. He was my only constant after everything  happened." Michi spoke quietly before  looking  at her pup who was glaring  at her, "That is until I met Sakura and then Tora. I've  had them since I started my job as a surgeon about four years ago." Michi spoke and Drea nodded, heading over to where her younger sister sat before hugging her.

Michi froze, not knowing how to react at all. She took a deep breath bidding her ability away as she gently hugs back. She had missed this a little bit, but at the same time she didn't do hugs at all. She tenses even more when she feels tears running down her lab coat. Her older sister, the one she thought of as invincible, was crying on her. She was the strong one this time, and that was fine with her.

"I'm sorry sister, I'm so so sorry." Michi heard in their native language, and Michi sighs petting her older sister's hair just like she Used to. 

"I forgive you. I've done so seven and a half years ago. You'll always be my sister. I miss you and I love you."  Michi replies in the same tongue feeling severely self conscious with her and Drea's best friends there watching this, and she's sure Drea would be too.

After fifteen minutes Drea finally felt brave enough to face everyone again and Michi's cheeks shone pink with the focus being on them. "Well Mich, I think I've learned more about my partner in the last half hour than I have in almost two years." Georgie says quietly and Saanvi nods in agreement. 

"Same with my colleague, she barely even talks half the time," Saanvi spoke playfully, nudging Michi with a soft look in her eye. Michi offers a weak smile as she returns the nudge. Drea just eyes Michi her getting along with anyone was a miracle she was such an introvert so she was glad that Michi found a friend.

That's when the pink flecks glow brightly again and Michi groans knowing that it meant a passenger was injured, and that she had to get going. "I hate to leave D, but a passenger needs my help, if you need anything at all just give me a call." Michi says and Drea nods slightly sad that her sister had to leave so soon.

"Okay be careful Michi," Drea says and Michi nods slowly, both hugging one last time and Michi gives a smile before grabbing her medical bag. 

"You do the same," Michi replies and Drea nods before Michi heads out her pets following behind, but before she leaves completely she looks to Georgie. "Take care of her." She mutters and Georgie nods with a reassuring smile.

Drea did the same with Saanvi looking at her hopefully. "Take care of her, Saanvi." Drea spoke and the nervous researcher nodded looking back at the door.

"Don't worry, we take care of each other. Now I better go see where we are heading." Saanvi replies and Drea nods, watching them go.  Georgie just came up beside Drea and nudged her.

"So what else should I know?" Georgie asks playfully, wiggling her eyebrows and Drea scoffs, shaking her head. Georgie just chuckles a little. "I'm just kidding, come on, let's go check on Eden." Georgie says and heads down the hall Drea just follows for once feeling like there is not a burden on her shoulder.
