9 years later

Butterflies shoot through my stomach as I walk along a path with Hunter. My arm is looped through his. "Where are you taking me?" I ask him.

"No where special. Only a place for your twenty-third birthday," he tells me.

I sigh as he leads me to a clearing in the woods and he says, "Here we are."

I nod and sit down on a stump. "Already tired?" he jokes with me.

I laugh and nod. He starts looking around, trying to find something. He frowns when he doesn't find it. "Hold on a minute, the, uh, thing isn't here," he says and sprints out of the clearing.

What was that? He comes back a moment later. "Sorry," he says with a sheepish grin. "Now onto the date."

It doesn't look like he's holding anything. "What were you looking for?" I ask him.

"Oh, it was nothing," he says, not meeting my gaze, the breeze blowing his blonde hair.

He reaches behind the stump I'm sitting on and grabs something. Its a picnic basket. He opens it and pulls out two wrapped sandwiches. "One moment," he says, turning around.

I roll my eyes. He turns around again. "Here you go," he says and hands me my sandwich.

Its a little lumpy in one spot. Oh well. We start to eat. I eat around the lumpy part. "Um, aren't you going to eat the rest of it?" Hunter asks me.

I look at him and he grins sheepishly. "Sure," I say, smiling back at him. I can't resist his smile.

I stuff it in my mouth and I bite down. "Ow!" I yell after feeling something hit my tooth.

I open my mouth and take out a...ring. I look over at Hunter and he is on one knee. I bring my hand to my mouth. "I have loved you since we first started dating. It hurts me when we aren't together. I want to spend the rest of my life with you forever. Carmen Sally Jackson, will you marry me?" Hunter asks. "Oh and can I have the ring?"

I hand him the ring, tears forming. "Yes. Yes!" I yell.

He slides the ring on my finger and I tackle him in a hug "I love you so much!" he says with one of his hands in my hair.

"I love you too," I tell him.

We untangle from our hug and I can see that he is crying. "Why are you crying?" I ask him.

"Tears of joy," he says. I wipe them off his cheeks. I lean my head towards his and he kisses me. Fireworks explode and all I can feel is the happiness and love. I break away and we smile.

"I had a speech and everything, but I forgot it all," he says and I laugh.

"Its fine!" I say.

"I know," he says. "Everything is fine when I'm with you, love."

He started calling me that when we first started dating. I love when he says it. He stands up and sticks his hand out. I grab it and he helps me up.

"Let's go tell everyone!" I say excitedly.

"Onward, my love," he says and I laugh. We walk out of the woods and I see my friends surrounding our car.

"Did you do it?" Raphael asks, his arm wrapped around Amelia.

"Yes," Hunter says. I show them my left ring finger.

"You know, we helped him," Gia says. "Now, Hunter. Hannah, Amelia, Emma, and I have to have some words with you."

He looks a little scared as they take him away. All that is left with me is Sebastian and Raphael. Sebastian hugs me. "Finally getting married, huh?" he asks me.

"Hey, just because my little brother got married before me doesn't mean anything," I tell him. We keep hugging for a few more seconds and then I let go.

I walk over to Raphael and he says, "Congrats!"

"Aunty Carmen!' a little girls voice says. My niece, Andromeda, comes running out from behind Sebastian's legs.

"Hey girly," I say, ruffling her dark brown hair.

"So Raphael, when are you and Amelia gonna get married?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.

"Soon," he says, blushing. I laugh and get serious.

"Seb, if Hunter and I have children-" I say before getting cut off.

"If? When you have kids," he says making me laugh.

"When Hunter and I have kids, they won't be like hunted by monsters right?" I ask, worried for my future children's safety.

"They won't be," he says. "Since we're legacies, I think they would be closer to mortals than demigods."

I sigh. Hunter and the girls come back to us. Hunter looks a little shaky but otherwise, fine. "What did you guys tell him?" I ask them when Hunter walks over to me.

"I told that if he hurts you in any way, I would torture him to death," Gia says and Hannah nods along with her. I laugh.

"That's why you guys are my friends," I tell them. "You guys would do anything for me."

We all share a smile. "So, Hunter," Raphael says. "Did you remember to say your speech that I made for you?"

Hunter gives a nervous laugh. "I kinda forgot it," he says and Raphael rolls his eyes.

"You made the speech?" Amelia asks, hitting his chest.

"You guys are so funny," Hannah says. We all laugh. Andromeda runs to my sister-in-law, Emma and she picks her up.

"Can 'Meda be our flower girl?" I ask, Hunter grabbing my hand.

"Sure," Emma says. "I think she would love to do that."

I look at Hunter and we smile. This is the best day of my life.
