Chad
Typical. I did a few things to make the villain kids hate me and now I have to watch over one.
I have to admit though, Mal does look cute when she's asleep.
Mal started to stir. She looked at me.
"Where's Ben?" She asked.
"He went with Audrey for a walk." I responded.
Mal's eyes glowed neon green.
She was silent for a long time until she said "That sounds like me."
"What are you saying?" I asked.
Mal seemed not to hear me.
"What? You two think that I'm a princess? Don't make me laugh!" Mal said. "I'll show you for trying to lie to me!"
Then the neon green faded from her eyes.
"Hey Mal, you okay?" I asked.
"Ugh! Can you believe our friends?" Mal said.
"Why?" I asked.
"They think I'm some kind of princess just because of some fairy tale Audrey's mom told her when she was a child." Mal said.
"What story?" I asked.
"Some story about the princess of light." Mal said.
"Seriously? Audrey and Ben think that you're the princess of light? No offense Mal, but don't make me laugh."
"I know right!" Mal said as her eyes glowed neon green again. "They're coming. Act natural." Then Mal put a fake smile on her face.
"Oh. Mal you're awake!" Ben said once he saw Mal.
"Hey Benny Boo! How are you?" Mal asked, faking innocence.
"Uh, fine. Why are you asking?" Ben asked.
"Oh, nothing. I just want to know why you're lying to me!?" Mal asked, dropping innocence.
Ben looked shocked. "What do you mean?" He asked, clearly nervous.
"Oh, you know, why do you and Audrey think that I'm the 'princess of light'."
Ben looked at me. "Did you but dial me?"
"Oh please. I could hear your lie from outside the castle." Mal said.
Ben and Audrey exchanged a few words as Mal's eyes became neon green once more. Then it faded as if it never happened.
As Audrey reached for her phone, Mal said "I wouldn't do that if I was you."
"Do what?" Audrey asked.
"Text Jane. No matter what you two think, I'm perfectly fine."
I saw Mal's eyes go neon green, and this time I'm positive that Ben saw it.
"What does Jane need to tell Jay?" Mal asked.
"Nothing." Audrey lied.
"No, I know that you want Jane to tell Jay something, so just tell me. Not like you guys can hide it from me anyway." Mal countered.
"What's going on?" Jane asked once she got in the room.
"Mal got a new power. I was the first one to see it." I said.
"Chad, could you come with me please?" Jane asked ever so sweetly. I followed her to Jay's room.
"Jay, open up. It's Jane. Code Black." Jay opened the door and ushered us in.
"Jane, you know the drill." Jay said.
"Bibbity Bobbity Boo!" Jane cast as light blue light cast across the room and seeped into the room.
"What was that about?" I asked.
"Mal got the power to see into minds, right? The spell that Jane cast prevents Mal from seeing into the minds of all who enter the room. This will be the safe room."
Then we heard a knock at the door. "Jayden Jafar, open the door this instant!" Mal screamed from outside.
"Sorry Jay, we tried to keep her away!" Ben yelled.
"She can be a little pit bull when she wants to be!" Audrey added.
"It's okay!" Jay said, then quietly added "Jane, can your magic work through doors?"
Jane nodded. "Bibbity Bobbity Boo!" Then all the shouting went silent.
"Thanks Jane!" Ben and Audrey said.
"Welcome!"
"To the bathroom!" Jay said, revealing a trident tattoo.
"You can't tell a soul about what is about to happen." Jay said. "Jane, the spell."
"Bibbity Bobbity Boo!" Then the blue light pulsed into the walls, protecting us again. But this spell also made a rainbow in the bathroom sink.
Jay brought out a gold coin. "Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please accept my offering." He dropped the coin and it disappeared.
"Poseidon at the Underwater Palace." Jane said as the image of Mal's dad appeared in the rainbow.
"Did she develop another power?" Mal's dad asked.
"Yes. She can see into people's minds. Every time it happens, her eyes glow neon green." I explained.
"Thank you Mr....?"
"Charming. I'm Cinderella and Prince Charming's son, Chad."
"Thank you Mr. Charming. If anything happens, let Jay know."
"Okay." Then the rainbow faded.
"You know Chad, I've never liked you, but I may as well learn." Jay said.
"Um, thanks Jay. Be careful."
